About this property
Sierra City Loves Falls Cabin - Walking Distance to Waterfall & PCT
Step out the door and walk ten minutes to the Pacific Crest Trail or down Wild Plum Road to the bridge over the Haypress-Yuba river confluence. Sardine and Salmon Lakes — and the entire Lakes Basin — are a ten-minute drive, with miles of trails, alpine swimming, and jaw-dropping scenery.
Back at the cabin, the great room is warm and welcoming, with a wood-burning stove and easy access to two decks — one framing views of the Sierra Buttes through the trees. Fast WiFi means you can stream movies on the projector after long days outside, or keep up with work if you need to.
The layout: Everything you need — great room, full kitchen, main bedroom, and bathroom — is on the main floor. Upstairs (via spiral staircase) has a queen and two twin beds in an open loft-style space, great for families or friend groups. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Spent a wonderful weekend at Catherine's cabin! Check-in was smooth and easy, and the great room was both expansive and cozy at the same time. Would definitely recommend!

Shaun, thanks for the review. Spring hiking is on.please dont hesitate to reach out. We love repeat guests that we can trust with our special woodland get away.
Great place, great location. Main room was roomy and cozy. Owners were very responsive and extremely accomodating. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay very much. We ended up mistakenly taking one of their pillows home with us and they were very understanding and patient about getting it returned to them!
We stayed at this house for our winter vacation for few days. The location was very nice, beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The house was very spacious and had everything we needed. Perfect place for family vacation in nature :)
The house was very comfortable and the location perfect for a Sierra Buttes getaway; we were there for the change of seasons and the first snow. House warmed up perfectly using the wood stove. We’ll be back!
Loved our time here. Great room was fun for gathering and the dinner table made meals with everyone easy!
A little hot upstairs and in the bedroom but otherwise nice!
Nice place. Huge open living/dining room and large kitchen. Getting to the 2nd-floor bedroom may be tricky if you have mobility issues. There is a skinny spiral staircase.(You may not need the 2nd floor b/c there is a first-floor bedroom).I recommend hiking up to the Sierra Buttes fire lookout station while you are there, especially if you are not afraid of heights. Don't trust Google Maps too much in Sierra City. It took us and our Honda Civic up a crazy, unpaved, rocky road on a mountain the first time we tried to get to the trailhead.

Thank for the notes. We love all the hiking around the area as well. Agreed about maps. We recommend AllTrails free version and downloading some maps ahead of time as signal is weak in the Buttes.
Came up to the mountains for late September fishing and hiking, weather got frisky, had to spend extra time indoors...very spacious family room...had a great time in a beautiful and quiet part of California.
What a neat spot! It's in a nice quiet neighborhood with trails nearby and many more just down the road. The house is quite large but has everything you could want. Can't wait to come back in the summer :)
Beautiful home, great neighborhood, all the kitchen tools, pots and pans that we needed to cook and serve. We would/will definitely return. We had difficulty operating the projector TV (and did not succeed). We thought that a coffee table (of any size) would be great in front of that big comfy couch so we could safely set down a drink and a snack.
We stayed here over New Year's Eve and had so much fun. There is plenty of places nearby for snow fun and the cabin is the perfect place to come back and warm up in. There are games, a fully stocked kitchen and plenty of space for sleeping and hanging out. The mudroom with washer and dryer made coming in from the snow easier.
We would definitely stay here again!
The house was great. Very clean, functional, and comfortable. My only minor complaints are the listing says 3 bedrooms but in reality it's only 2; the upstairs loft has no divider wall/door. Also, the spiral staircase is super narrow and steep; only slim and fit individuals should stay/go upstairs.
It's just as described. Our family does a winter getaway each year after Christmas, and this cabin was an excellent fit for our group of 8. Even with only one bathroom, it was never an issue. We enjoyed going on a hike and walking through the neighborhood. The spiral stairs added charm to the cabin.
Quiet neighborhood. Upstairs is pretty difficult due to very narrow spiral staircase. There is a second entrance to upstairs from the outside, but no key so you always have to go up the spiral staircase to unlock that entrance. A large person carrying a suitcase would not make it on the interior spiral staircase. After 2 days of trying to work the Apple projector screen, we believe the tracker on the remote is not working so we had no streaming. All too cumbersome to operate. It is really a pleasant home with nice space overall. Great location for hiking!

We never received any questions about the projector while the guest was staying; we are always available to answer questions if the directions provided are not clear enough. We have had several guests since and we recently stayed at the cabin ourselves and the projector remotes functioned optimum. The spiral stairs to the large loft is narrow; I like to say European in charm and scale. Fortunately a primary bedroom is on the ground floor as well as all of the main amenities.
