This apartment “ Chenonceau” is in Villaconcorde, a town house located in the very heart of Amboise, in a quiet street, rue de la Concorde, renowned as the most elegant of Amboise. Villaconcorde, is a 17th century house which has been restored, respecting the charm and authenticity, totaly dedicated to rental holiday places, with three other apartments.
We are also the owners of Riverloire a specialized luxury tour operator agency based in Amboise.
« Wow ... I didn't realize Villaconcorde was so close to the castle ! » This is the usual comment of our guests when they arrive ! It's in fact difficult to put it in words but you are virtually at the very door of the Royal Castle, which used to be connected with the house by underground passage 350 years ago...Not just 'a view on the castle' but the feeling that you belong to its history.
This authentic accommodation, with original antique wooden paneling in the living room and the authentic windows, which open onto the Royal Castle of Amboise, will charm you.
This apartment suits perfectly 2 couples or a family with 3 children. Babies are welcome and we provide baby equipment.
Of course, the comfort has not been put aside, and you will enjoy state of the art kitchen and bathrooms.
A warm welcome is guaranteed by Karine and Thierry or amember of the team, , who speak English, and will be pleased to help you to prepare your stay.

WOW perfect home base for Chateaux tours !

3 life long friends from the US stayed in this quaint, comfortable, lovely VRBO in the heart of Amboise across the street from a castle ! Excellent location for chateaux touring in the Loire Valley. Space had everything we needed PLUS coffee, cream, juice and wine ! Highly recommend !

The apartment was perfectly situated, close to all the Amboise attractions, shopping and dining, across from the river with stunning castle views! Perfect for 2 couples. The only small negative was the en-suite bathroom only had a curtain (no door), so not very private, but we managed.

We loved this property. The views of the castle are delightful and the street was quiet. Karine was very accessible and easy to work with. The apartment had everything we needed. If we returned to Amboise we would stay here again.

Beautiful Location

My sister-in-law and I really enjoyed the location of this apartment. The master bedroom and living room both have views of the castle. It was very close to dining and other tourist destinations. We were greeted by Amelie with a smile despite being late. The wifi was weak when we used our iPads and phones.

Charming hideaway

Perfectly located at the foot of the castle. Charm to spare. Sitting in the living room looking at the Amboise Chateau was wonderful. The apartment and the current castle are of a similar vintage, so with the wood panelling and the fireplace, we felt like part of the castle complex. The kitchen was setup nicely with supplies and worked well enough that we always ate in. The beds were comfortable. The hosts were very friendly and attentive. The shower is modern and works well. With the on demand water heater there is plenty of hot water for the morning rush. The street is narrow and the parking is tight but generally available. There is also a free parking lot 100 yards away at the riverside. I would highly recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again. Touring note: there is a street market along the river a couple of days a week. Lots of good food items for eating in. The last house of Leonardo da Vinci is worth a look and the gardens are beautiful.

Great Apartment in the Perfect Location

From the minute we walked into the apartment and met Karine we knew this was going to be a great experience. Karine went over all the features of the apartment and was available if we had any questions. She had prepared a detailed note book with a description and directions to the sites of the surrounding area as well as a list of restaurant recommendation. Except for the fact that there was no clothes dryer, the apartment was as described, immaculate and stocked with everything you could need from clothes soap to shampoo; the only thing you need to bring are your clothes. I think the bed and pillows were the coziest we have ever found. On street parking was free and generally not a problem. The one night there was no parking we used the parking lot located 1 block away on the river. Located on a quiet street directly across from the Chateau and a short walking distance to restaurants and shops and centrally located to the great chateaus and wine country it was a wonderful place to come home to each evening. Only negatives were the lack of a dryer and the WIFI was slow.

The property is not spacious, but is well organized and the location allows for easy exploration of Amboise. All the appliances were in working order. We had a problem locating the property because we did not receive a map from the owners and our GPS became confused. There could be more light in the combined living/dining room, particularly over the dining table. The owners were readily available and helpful.

Magical apartment in Amboise

This apartment was one of the most magical parts of our trip to France. It is like something out of a fairytale. It is not only right next door to the castle, but it is charmingly furnished and so comfortable it felt like home. On our last night there we could hear a concert in the town square with the windows open and just loved being walking distance from everything. Audrey was so nice and helpful. We loved Amboise and my daughter said this was the best part of our whole trip. We would stay here again in a heartbeat next time we are in France.

Authentic 16th Century apartment in the heart of beautiful Amboise/Loire Valley

My family of 3 teenage boys, my husband and I travelled in the Loire Valley for 3 days in July 2017. We stayed at Karine and Thierry's gorgeous apartment in Amboise. It was on the first floor and had 2 bedrooms (double with ensuite and bedroom with 3 single beds for the boys), full kitchen, open plan living/dining and laundry facilities in the kitchen. There was internet. The neighbourhood was very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is immediately across a quiet lane from the extraordinary Amboise Castle, the resting place of Leonardo da Vinci. The apartment was beautifully furnished with a tasteful combination of authentic 16th century charm and modern décor. The kitchen and bathrooms were new. Amboise was a breath of fresh air after 10 days in Paris. It was untouched by modern architecture and quiet with a gorgeous town centre/square surrounded by fabulous restaurants. Karine met us at the apartment and went through apartment's devices with us and gave us great advice about visits and dining. From the apartment we visited Chambord Castle, Chenonceau Castle, Villandry Castle, Amboise Castle and Clos Luce. The apartment is perfectly situated to get to many of the beautiful Loire Chateaux. We would absolutely stay here again if coming to the Loire Valley.

Best part of our trip to France

It has taken me too long to submit this review as we stayed earlier in the year, and all I can say is that our fondness for the VillaConcorde has just grown with time. As we look back over out 2 week stay in France, although all was great, it was our 1st few days here that were the absolute best. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 4. Our son and daughter shared one room and my wife and I took the master. All beds and linens were very comfortable and we appreciated having 2 baths. Karine was very accommodating and I would strongly recommend availing yourself to the wines available for guests. The location is fantastic, we loved being steps away from the village and looking out at the castle everyday! If I have to nitpick, the only drawback I would mention would be the trash service picking up along the street early in the AM on one morning, but occasional outside noise is a frequent trade off for being in town. I will say that I am a discerning customer and very particular in my lodging and in all I cannot recommend VillaConcorde high enough. When we return to France we are sure to stay here even longer.

This is great place to stay. Karine's and Thierry's hospitality was welcoming and the apartment was very clean and beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Amboise. The pictures they have on their website accurately capture the apartment and location. The place was beautiful and comfortable! We arrived in Amboise a day ahead of schedule and Karine's thoughtfulness to offer to go clean the apartment at 5pm on a Sunday says it all. The location was perfect, a short walk to the Château, shops and the river bed were enjoyable. We used the kitchen a few times to just stay in and eat a home cooked meal. Amboise is the perfect location to take in some local culture and enjoy other attractions a short distance away. We were able to see several other Chateaus and attractions because Amboise perfectly located to do this.

Fabulous apartment in Loire Valley

Dear Karine and Thierry, Now that we are back home and getting settled, we wanted to send you a note thanking you for a wonderful time in Amboise. Upon our arrival and Thierry’s quick response to meet us earlier than expected, we were thrilled with our decision to stay at VillaConcorde. As soon as Thierry opened the door to apartment two, my teenage son quickly said, “Wow, this is so much nicer and cooler than our Paris apartment!” We loved the charm and character of the flat and also appreciated the updated kitchen and bathrooms. The location could not have been more perfect. We loved the view of the Amboise Castle from the master bedroom. Even though we had a car, we enjoyed walking about Amboise discovering delicious restaurants, shops and art galleries. You provided everything we needed to feel right at home. In the seven weeks we spent in Europe, none of us slept better than at VillaConcorde. Thank you for a fabulous stay. We have rented 23 places in Europe & this is certainly one of the nicest. The location couldn't be better. The lovely town center is just a short walk & the great view from the living room window, of the castle, complete with a gargoyle looking back, is something we're still describing to friends.It really was a perfect setting, & I loved the beautiful wood paneling! I also appreciated Karine's prompt replies to my questions & her restaurant suggestions. Auberge de Launay was fabulous - it deserved Karines' rating of "excellent". We ranked it our #1 meal of our 16 day vacation! I would not hesitate to recommend Amboise & Villaconcorde as the place to stay while in the Loire area. We hope to return.

The perfect home base to explore the Loire Valley

This was a truly splendid vacation experience. We have rented through vrbo.com in several locations and have always had good experiences, but this was the best. Karine and Thierry are outstanding owners and hosts. They are thoughtful and professional and thoroughly reliable. The unit was exactly as described. The location could not have been better: you could almost lean out the giant windows and touch the castle wall. The street is nice and quiet, and everything you might want to see in Amboise is within walking distance. Karine and Thierry have thought of everything and stocked the apartment well. The unit is light and airy. The kitchen has all the items you might need. The living room has the original paneling from the 17th century and a nice sitting area. The bedrooms and baths are meticulously clean and comfortable. And the view of Amboise Chateau is incomparable. We highly recommend this apartment and we give five stars to Karine and Thierry!

VillaConcorde - an oasis in the middle of Amboise

We are now back in Australia and missing Europe. We are planning to go back to Amboise & Karine and Thierry as soon as possible. Villa Concorde was one of the highlights of our Europe experience – the only mistake we made was to not stay longer there. Apartment 1 was a home away from home, it even included a bottle of the local wine to relax with on our arrival and a well stacked pantry. Good friends of ours had stayed in Karine and Thierry's Villa Concorde Apartments before and had highly recommended it to us. They had told us of Karine and Thierry's helpfulness and friendship – They were not wrong! Our stay was fantastic, made that way by their welcoming gifts, their knowledge of Amboise attractions, the standard of accommodation, the fantastic location, even Karine's own great artwork on the walls. Thanks so much – one of our best “stays” in France.

They wanted to share their passion for the Loire Valley, and in 2002, they seized the opportunity to buy a 17th century townhouse in the most renowned street of Amboise, rue de la Concorde, directly facing the Royal Castle.
Karine is an interior designer and carefully renovated the Villa mixing tradition, charm and authenticity, without any compromise on comfort and equipment.
Thierry is the owner and manager of a Travel Agency, specialized in organizing “a la carte” tours in the Loire Valley.
