Cozy and Stylish Night Heron Retreat with Lagoon View and Private Hot Tub
Tucked away at the end of a private cul-de-sac in the serene Night Heron community, this charming 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage offers a peaceful Hilton Head escape surrounded by lush natural beauty. A canopy of towering pines and swaying palmettos creates a tranquil backdrop, while the home's wooded and lagoon views provide the perfect setting for relaxation.
Inside, the space has been freshly painted and thoughtfully updated. Warm wood flooring runs throughout, complemented by vaulted ceilings and upscale bamboo furnishings with silk cushions that add a touch of elegance and comfort. The dimmable lighting fixtures allow you to set the mood, whether you're winding down in the evening or enjoying a sunny afternoon indoors.
The home’s two bedrooms each feature queen-sized beds, cozy linens, and individual TVs. Between them sits a Jack-and-Jill style bathroom, complete with tiled floors, a tub/shower combination, and easy access from both rooms. The second bedroom also includes a convenient stacking washer and dryer for longer stays or beach-day cleanups. A second full bathroom adds extra comfort and flexibility for guests.
Just off the primary bedroom, a cozy sitting and reading area invites you to relax with a book or morning coffee beside a small fireplace — a perfect private nook to unwind in peaceful surroundings.
In the heart of the home, the kitchen is both functional and beautiful, featuring granite countertops, an ultra-quiet Bosch dishwasher, and a full set of appliances including a drip coffee maker. A folding mahogany table offers flexible dining space, expanding to comfortably seat six for shared meals and game nights.
One of the standout features of this cottage is its covered porch, a rare find in the Night Heron community. With comfortable outdoor seating, peaceful lagoon views, and your very own private hot tub, it’s the ideal spot to sip morning coffee, enjoy a cocktail under the stars, or simply listen to the sounds of nature all around you.
Located just a 5–10 minute walk to Sea Pines’ beautiful, private beach, the home offers easy access to one of Hilton Head’s most desirable stretches of shoreline. The nearby Night Heron pool is also close by for days when you prefer poolside lounging over sandy toes.
Sea Pines Resort adds even more to your stay — from its miles of scenic biking and walking trails, world-class golf courses, and equestrian and wildlife experiences to charming shopping, dining, and the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. The home’s location near the South Gate also offers a quieter, more convenient entry point to the resort, avoiding much of the summer traffic.
Whether you're here to explore, recharge, or enjoy a mix of both, this stylish and secluded cottage makes the perfect home base for your Hilton Head Island getaway.

Comfy bed and the pictures of the living room don’t do it justice. The living room is more spacious and spread out than I expected it to be. My wife loved the quiet fireplace sitting room off the bedroom.

Thank you so much for the kind words! We’re glad you found the villa clean, quiet, and well equipped, and that our team was responsive and helpful during your stay. We truly appreciate you choosing BeachBum Property Management and are delighted to hear you’d stay with us again. We look forward to welcoming you back to Hilton Head Island on your next visit!
Stay was okay for what we were there for, an extended weekend to play some golf and attend the RBC Heritage Classic Golf tournament! Overall, we had a nice time but there were some issues. Had a few sizable ants crawling around, to be expected considering where the house was located. My daughter’s hair dryer blew a circuit and I could not find the breaker box. Took a day and a half for VRBO representative to respond but by that time I had found breaker box and reset the circuit. We never attempted to use hot tub, so I have no opinion on that amenity. Rooms were clean, air condition was at 70 when we arrived and sliding door to deck and hot tub was unlocked. We were instructed to keep A/C at 72, but it still felt humid inside! Like I said, overall a good time and decent place to stay!

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you had a good overall stay and enjoyed your time on the island for the RBC Heritage. We appreciate you noting the cleanliness of the home as well. We’re sorry for the inconvenience with the ants, the circuit issue, and the delay in response — that’s not the level of service we strive for. For future reference, the breaker box location and other helpful details are included in our online guest guide, which is sent prior to arrival and accessible via QR code in the home. We also appreciate your note about the humidity and will take a closer look to ensure everything is functioning as it should. Thank you again for your feedback — it helps us continue to improve the guest experience.

Thank you for your kind review! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your second stay at 40 Night Heron. The location and access to the beach and bike trails truly make Sea Pines a special place. We look forward to welcoming you back for another peaceful and relaxing stay!
My wife and I, and our two furry friends, had the absolute best time at Night Heron! Exceptionally well maintained property, with just a short walk to the beach, not to mention the private hot tub--we couldn't have imagined a better setup for our beach getaway!!!
Very quiet, family, friendly, dog, friendly, and close to the beach. We love staying on sea pines. It’s very quiet and we like the villas on Night Heron Lane. It’s our second time being there and we plan on staying there more.
Easy access to the beach. You can hear the waves.
Great bird watching from covered back deck
Quiet. At dead end.
Surrounded by forest
Many restaurants within two miles.
Hilton Head is our new favourite place to holiday
My husband and dog and i very much enjoyed our stay. We felt tucked away yet close to the beach abd other outdoor enjoyment activities. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub was perfect! We saw deer in the morning and listened to birds while having coffee. The neighborhood is quiet abd lovely. We will definitely book here again. My only feedback is the living room furniture could be a tad more "loungeable" but it was clean and comfortable enough.
We had a phenomenal time! The hut was very clean, spacious, and we were pleasantly surprised by the addition to the master bedroom area which was a newly added/renovated bathroom and sitting area which allowed us to have more space for our luggage, clothes, etc. The neighborhood is also very quiet, and away from others, but just close enough to either walk or ride your bike to a very secluded beach which made things even more enjoyable/relaxing. It did rain a couple of days, but the hot tub made it so much better and was great to have. If you rent a bike, it is also only a 10 min ride to Coligny which is nice. This is our 3rd year staying in this neighborhood (1st time in this unit/hut) and has been our favorite so far. My wife and I now only look in this neighborhood based on our amazing experiences year after year. Would highly recommend!

Thank you for the amazing review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the updated master suite, the quiet neighborhood, and the easy access to such a peaceful beach. It’s wonderful to hear the hot tub and bike rides made your stay even better, rain or shine. We’re honored this has been your favorite stay in the neighborhood so far and truly appreciate the recommendation. We’d love to welcome you back again!
This was nicer than expected. It's a charming bungalow in a wonderful location. Can't beat the price. Short walk to the beach, lots to do in the area. Things were clean, but older. The pots and pans could use some replacing. But we loved it and have already booked for next year.
We enjoyed our month long stay. The location is great! Being in Sea Pines there was a lot of security, saw trucks driving through the complex many times. It’s a short walk to the beach. Our dog loved it, she made many friends. The hot tub and the covered patio were bonuses, used them daily. Our day trip to Savannah was great, it’s only an hour away. Saw a lot of work being done to properties in the area. There’s a lot of pride in ownership. So many restaurants to check out!

As anyone knows, good communication is the key to a satisfying experience. A phone call or text from this guest could have solved these problems right away.
Exactly as pictured! More than enough space for 2 adults and 2 large dogs. Communication with management was good. Enjoyed the hot tub almost every night! Loved dinning on back deck and playing games out there at night. Short walk to a beautiful beach! Owners need to go through pots and pans and upgrade. High quality pans but, surfaces on pans are old and everything sticks. Enjoyed our stay and HIGHLY recommend this place! Lisa and Bob Kartz
This bungalow is ideal for a couples getaway as long as there’s only one couple. We loved the privacy and hot tub. Also appreciated the cleanliness.
The kitchen area is very tiny; we only used it for bagels and coffee in the morning, and drinks at night. Cooking full meals would be a challenge due to lack of storage and space.
The beach is an easy 1/2 mile walk from the unit. As another commenter said, “it’s only five minutes if you aren’t wearing a watch.”
With the great location, cleanliness, comfy bed (bring a pillow if you like a fluffy one), private deck, and reasonable price, this is a winner!

Thank you for sharing your experience! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the privacy, hot tub, and cleanliness of our bungalow. It's wonderful to know that you found the location convenient and the amenities satisfactory overall. We hope to welcome you back for another relaxing getaway soon!
The property is as shown; very clean, and the bedding is very comfortable. So, that pretty much outweighs any of the negatives, which follow. The parking is tight for a car, and worse for a truck. Two cars would be next to impossible. The kitchen area is less than tiny. You can manage, but there's nowhere to put a thing, groceries, NOTHING. So, if you're neat and/or plan to actually cook, it's a little frustrating. If you like to see alligators nearby, this is the place! They're not problematic, but they're right there, behind the house. Also, the walk to the beach IS close and an easy walk, but it's only five minutes, as long as you're not wearing a watch. :-) Regardless, it's a good property.
