TRANQUIL RESORT STYLE RETREAT WITH LUXURY GUNITE POOL 2 MIN FROM SANDY BEACHES
This newly renovated sun-drenched Shelter Island retreat with an exquisite 21'x42' Gunite, wifi-enabled luxury heated pool is located in the tranquil Hay Beach area on a shy acre within close proximity to sandy beaches. A 1971-built ranch style charming house with mid-century, beach-chic modern touches, features an amazing outdoor entertainment space, surrounded by 4,500 square feet of decks and patios on all 4 sides of the house. The expansive 2,500 square foot stunning imported marble pool patio has beautiful ancient fossil inclusions, cool to the touch even on the hottest days, welcoming for lounging and relaxing in a beautiful and serene environment. A recently renovated open-plan kitchen with high end finishes and LG appliances, the interiors feature 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a two-sided fireplace visible from the kitchen, dining, sitting area and living room. The master bedroom has a 3'x3' remote controlled skylight and en-suite spa-like bath with radiant heated marble floor and 6 shower-heads. Energy efficient solar panels which reduce the carbon footprint on a 50 year roof, and a whole house automatic generator powers everything in case of a power outage. The pool offers resort quality amenities including 42-ft sun-bench with angled backrest, 104-degree massaging back jets, automatic pool cover and LED lights with 10 different colors! Off season, glimpses of Gardiners Bay are an inspiring backdrop. House is equipped with 50 inch Samsung smart TV with cable TV and fast connection to stream Hulu, Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, etc. Back deck features 3 burner Weber Grill and evening string globe lights.
About Shelter Island
Surrounded by water, Shelter Island is perfect for swimming, kayaking, sailing, paddle boarding and biking. Shelter Island is only about 6 miles across, so you can drive to every beach and destination in 5 to 10 minutes. This Island Retreat is just a short drive to Sunset Beach, Wades Beach and Shell Beach. Mashomack Preserve, a 3,000 acre nature preserve, has miles of hiking trails. Restaurants, cafés, charming shops, public golf, mini golf, a supermarket and a drug store are just a few minutes away. There are also bike, kayak and paddle board rentals.
About Hay Beach
Hay Beach is a tranquil part of Shelter Island with homes spread far apart, little to no light pollution and an amazing night sky. When you step out on the decks at night and gaze up at the sky, the stars are so very visible and truly beautiful. During the day, you can take a short 1/3 mile walk to Dawn Lane and see Bug Light, the lighthouse across the water near the village of Orient. Or walk to Menhaden Lane ¾ of a mile away where Hay Beach (the beach which our part of Shelter Island is named after) is located. This 1-mile long beach is natural and unspoiled with no facilities to distract from the beauty of nature. When you are done exploring, you can come back to the house for a dip in the pool, relax on the comfortable ergonomically shaped sun bench and look at the trees and the sky, or lounge on the decks.

What makes this property unique
Pool, beach, luxury, rustic nature, zen, water/bay/ocean, chill and active, healthy lifestyle in one place. The house interior touches is something I've worked hard on and designed personally. I'm inspired by California mid-century modern as well as Spanish style decor.
