An adorable little cabin that has everything you need to escape to peace and quiet. The owners make you feel at home, and the store is beautiful. It's so nice to have their country store close by while you're tucked away in your cabin. The steak is some of the best steak we have ever had!
What a beautiful and peaceful place to be close to nature and rest. So clean, well stocked with amenities, and surrounded by gorgeous light and stars forever. Thank you!
Just back from our stay at Red Haven--it was the perfect spot to spend a weekend to recharge. The cabin was incredibly clean, scenery unbeatable and the brats we ordered from the farm were incredible. We can't wait to be back!
Two weeks of sunsets and wildlife watching from the back porch! Clean, cute, and well maintained cabin; safe feeling property, welcoming hosts and animals! My very young granddaughters loved the farm tour. These hosts are in it for the love of sharing their space. A beautiful farm and fabulous hosts!
The cabin is so peaceful. It had everything that I needed. The view around you will take your breath away. The property owners are so nice and if you needed anything, they'd be there.
I had a really great stay! Ive been trying to find a nice place where I can bring my dog on vacation, and this is it! The cabin is really cute and plenty spacious for the two of us. We went on several long walks and got to interact with some of the farm animals! Sandy is super nice and responsive to all messages! She even let me hold a piglett 😊
Overall, I had a great stay. The Red Cabin in particular is secluded and private, it was an amazing place for a personal retreat and I will definitely be returning!
This is the perfect place to stay for a couple looking for a quiet weekend away. The host, Sandy, is very kind and genuinely interested in making sure you have everything you need for a great stay. There's a nice little kitchen that's well equipped, a gas grill outside that's ready to go, and Berea and Irvine are 30 minutes away if you decide to head out to shop and eat. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this host or this cabin to anyone.
Tips: An SUV is helpful to get to the cabin due to the gravel road, which can be a little rough in a couple of spots, and the stairs to the bedroom/loft could be challenging for those with mobility concerns.
So I have some criteria when I book a cabin. I do not want to be in close proximity to neighbors. Definitely not on a busy road. Close to hiking trails. A place of tranquility to escape the confines and stresses of the work world. I happened upon Red Haven, in a moment when I needed to lose the world and reconnect with nature. The only sounds you hear are nature. It’s remote and so perfectly beautiful. Sandy and Martin are the most gracious, kind and warm-hearted people you will ever meet. It’s amazing that they open their heart and property to us. Make time to visit the farmers market Saturday morning.
We've never been anywhere like this before, it was great! It really is secluded, a good distance off the road near one end of a 550 acre farm that's mostly forest. If we hadn't wanted to see any other people, that would have been very possible. But the owners are delightful and very friendly, and we really enjoyed getting to chat with them and learn about the farm.
The cabin itself was great for the two of us. It's very clean and looks like it was refurbished within the last few years, so everything is up to date and nice looking. The space is small, but cleverly organized so that somehow everything we needed was there.
We hope to visit again some time when the leaves are down so we can hike some more and get a better look at the rock formations in the hills that surround the valley.
This has been one of our absolute favorite stays! The property is absolutely lovely—beautiful and peaceful. My 9yo son and I had so much fun exploring the property. The owners were so kind and welcoming. We’re hoping to come back soon with the rest of the family!
If you’re looking for privacy and a place to get away from any connectivity, this is it! There is great Wi-Fi, but you don’t have to hook up to it. There’s also no TV! A complete total plus. Absolute and complete solitude. It’s so quiet and cute! Also, if you are a rockhound, Red Lick Creek is an excellent place to go poke around and find some fabulous rocks.
My husband and I, both in our 70s, made a roadtrip with our two dogs from Houston, TX We were seeking quiet seclusion, a place where we could rest and relax. Thus was perfect. No traffic, no sirens, no train horns, no news from the outside world. Serenity. Sandra and Martin were close if we needed them but never intrusive. Just what the doctor ordered.
My sister and I really enjoyed this place. We loved how secluded it was, the beautiful fall foliage, and how this cabin utilized it's space.
Next time, we hope to explore the many trails this property has to offer.
This is the spot for ease of mind and stress free being. My dogs and I had a supremely wonderful time, roaming the property. The farm fresh eggs were delightful. The hosts are attentive and friendly. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking. The solitude was much needed!
I was in desperate need of a getaway to unwind and heal from a recent health issue that lingered the last half of summer. This cabin has everything I could ever need. We were able to cook and the accommodations were just right for all that we needed. My 11 year old dog easily climbed up and down the stairs. I slept so much and we hiked through some of the trails in the property. To get into town was no big deal. You can motor to Richmond very easily. I was in search for home made pie and found a place at Richmond mall called Bespoke. Just give them a couple of days lead time. Their cupcakes were amazing also. On our last day I found that I needed antifreeze and we managed to find an advanced auto store 20 mins away that carried European Preston’s my VW. Our hosts were extremely responsive to all our needs and attentive to our messages. The directions they shared were extremely descriptive and easy to follow. I cannot wait to return to this lovely sanctuary. Thanks Sandy and Martin! Gratefully, Bruce and Ada And Pearl Ross.
Kentucky's true beauty - We drove down from Michigan for a relaxed trip to kick off our Summer. Sandra & Martin provided farm-fresh eggs, stocked coffee, a VERY clean cabin complete with comfortable sleeping quarters, plus toiletries & kitchen supplies. The view from the homey red cabin is breathtaking & nature surrounds you to create the perfect little unplugged oasis.
(However, the wifi is strong & available for free if needed.)
This is a 10/10+ place to relax with friends or family, or even just with yourself - Highly recommended.
P.S - Thank you for the wonderful impromptu tour of your Farm & adorable animals - that was a highlight of our trip.
I came to the property with a week of healing and working through some grief. Pictures don’t do the property jystice. The property is so beautiful and serene … I left with a measure of peace I didn’t have when I arrived. Sandy and Martin are kind and caring property owners. Caring for people, animals and earth alike. Christy
