Hosts Sondra and Jim were extremely friendly and accommodating. The house is beautiful with plenty of space, very clean with comfortable rooms. We were met with homemade breads and preserves!! It was quiet and the large windows looked out over woodsy property where you can take a relaxing walk. It was great from start to finish.

The Porch House is fabulous! It's been our home away from home the last four years, ever since we found it during our son's first year at MSU. Everything is excellent. And, it's an easy 30 minute drive to MSU campus. Sondra is super nice and so easy to work with. Give it a try, and I don't think you will ever stay anywhere else.

The Porch House

We loved the Porch House. It retained the vintage charm that is a part of Columbus history along with being a thoroughly updated modern home. Although just minutes from downtown Columbus, the home was in a peaceful wooded setting, easily enjoyed by the many windows and porches overlooking the views. The home was beautifully furnished, with every comfort provided and spotlessly clean. My husband found the place “wonderful” and my daughter said that the rental photos did not adequately reflect how lovely the home was. Top review marks from our family!

Understated Beauty

The pictures and description does this property no justice. Its so beautiful and peaceful my grandmother said the worse part about her stay was that she cant "pick up the house and take it home". The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. Like seriously nothing compares. They have thought of everything. Just wow. I want to go back to Columbus, MS for no other reason but to stay there again.

Wonderful weekends

We love staying at the Porch House! We stayed on four different weekends this fall. This was our 3rd year to spend some weekends at the Porch House. Our son is a student at MSU, and anytime we come to visit, we stay at the Porch House if it is available. It's always spotless when we arrive. The bread and jelly are outstanding, like everything at the Porch House. We love the separation of spaces, upstairs and downstairs. Each has a king size bed, separate temperature control, and 1.5 baths. The kitchen is spacious. We cook and use the grill. There is a long table with plenty of seating. The porch is awesome! Thank you for providing such a great place for our "home away from home".

One of the best !!

Truly perfect! We were in town for our son’s grad from pilot training at the Columbus Air Force base. The house was perfect for our family of 6 and we were able to host a few of his fellow pilots and families for a brunch. It’s an awesome space, fantastic porch, great beds. Sondra was very accommodating and communication was wonderful. One of the best vrbos we’ve ever stayed!!

Wedding Accommodations

My husband and I recently stayed at the Porch House with other family members to attend a wedding. House was very nice, clean and comfortable. The huge porch would have been great if the weather had been a little cooler. Kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels in the bathrooms. Sondra welcomed us with sour dough bread and strawberry fig jam which was delicious. Location was great. Tucked back off the street the house was very private, yet very near the wedding venue. We would definitely stay again.

The Porch House was amazing! The pictures do not begin to do it any justice. It’s simply breath-taking. It was perfect to host small gatherings during our family reunion. It is a wonderful home with charm and warmth! The wrap around porch was perfect for my morning coffee! My husband seeing the wildlife through the gorgeous windows on the main floor! We will definitely stay again if possible! I would highly recommend it!
