About the host
Hosted by Celine Singh
We are Graham and Céline, a Montréal-based family who divide our time between the city and the Laurentians. Our story stretches across provinces, countries, and careers, eventually leading us to create a cottage that reflects everything we value: family, beauty, community, and meaningful spaces.
Graham grew up in Ontario and works in the non-profit and social impact sector, supporting communities, churches, and local organisations across Canada.
Céline is a designer from France with a passion for architecture, aesthetics, and creating warm, thoughtful environments that people instantly feel at home in. Attention to detail, harmonious materials, natural light, and a sense of calm are central to her approach.
After many years abroad, we finally found our anchor in Québec, where we now live with our three children. Montréal is our primary home but we always dreamed of having a retreat in nature where our children could grow up running through the forest, swimming in clear lakes, and experiencing the magic of the Laurentians in every season.
In 2018, we discovered a stunning south-facing piece of forest on the quiet, pristine Lac Sarrazin, and we knew instantly that it was the place where our dream cottage would take shape. The land felt peaceful, sunlit, and full of possibility. In early 2020, we broke ground and began designing a home that blended Scandinavian inspiration, rustic warmth, and modern comfort.
Although Chalet Balétor is a rental, it is also very much our second home. We spend time here ourselves throughout the year, which means it is maintained with exceptional care and upgraded regularly. We’ve furnished it as we would want a home to feel: warm, comfortable, practical, and inviting, with small touches that come from truly living in a place, not just owning it.
We love hosting families, couples, and groups who appreciate the calm of a non-motorized lake, the beauty of the Laurentians, and the comfort of a thoughtfully designed retreat.

Why they chose this property
We chose to build our cottage in this part of the Laurentians because we fell completely under the spell of its beauty, peace, and untouched natural surroundings.
In 2018, we discovered a stunning south-facing piece of forest overlooking the quiet, crystal-clear waters of Lac Sarrazin, a non-motorized lake known for its tranquillity and exceptional water quality. The moment we stepped onto the land, we could picture a place where time slows down, where mornings begin with sunrises over the water, and where both adults and children can reconnect with nature.
Just as the pandemic began, we finally broke ground and started shaping our vision. We invested countless hours, energy, and care into designing the ideal Laurentian lakefront retreat — a space meant for gathering, unwinding, and enjoying all four seasons. We built the chalet as a place to welcome our own friends and family, while also creating a warm, inviting space for guests seeking a peaceful escape from the city.
From the start, we planned the property with vacationers and families in mind. Every detail — from the layout, natural light, and ensuite bedrooms to the hot tub, bunk room, and private forest — was imagined to offer both comfort and a sense of wonder. We wanted guests to experience the same calm and joy we feel every time we arrive here: the stillness of a non-motorized lake, the beauty of a south-facing shoreline, and the unmatched serenity of the Laurentian wilderness.
Building here was truly a dream come true, and we are thrilled to share this place with people who appreciate waterfront living, nature, quality design, and peaceful getaways in the Laurentians.

What makes this property unique
What makes our chalet truly unique is its rare combination of luxury, privacy, natural beauty, and thoughtful design, all set on one of the most peaceful non-motorized lakes in the Laurentians. It is a place where high-end comfort meets the calm of untouched nature — a balance that is increasingly hard to find.
You’ll enjoy true lakefront living with panoramic views of Lac Sarrazin and a private dock that’s perfect for swimming, relaxing in the sun, or launching a canoe or paddle board. The property feels wonderfully secluded, surrounded by forest and birdsong, yet you are still just 15 minutes from Sainte-Agathe for groceries, restaurants, cafés, and essential services. It’s the ideal setting for guests who want the tranquility of a quiet lake without sacrificing convenience.
Inside, the chalet was designed with families and groups in mind. With two master suites featuring private ensuites, the home is exceptionally comfortable for couples travelling together or multi-generational families seeking space and privacy. The children’s bunk room is a guest favourite — a whimsical, cosy space that sparks imagination and becomes the highlight of family vacations. And of course, the private hot tub, overlooking the trees and the lake, is enjoyed in every season, from crisp winter nights to warm summer evenings.
Because this chalet is also our second home, it is maintained to a very high standard. We spend time here ourselves, which means the property is cared for with the same intention and attention to detail we value in our own home. Guests often comment on the cleanliness, the thoughtful touches, and the feeling of stepping into a space that is loved rather than simply rented. From the design choices to the amenities, everything has been selected to create a truly memorable Laurentians lakefront getaway.
