This charming beach cottage is the perfect place to bring family and friends for that relaxing beach vacation you have been needing. Just 1 block from the sandy beaches of the Chesapeake Bay. Enjoy calm waters that are perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking and don't forget about those gorgeous sunsets on the bay! There is also a watersports equipment rental store just down the street! Take a stroll down the neighborhood bike path to the many award winning restaurants and a few stylish boutiques. First Landing State Park is also just 1 block away where you can enjoy hiking the many trails and participating in the fun, educational programs that the park has to offer. Just 5 minutes from the Oceanfront and 10 minutes from the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. This is a duplex and the unit next door (VRBO #2359484) can be rented as well for larger groups. Great beach house

Perfect location near quiet beach and hiking! Short drive to the boardwalk. House was clean well-kept and well-stocked. I would absolutely stay here again!

Visit to our military son

Our stay was perfect the location was perfect for us just a short drive to Norfolk and virginia beach but honestly there was no reason to go to the crowded Virginia beach when just across the street we had access to our own private beach with the most amazing sunsets and beautiful nite walks on the shore

Loved this location. Right next to state park and just across the street was access to beach. The street is busy, just have to be careful and patient. The side we stayed on had 3 big bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. Make sure to bring paper towels, toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap and garbage bags. It was very clean and a very cute cottage. We loved our stay there.

Great Place to Stay

This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a place that is a short walk to the Chesapeake Bay Beach, which is much less crowded than the main beach. This was our first time staying here, but it won't be the last time. The place was clean and beautiful. Owners were very prompt in responding to my questions and even provided a bike and beach chairs when I asked. Parking is sometimes a bit tedious, especially if there are more than two vehicles, but it wasn't bad. You are right on the main street - Shore Drive, which can get noisy at times, but overall still a great location, and I would highly recommend it.

Comfortable, short walk to Bay side beach!

Great property. Very clean. Very comfortable. Short 5-7min walk to beach access. Have to cross main road, which is busy but there are definite frequent breaks in traffic. Bikes provided if you ask and great bike paths just 1 block behind house. Great restaurants and ice cream and breweries close to house. Very nice kitchen if you want to cook at home. Bay side beach very calm for children. Boardwalk is a 12 min drive away. House is right on a busy main road and they do mention this in the listing. Just be Very careful in front of house if you have little ones who like to bolt. Very nice home. Owners very responsive if you have questions.

Cute little duplex

Overall, this property is a cute little duplex that was the perfect get away! We were looking for a quiet place to stay near the beach and not "touristy" and this place was it. The owners are very nice and easy to contact and even on a rainy day managed to get us ticket to the aquarium! This cottage is a short walk to a very nice local beach where even on a holiday weekend was not crowded and everyone was really pleasant. The road you have to cross to get to the beach is a busy main road but we never had issues crossing at any point. Also, there is a food lion a short drive down the road as well as many local restaurants. (Hot tuna was tasty! The seafood was great and so were the drinks!) Things to keep in mind… Side A is the only one with an entry/exit to the back of the building which was nice because that’s where we parked. Secondly, you are sharing parking with the other side of the duplex. I would say only 4 cars total could fit in the back and 1 car in the front. We never had an issue because there were only a total of 3 cars between both cottages but it might get cozy with more cars. Lastly, the cottage has split unit AC units and we found in order to keep the entire cottage cold (68F) the upstairs temperature had to be lower than the downstairs in order to share the energy to the entire house. This was just a learning curve and something others might find helpful when staying here. Overall, this cottage was perfect and a place we want to return to!

Great for families

This is a cottage on Shore Drive which is close to everything (minutes from boardwalk)—and a 5 minute walk to the beach. In earlier reviews, it’s mentioned that it’s on a busy street, which is definitely true. If you need a place where you won’t hear traffic at night this isn’t the place. However the neighborhood is quiet, if that all makes sense. We had a group of 4 adults and an 8 year old—definitely enough space for us. Loved being able to walk to a quiet beach, and then go wherever we wanted in a matter of minutes. One small thing-the coffeemaker didn’t work, but we were able to make do what was provided in the kitchen. Overall loved this place and will rebook when we return to Virginia Beach.

Great bayside beach house near first landing state park.

Cute and convenient beach house. The house is a duplex but we could not hear the neighbors. Short 1 block walk to the beach (bayside). Great beach for kids. Short drive to every store or restaurant you might want. As advertised the driveway is on shore drive, take caution crossing over to the beach.

Can’t wait to go back

Love the area, great for families, and can’t wait to return. The kitchen has new full sized appliances and everything you need to prepare meals with, and a very comfortable living room area with leather furniture for relaxing when you’re not at the wonderful beach across the street. We got in late the first night and it was nice to see many essentials were already there such as laundry and dish detergent, new sponges, hand soap, toilet paper and paper towels. The bay area is wonderful for calmer waters, families, and paddle boarding. However, if you crave the bigger waves and the boardwalk excitement, you literally turn right out of the driveway and you are there in minutes. There is a park located just a couple of streets over as well as a popular bicycle trial. One close casual seafood restaurant you must visit is A Bite of Maine, open Fri-Sun only as the seafood is delivered fresh on Thursdays. There are multiple fabulous restaurants that are close by, as well as a Rite Aid and Food Lion to buy anything you need for your time there. Truly a perfect location.

Quick getaway!

Family need a quick getaway before sports started at school so we chose this location. Stay was great. Not far from the beach. Great restaurants close by (our favorite was CP Shuckers)!! Everyone had a great time and enjoyed themselves and plenty of room for everyone !

Great Week

This was such a cute cottage and perfect for what we were looking for. We wanted to be close to Fort Story. We also fell in love with the bay and First Landing State Park. The cottage was so very clean and comfortable for families. Great location with so much to do and restaurants close by also. We have no complaints at all!

Very nice beach cottage

This beach cottage was very clean and had plenty of room for the six of us. It was just a very short walk to the beach plus the beach there isn’t crowded. Grocery stores and restaurants are just a short drive and it’s not far from the oceanfront boardwalk and shops or to the mall. It is right beside a very busy road but still a very nice place to stay. We had a problems with the a/c and the owners were very quick to fix the problem. I would definitely recommend this cottage.
