Beautiful island

Bere Island is beautiful and this cottage is literally at the centre of it. Loved the upstairs lounge and the sunshine meant we were able to enjoy the table outside.

A cosy place in a beautiful and peaceful setting. We had to clean everything before we could really feel at home, but it was well worth the effort and we will definitely be back.

Overall a beautiful place with awesome views it would have been nice if the place was cleaner. We had to clean the lower floor on arriving because of dead insects and cobwebs in the cupboards. We would have liked better communication about the garbage,Casltletownbere was closed ,which meant we had to take it all the way to Bantry in the car holding it on our lap. But all in all, it was a pleasant stay!

The best place to stay for peace and quiet, with a caveat

If you've been to Ireland, then you'll know the scenery, but to paint a picture, from this house' sun room, during our stay, we had rainbows, stunning vistas, and rolling hills every morning. The location is perfect to get to Murphy's ferry (take that one, the owner is amazing, and the loading is much safer for your car. We grounded out on the Bear island ferry and the staff was not as welcoming) and is central enough to access all the hiking the island has to offer, save for the ones closer to the town. Bere Island itself is close enough to get to most of the southern tourist stops, all the way up and including the shannon ferry and the cliffs of Moher, but thats the maximum rage without missing the ferry back. You'll need to plan a few BnB stops outside that range to see ll of Ireland. This cottage is the pinnacle of a quiet retreat, and the island itself is as cozy and welcoming as you could ever want. There are electric heaters for those brisk nights, the bed was a cushion of clouds that we never had a bad night on. The mornings with cows in the field and ducks foraging in the front were just magic. The caveat, the utilities and internet are built for purpose. Hyper efficient toilets don't always flush completely, hot water is taken from a heated tank that sometimes refuses to heat, and the internet is provided via cell signal which can get over taxed. Do not count on it for anything more than texting and email. Despite that, HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Das Haus ist einsam gelegen und man hat von dort einen fantastischen Blick auf den Atlantik. Viele Wanderungen auf Bere Island können direkt vom Haus aus gestartet werden. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, die Kommunikation verlief problemlos. Man sollte sich vor der Überfahrt allerdings gut mit Lebensmitteln eindecken, da der kleine Laden im Dorf nur ein sehr begrenztes Angebot hat. Allerdings gibt es dort leckeren, selbst gebackenen Kuchen.

Die Insel ist wunderschön und der Platz des Landhauses mit seinen Blick auf Wasser und Berge lädt zum Träumen ein. Das Haus selbst hat uns mit seinem Charme willkommen geheißen, so dass wir nicht mehr weg wollten. Die Aussicht aus dem Wintergarten gleicht einer idyllischen irischen Postkarte. Morgens begrüßte uns das Rotkelchen und versteckte sich zwischen Fuchsien und Hortensien, die mit üppiger Fülle vor Regen und Wind schützen. Wir hoffen wieder dort zu sein.

unbeschreiblich wundervolle Unterkunft

Das Objekt ist etwas schwer zu finden, da auch auf der Insel etwas abgelegen. Dafür ist die Lage unbeschreiblich. Großes Grundstück in einsamer Lage mit einem wundervollen 180 Grad Panorama auf Küste und Meer. Absolute Ruhe, viel Natur - wer das sucht, wird hier fündig!

Quiet and peaceful

Le cottage est idéalement placé, avec une vue imprenable sur l'océan et les points remarquables (standing stone, martellos...). Un havre de paix et de tranquillité, douillet refuge les jours de pluie après une randonnée au milieu des moutons et de la bruyère. Les habitants sont très amicaux et le pub chaleureux ! Prévoir un stock de nourriture suffisant au Supervalu à Castletownbere car la petite epicerie de Rerrin dispose de peu de choix. Un plus pour le trajet en ferry, moment enchanteur! Bien anticiper les trajets car le ferry embarque tout au plus 6 voitures en même temps. Un coup de cœur pour notre famille!

Seele baumeln lassen!!!

Das Ferienhaus liegt wunderwunderschön, direkter Blick auf das Meer und die Wiesen. Rundherum nur Ruhe und Natur. Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht. Ist auch für eine Familie mit Kindern eingerichtet. Riesige eingezäunte Wiese, viele blühende Büsche , im Juli eine Hortensienpracht. Das Haus ist im Ikeastyle ( der letzten Jahre), nicht ganz modern, aber gemütlich eingerichtet. Man merkt, dass das Haus auch vom Besitzer bewohnt wird. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sind viel gewandert- super Ausgangspunkt dafür. Haben viel vor dem Haus in der Sonne gesessen, gelesen oder auch nur geschaut. Der richtige Ort zum entspannen. Auch bei wechselhaftem Wetter haben wir uns im Wintergarten wohlgefühlt Es gibt einen kleinen Laden, einen Pub und ein kleines Café auf der Insel. Die Kommunikation war super und völlig problemlos😅 konnte auf deutsch schreiben. Wir können das Haus wirklich empfehlen. Hatten eine schöne Zeit!

Genau die Auszeit, die wir brauchten

Irgendwo im Nirgendwo befindet sich dieses (fast) perfekte Kleinod, welches zum Abschalten und Seele baumeln lassen einlädt. Alles ist liebevoll eingerichtet und die vielen (deutschsprachigen) Bücher, DVDs, CDs, Brett- und Kartenspiele für Groß und Klein verraten, dass dieses Haus nicht nur vermietet sondern auch gelebt wird. Die Vermieterin ist stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wanderungen zum Holy Cross, Martello Tower oder der Küste lassen sich direkt von der Unterkunft aus starten. Für Allergiker sind die alten Gemäuer allerdings nur bedingt geeignet, da sich insbesondere in der Küche viel Feuchtigkeit sammelt. Eine Geschirrspülmaschine wäre eine perfekte Ergänzung.

Geräumiges Ferienhaus in toller Alleinlage

Ein sehr schönes, großes irisches Cottage, das nachträglich um einen voll verglasten Wintergarten ergänzt wurde. Großzügige Wohnküche, die das komplette EG der Vorderseite einnimmt. Nach hinten im EG Bad und WC getrennt. Oben zwei Schlafräume und ein gemütlicher Lese-/Fernsehraum, sowie ein separates WC. Die Lage auf der Insel ist wunderbar, erhöht mit weitem Blick nach Süden, Westen und Osten über das Meer und die Küste. Viele Bücher und Videos (alle auf Deutsch), falls das Wetter mal nicht so toll ist. Man erhält nach Buchung eine Mail vom Vermieter mit den wichtigsten Informationen. Da könnte vielleicht noch ergänzt werden, dass der Backofen nur funktioniert, wenn man auch den Timer einstellt, und dass der WLAN Router bei Ankunft ggf erst eingeschaltet werden muss und sich oben im Lesezimmer befindet.

A house with a view

Geweldig gelegen huis. Voldeed aan de verwachtingen. Prachtig uitzicht. Genoten van de omgeving, de mensen, het uitzicht en de rust. Punt van kritiek: het was niet echt schoon. Punt van aandacht voor toekomstige huurders: in het voorseizoen is er niets te doen qua uit eten of drinken. Er is één gelegenheid op het eiland dat wel open is en tevens een klein winkeltje is. Edith had al gewaarschuwd om in Castletownbere boodschappen te doen omdat het winkeltje duurder is, maar het gaat er meer om dat je goede voorraad eten en drinken in huis hebt. Verder een dikke plus.
