Other things to note
This property does sit secluded on the river. It’s situated in the Smoky mountains, expect there to be some common bugs (we treat weekly), and due to the river and moisture/ humidity in the summer you can sometimes expect a musty smell from the river behind.

Walking down to the river , please be careful as it’s rocky and muddy if it has rained. (Wear flip flops)

Owner dropped the Ball - Be cautious about renting this cabin

For starters the rooms are MUCH smaller than they appear on the pictures. The first day we were in the cabin both toilets overflowed the first time they were flushed. I was able to plunge the downstairs one. The upstairs one was never right. This was the main bathroom on the main floor. I contacted the owner and he said someone would be out first thing in the morning - which meant for the first night we had no bathroom on the main floor. My wife's elderly parents were given the top floor because we felt them having to go up and down the winding narrow staircase would be dangerous. So for the first night this cabin for which we paid for two bathrooms specifically to have one on the first floor, had only one small one on the bottom level. That was tough. But he said they would be there first thing the next morning. They weren't. They got there about 5 PM the next day (the day before thanksgiving.) The people who came were there no more than 15 minutes and did nothing but plunge the toilet for a moment and flush. It was clear after they left that the toilet was still unusable. I called the owner. He informed me that the people had been out and had told him that the toilet was working perfectly. I assured him it was not - though clearly he did not believe me. He told me he would try to get someone out but probably now would not be able to get anyone out before Friday due to Thanksgiving - which of course means that he didn't want to pay them to work on a holiday. So now my elderly parents are stuck climbing that staircase to use the bathroom for all day Wednesday and all day Thursday. They finally showed up to fix the toilet at 4:30 on Friday - we were leaving Saturday morning. So this cabins that we paid a very nice price for because it had two bathrooms and a main one on the top floor where my parents could access it, was basically a one bathroom cabin the entire time we were there. So clearly I did not get what I paid for. I understand things happen and I wanted the owner to have a chance to make it right as he seems like a nice person. I requested a refund of 1/3 of what we paid. I thought that was reasonable considering the issues. He refused and offered a 250$ credit. We did not get what we paid for. There were MANY other problems but I am out of space. If the toilet had worked, it was sitting in the open in the bedroom - it is not separated by a wall or a curtain or anything. This owner has a lot to learn about customer service. Beware.
