Our 1830s rustic and comfortable family farmhouse, Blue Flyer Farm, is available for rent through the seasons.
The Summer months are filled with blueberries and rhubarb, with swims in the quarry and hikes around the meadows. Fall is full of foliage, hot chocolate, starry nights and toasty fires, lovely at the outdoor fire pit when conditions allow. Winter is abundant with skiing, snow, sledding and skating, in relatively close proximity to some of the best ski mountains in Southern Vermont. X-Country trails are just around the corner and the warm fireplace is perfect for recovering from your day's adventures.
The farmhouse has been recently renovated but maintains a rustic charm – peaceful setting with breathtaking vistas. Conveniently located near major destination spots: historic Chester, Weston, Grafton, Londonderry, and Manchester; skiing nearby at Magic, Bromley, Stratton, and a little further isOkemo and Mt. Snow. Killington is an hour away.
Blue Flyer Farm is our home and we expect you to be respectful. We also expect you to enjoy the amazing outdoors on the property, and to be comfortable and relaxed as our guests. We love to cook, and the kitchen is fully set for large family meals. We'll expect you to make many great memories -- swimming in the quarry in the summer, gazing at the stars on crystal clear nights, eating amazingly fresh local foods from the West Townshend, Chester and Londonderry farmers' markets; and above all, being able to share this wonderful place with family and friends.
Three large bedrooms (two rooms each with a queen bed and a third room with three twins and a queen sized futon couch) – perfect for two families. Can accommodate up to 8 very comfortably. Large living room with fireplace, library/TV room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms + downstairs powder room, washer/dryer, Internet TV, VCR/DVD player, bluetooth radio in kitchen. The farmhouse was beautifully appointed with comfortable and lovely details. We enjoyed the fire pit out back, the long walks on the property and easy drive (15-20 minutes) into Manchester for shopping and dining. There was no cell service at the house (which we all actually enjoyed) but good internet so we could still stay in touch with family. Hilda was very responsive to our questions. We highly recommend this place!
Blue Flyer Farm is a wonderful farmhouse in rural, southern Vermont. We rented the house for 3 weeks, but had to leave early due to a skiing accident.
The house sits on a beautiful piece of land and the owner has access to some additional land behind the house. The combined property is perfect for walks, snow shoeing and relaxing. Hilda allows pets and our pup loved it!
Blue Flyer Farm comfortably sleeps and feeds 6-8. We did most of our own cooking without a problem. Fireplace is awesome once I learned how to properly use it! The home has excellent wi-fi for those needing to stay connected. Mobile service is not great in the location, but with wi-fi we had no problems.
The property owners are very nice and responsive. We had a few minor requests prior to our stay which were accommodated. Hilda could not have been nicer or more helpful when we had to leave early.
Lastly, the property is very well described. It is well located near a number of great ski resorts - Okemo, Bromley and Stratton. We skied Okemo and it was an easy 35 minute drive. Lowell State Park is about 10 minutes away and Jamaica State Park is about 30 minutes away. Each are gorgeous and perfect for a moderate hike with the pup. Weather permitting, people were X-Country skiing on the lake at Lowell State Park.
This is a great place to stay if you want to take advantage of the outdoors and southern Vermont. The house is nicely done and very comfortable and relaxing. Highly recommend.

Barry, you and your family were fantastic guests, and am so very sorry that the stay had to end early. We like to have return guests and the property is delightful to explore in all seasons. Hoping your wife heals well and quick.

We loved our stay at the farmhouse. The location is central for day trips in Southern Vermont. The trails around the house to the pond were great and the views are great.
This is a lovely house with plenty of room for two families. The kitchen and bathrooms have all been modernized yet kept their Vermont style. We loved the layout - open rooms to be together but nooks for privacy too. Lots of attention to detail with the decor. A great ski weekend was had by all!
Beautiful, well appointed home. Had a great time. Little bit of a ride to Okemo and would have taken more time in winter weather, but wonderful, cozy place to stay.
We enjoyed a wonderful winter retreat for a long weekend. Perfectly located near ski mountains and a nice town for all the needs of a fun family getaway. Host was super responsive and the house is wonderfully kept. We enjoy every moment including sledding in the backyard. We hope to return in future years!! Thank you for having us!!

About the host
Hosted by Hilda Cohen
We love spending time in Vermont, and being able to host family and friends make it even better. Our house is available for you to do the same!
Why they chose this property
We seem to get a lot more snow, a lot more sun, and a lot more sunsets than other locations, so our little spot in Vermont is always lovely to come home to.
What makes this property unique
It feels wonderful to host, to have families with young kids and adult children all have fun int his one location. A great retreat, with caring details and warmth designed into the house.
