Weekend getaway

Planned a weekend getaway to visit with my grandmother. Was thinking of getting a hotel room when my mother suggested a VRBO so that my 10 mo old could crawl on a clean floor rather than a dirty carpet. This was actually a perfect place for us, clean and comfortable. The manager was proactive and responsive. Would stay again.

The cottage was very cute but, the neighborhood is run down, the heat didn't work and there was no hot water to the bathtub.

I am sorry the resort was not what you expected . We try to maintain the natural wooded setting it is not for everyone. As far as the heat and hot water they were working fine ? If you had a problem I wish you had messaged me I could have explained how to work the nest thermostat . Etc. I would suggest in the future you give the host a message when you have an issue .

Just what we were looking for!

Right from the start I had a great experience! Joy sent us clear instructions how to get to the house/check in. The place was clean and even more charming than the pictures show. There were so many touches that just added to my experience, from the scrabble board and fireplace to the robes in the bathroom. I plan on recommending this to my friends and would definitely stay here again.

What a beautiful place to stay ! The house is just beautiful, clean , quiet just a perfect stay ! My husband and I enjoyed the wonderful open kitchen ! Beautiful soaking tub , to die for , super comfortable bed ! Everything was just perfect for a quiet getaway. Joy was wonderful and easily reachable if needed . We will definitely be back ! A Gem in the woods !

We Visited to birdwatch at NWR. Appreciated the proximity and the cottage like atmosphere of the resort. People were friendly and quiet. If you plan to cook and like the Nuwave multifunction oven, you’ll find what you need. Joy offered comprehensive check in info and an early check in. Eggs and water as welcome snacks. Thanks!

Perfect close to home get away!!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a mini vacation where we could unwind and relax. This was my first VRBO experience and I couldnt have been happier. The grounds were beautifully kept, the living space was perfect for a romantic get away. It was serene, cozy, and the perfect amount of luxury with the oversized tub and beautiful furnishings and decorations. Joy made everything easy from check in to check out. She was ultra responsive. We would like to go back again to try another one of the homes! 100 percent happy with our trip. Thanks again!

Decent, but deceiving

From the pictures me and my family thought the property was on the lake, it is not. 1-2 minute drive behind the main office, the paddle boats are very dirty and algae on them so have to be cleaned before using them at the lake. The house itself was like the pictures, nothing unexpected, the only issues were there were blankets on the seats by the tv that seemed to have some sort or pet hair on them, and the washer machine was filled, i mean filled with mold.. my wife had very bad allergies from either the hair or the mold. Other than that the house and pictures are accurate

Lovely getaway spot!

This property was absolutely wonderful! It was clean, check in was a breeze and we had everything we needed. It’s in a nice semi secluded area and we had a great view of the stars. Can’t wait to return!

Short trip

Had a pretty good stay…the bed was not the most comfortable as there are two twin size mattresses that are uneven and tend to separate when you lay down. Other than that, the space was great. The owner was very responsive and came right over when I contacted her regarding not having any remotes in the home. She also left us fresh eggs in the fridge (yes they’re real). She recommended local restaurants that had pretty good food. Be careful if you venture into that town if you are a person of color, not everyone is minority friendly.

Sweet Swan Lake

This house is very inviting and worked well for our family and pet. We loved taking walks to the lake early in the morning and before sunset. The house is a short distance from Smithville which is a sweet village for shopping. We were able to get our Christmas tree at a nearby nursery! Close to supermarkets and great restaurants. A nice place to relax in a peaceful setting with kind neighbors.

Very nice. I want to go back.

Everything is excellent. Some details could be improved: Should be cleaning inside of the fridge. And the kitchen sink drain. Bath tub was too big to fill hot water. Water became cold. Hand towels should have done more extra. Visitors should bring: Paper towels. Hand soup, conditioner laundry detergent.
