We had a great weekend in henniker! The house was perfect, even better than in pictures and Carl was a great host. We would definitely stay again if our travels bring us back in the area.
This was the best stay in Henniker we've had. The 1700's home was well maintained with an updated kitchen, modern appliances, bamboo mattresses on many of the beds and ac units in every room.
Our host Carl was so kind and responsive when we had any questions or concerns.
We felt very at home in this house and we look forward to returning to it next time we're in Henniker.
Charming antique property with all the modern conveniences.
Charming property; antique feel, but with all the modern conveniences. Light filled (and well stocked) kitchen which is open to a large gathering space. The stairs to the bedrooms on the second floor are very shallow and steep which make them difficult to navigate, but there is a first floor bedroom with twin beds. Lovely view from the sunroom off the kitchen.
We had a three generation holiday in this lovely period home in the Shaker district of Henniker. A wonderful combination of historic charm and modern conveniences. Perfect for us, including a three year old and one year old. Well looked after by the hosts. Fun in the clear warm water of the lake, with kayak, paddle board and pedalo available for our use, as well as beach towels and ring floats. A lovely week in Henniker.
My family and I had such a wonderful stay at Carl's place. The house was exactly as the listing describes, comfortable for the whole family, and sits peacefully near Pleasant Pond. Carl was an excellent host and very easy to communicate with. The entire property is beautiful and we found it be very quiet. I would definitely stay there again!
The house and property were beautiful but a bit more remote than anticipated. The kids enjoyed the lake, but it was a short drive on a busy country road. There was not a lot to do on the holiday weekend with most businesses being closed, but we enjoyed much needed family time. Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Thanks Deb for coming to our rescue and taking us to Campbell's Tire Center to meet Will who did an awesome job of fixing our tire so that we could get home safely! Carl, we can't thank you enough for the afternoon you spent teaching our grandson about processing wood.
Carl the owner could not have been more thoughtful or accommodating. The house was spotless and wonderful to stay in with all the modern amenities and yet genuine colonial character. We would unreservedly recommend!
Our family of 6 (4 kids ages 18-11) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous property! Spent a couple days skiing at Pat’s Peak less than 10 minutes away. The house has everything you could need, including a washer, dryer & all updated appliances. We cooked meals in the kitchen, played board games (large selection provided) in the dining room, & enjoyed the beautiful views and peace & quiet. Owners are lovely to deal with & very attentive/responsive, even provided us with fresh homemade baked goods! Highly recommend this place!
