Historic farmhouse surrounded by Istrian vineyards. At the edge of quaint village in Istria, amidst the vineyards and blossoming flowers, lies Casa Gaia, a beautifully restored, old farmhouse and inn. It is nestled into a large garden (2300 m2) with old growth trees and has a large swimming pool (12 x 5 m), with semi-circular, Roman steps and a natural stone terrace. The seaside, provincial town of Porec is just 15 km away. Casa Gaia is constructed of thick stone walls (some dating from the Byzantine Era), full of hidden niches and twisting corners. It has two open fireplaces and artisanal, painted tile in the bath and kitchen. Each bedroom is painted a different colour. Here you can put your mind at ease and truly relax, far from the hordes of tourists. The large, unique garden around both the homes functions as a sort of lush, otherworldly oasis. A 400 year old, enormous Ladonia grows proudly out of the ground here and offers the two homes all the shade necessary for the sultry heat of summer afternoons. Under this imposing tree, there is an age-old natural stone table for romantic, Mediterranean meals and other memorable moments in the garden. The eco-friendly pool is enriched with a light layer of sea salt at the bottom. There is underwater lighting for romantic evenings in the pool. This holiday location is perfect for replenishing your energy and leaving the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world behind. Casa Gaia comfortably accommodates 8 people. Accommodations: Casa Gaia’s main home consists of an intricately and luxuriously renovated, two-floor, stone home that features: 3 bedrooms with double beds, 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 3 bathrooms (2 with separate shower), a well-furnished kitchen (stove, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, electric kitchen appliances). The kitchen and parlour have an open fireplace, Satellite TV, DVD player, and stereo/CD player. WLAN access. Central heating. Outdoor area: garden furniture, sun loungers, 3 sunshades by the pool, table tennis, and grill. Parking spaces available next to the houses for a maximum of 4 cars (2 in front of the main home, 2 behind the garden entrance). The space can be rented from May through October.
