Luxury on the lake! The Pinecone Cottage is a unique Northwoods getaway, located on a beautiful chain of twenty eight lakes in and around Three Lakes, WI. A stand-alone house on the shores of Deer Lake at the esteemed Northernaire Resort, the Pinecone includes it's own private dock. The Pinecone Cottage offers all the comforts of home, plus more. This is your place to relax and play, to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The home is spacious enough to visit with family and friends, or cozy enough for an intimate retreat. The Pinecone Cottage is the only property in the area that also provides your group full access to Resort amenities within a short walk: pools (indoor and outdoor), hot tubs (indoor and outdoor) are located just steps from the cabin at the main lodge (Northernaire Resort), plus a pool table, ping-pong, tennis court, basketball court, and volleyball court. The Pinecone Cottage has three bedrooms and three baths, plus one sofa and a large couch in the loft to accommodate up to nine people. Tiled slate floors line the foyer, kitchen and porch, with plush carpeting adding comfort to the living areas and bedrooms. A large, wrap-around deck faces the lake, and expansive windows bring the outdoors in to the dramatic two-story great room. Each of the bedrooms have access to a full bath, while the master bedroom has its own luxury bath with separate whirlpool tub, king-size bed and large walk-in closet.

Each season in the Three Lakes area of Northern Wisconsin has it's individual charms. Spring and fall are peaceful, reflective times that can be punctuated with amazing beauty. Summer and winter are picturesque times of fun and excitement. There are seemingly endless lakes to explore, while enjoying fishing, skiing, tubing, sailing, swimming or simply boating and relaxing. Close by are excellent trails for hiking, biking, Nordic skiing, and of course, winter’s favorite sport, snowmobiling. Nearby Eagle River hails itself as the snowmobiling capital of the world, and groomed trails can be accessed right from the cabin (without having to trailer). These trails can take you hundreds of miles through pristine forests to dozens of restaurants and pubs.
Boat and snowmobile rentals are available at Watercraft Sales and Anchor Marine (near cabin).

The designated swimming area does not have a sandy beach, however, bring your beach chairs and enjoy! The lake is clean and warm with a shallow, sandy bottom.
Please note: June 1st-Labor Day are peak season so we require a 7 night minimum stay (Saturday to Saturday reservation).

Great Weekend stay in early summer

2023 vacation

We had a terrific vacation at the Pinecone as we have in past years. Beautiful home and we lucked out with great weather! Good fishing on the chain with musky, pike, walleye and bass. We took advantage of the pool at the resort for the younger children who loved it. Thank you.

Unexpected LUXURY!

From the first exterior view to the moment you step in the front door, this is so much more than just a "cottage". It's beautifully decorated, the bedrooms are fabulous, the kitchen meets all your needs, and the setting on Deer Lake is very cozy. Plus, the managers, Sue and Mal make you feel right at home. In fact, we became friends. The whole area around Three Lakes and Eagle River is such a delight to explore! Cranberries were at their peak in late September--a great treat to take a tour! Highly recommended for a truly relaxing getaway.

Pictures don't do justice to capture the absolute piece of heaven this house is.

The owner is prompt with messaging and answering your phone call which was super comforting. He was also able to give us some restaurant recommendations in the area. From the minute you drive into the driveway the property takes your breath away. The house is the perfect set up for family time with the picturesque backdrop of the lake. We rented a boat from Watercraft and kept it at the assigned pier which is also steps from the house. We seen deer in the yard multiple times and an eagle soaring over head. There are so many things to love at this property it truly is a slice of heaven. We definitely are already planning our next trip.

Happy Repeat Renters

We just completed our second annual stay at the Pinecone Cottage and enjoyed it again. The house is in great shape, and Sue the local property manager does a great job making sure you are happy. It is a nice combination of stand alone house by the water, with the larger resort a short walk away for the pool, hot tub, volleyball court and wi-fi. The swimming area off the dock has a few weedy areas, but plenty of open sandy area too. We rent a boat from a marina on the chain, and the dock is very convenient to the house. Kitchen area is huge, and great for group cooking. The lakes are never very busy, and either is the resort, so don't worry about a lot of neighbors or noise. Only things on the wish list would be wi-fi in the house instead of walking to the resort, and since the closets are gigantic, I think they could have used some of the space for an extra bedroom. Would definitely recommend for a larger family(s) looking for a very nice, modern house to rent on the lake.

Perfect for our purpose

Our daughter desired a lakefront wedding at her fiancé's cottage on an adjoining lake. We opted to stay here with our family and also hosted the bridesmaids activities the morning of the wedding. A beautiful setting with the lake just a few steps away. I was able to experience my "first look" with my daughter and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting than the Pinecone Cabin. This home is completely stocked with everything you could imagine. No need to pack anything other than your clothing as the hosts have considered everything. The pictures did not represent the warmth and beauty of the home and property. My children thought it would be a good idea to rent this home for one week each summer. Though we would benefit from renting a property with four bedrooms, if you only require three, this home should definitely be considered.

We highly recommend staying at The Pinecone Cottage! The home is beautiful, clean and with being on the chain, you can't beat the location. The home (kitchen, bathroom, etc.) is well stocked and the host is very attentive to any needs that may arise. Another plus was being able to use the amenities at the Northernaire Resort. The outdoor hot tub came in handy on a couple cooler nights:) I wouldn't hesitate to book this rental again.

What a great location to relax with family! Conveniently located on the Chain of Lakes with a dock right by the house. We enjoyed every water sport, especially the fishing. The house was clean and extremely well stocked, one of the best I have stayed at actually. I highly recommend this locations for those who love seclusion, water and luxury.

We plan to come back again! Love the layout of the home, good size living area and kitchen. The home was clean and the owner was available if we had any questions. Loved the location! It was close to the water and had great access to the dock. Spacious deck to sit outside and nice fire pit area. It was peaceful and we had a great time with our friends! Thank you!!
