Hollis, New Hampshire, is an exceptionally desirable community whose identity is deeply woven into its colonial heritage and a remarkable, enduring commitment to conservation and rural character. The town center is a portrait of quintessential New England charm, centered on the historic Town Common and framed by elegant, old colonial-style homes and churches that echo its founding in the 18th century, with annual traditions like the Strawberry Festival and Old Home Days reinforcing its strong communal bonds. Crucially, the town has actively resisted suburban sprawl, dedicating a substantial portion of its land to open space and conservation, a fact evidenced by organizations like the Beaver Brook Association, which manages thousands of protected acres and miles of public trails, ensuring wildlife corridors and scenic vistas remain intact. This dedication is formalized through ordinances like the Open Space Planned Development (HOSPD) regulations, designed specifically to incentivize developers to permanently preserve large tracts of natural and agricultural land. As a result, Hollis continues to thrive as a rural farming community, its landscape dominated by rolling hills, expansive forests, and working farms and orchards, all of which contribute to the rustic, peaceful aesthetic that residents overwhelmingly prioritize.
Hollis is also very close to Nashua, Manchester and Merrimack NH - plenty of shopping, outlets as well as Casino's for gambling. There are mountains closeby including the world's most hiked mountain, Mount Monadnock located just 45 minutes away. The White mountains are also very popular and are just a few hours away from Hollis. The NH Seacoast is about 1 hour away as is Vermont and Maine, and the Massachusetts border is about 10 minutes south of Hollis. Overall, Hollis has everything close by, yet it's very rural and quiet with lots of nature and serenity
VERY IMPORTANT: No Cigarettes, All GUESTS must be on the reservation, Dogs by request/ permission only

About the host
Hosted by eric t mcintyre
I was born and raised in New Hampshire and for most of my life have enjoyed life in and around the New England region. After a short stint in the boston area, I returned to Southern NH and purchased the home here in Hollis NH on the lake. I love being a host and have always been focused on Customer Service through my career in technology. Hosting guests and sharing my wonderful property let's me meet folks from all over the world and offer them a relaxing stay by the lake surrounded by the natural beauty of New Hampshire.
Why they chose this property
The lake drew me to the area and I also love the natural beauty of Hollis. I'm surrounded by nature, farms and love to volunteer my time at Andres Institute of Art and the Hollis Trails Committee. I also volunteer as a sound engineer and handle booking, stage and lighting at Big Bear Lodge performance center located within the Andres Institute of Art in Brookline NH, which is New England's Largest outdoor sculpture park
What makes this property unique
My property was the first developed area on the lake and has a long rich history since 1740. I have almost 300 feet of frontage directly on the lake with many amenities that offer my guests privacy and options to enjoy their stay
