This was a wonderful vacation! The log cabin and property are absolutely beautiful! Fishing from the dock was exceptional. The swim raft was a ton of fun too! We did a couple days jet of skiing and really enjoyed the lake! Awesome fire pit at night for s’mores and hanging out!!
Great location up north, the fishing on the lake was great. House had all the amenities.
House and Lake were wonder. Hosts quickly got back to us on questions.
Our only complaint was none of the bedrooms had a dresser. We made do from our suitcases though!
Nice log cabin, well equipped, lake nice and clear even in August. We swam every day and enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. Side trips to Itasca SP for hiking as well as walking up and down the quiet dirt roads in the neighborhood. Northwoods mini grocery 10 mins away surprisingly well stocked with meat dairy and produce. Everything you could possibly need in Park Rapids 25 mins away.
We stayed for 8 nights in mid-June with our 7 adult children/spouses. Plenty of space and oh my gosh! the great room was so beautiful with the large expansive windows and huge wood beams! The lake was cold but so clear. We used the provided kayaks and SUPs every day. Hours at fire ring with provided split hardwood. Good fishing from the dock. Deer in front yard and loons on the lake. A bald eagle flew over one day too.
The house itself was immaculate. No dust anywhere! Comfortable beds, comfortable living room laz-y-boys and couch. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for 9 people. Awesome cookware! We watched a movie on Netflix (our subscription) on large screen TV in great room.
Communication with host was instantaneous with text. Check-in instructions and map directions were spot on.
We enjoyed the donuts in Nevis at the Flour Sisters Bakery (so cheap) and shopped at Aldi's in Park Rapids for groceries. Pickleball courts at Heartland Park in Park Rapids let us meet a lot of locals. Recommended by owner
We enjoyed walking on the gravel roads around the lake every morning. Got a friendly wave from all of the passing drivers. Staying next door to the resort was a non-issue. I know they were full, but never heard them, and we were outside all day and around the fire until after midnight.
My favorite part about the house is the porch. Half in sunshine and half in shade. Always perfect with a book and cup of coffee or for a quiet conversation with an adult child.
What an enjoyable week we had at this beautiful log cabin. Plenty of room for our family of 10. The lake was very clear, and we loved the swim platform and paddle boards! Wonderful family vacation!!
This is a beautiful and large home on a very clear lake that offers swimming, paddle boards, kayaks, swimming platform, fishing, large fire pit and lots of areas for relaxation!
The beds were comfortable and the 3 levels offered lots of space for our family of 9 adults and one 20 month old.
The young adults went to Muskie Days and enjoyed the music, festivities and ice cream in Nevis.
We took a drive to Itasca State Park and walked across the headwaters of the Mississippi and our granddaughter enjoyed splashing in the water too. Very fun!
Memorable times in a beautiful setting! Thank you!!
We stayed with family and close family friends 10 people in total. We loved the property and enjoyed the house as it was very clean. It was a great location, with a beautiful clear lake and views. We enjoyed the swimming, paddleboards, and lake fun with evening bonfires. I would highly recommend this location.
We can’t say enough about what a fabulous experience we had at this expensive log home on the lake. There was plenty of space for everyone. The teenagers hung out in the basement when they weren’t on the lake paddle boarding. The little ones spent hours and hours riding their bikes in the large paved driveway. The yard was big enough for a pick up football game. The campfire was big and safe with rocks around the edge for our grandchildren to enjoy the fire without getting burned. The main level of the house was perfect for cooking and eating as a family and playing games and hanging out. The loft made a great place for napping babies, Reading books to grandchildren, and deep sleeping on a very comfortable king-size bed. It was so nice to have the five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The laundry room is conveniently located and nice quality washer and dryer. The wraparound deck provided shade during the head and a great place to enjoy a quiet morning with a cup of coffee. The cabin is close to Nevis and we drove in for a lunch and some playtime at the park by Lake Belle Taine. Dorset was a short drive away as well and we enjoyed several meals there and of course ice cream Honestly it was a perfect place for our family to stay and we made so many memories. I hope we can come back next year.
