City apartment in the green

The two-room apartment is located in our over 200 year old, completely renovated house in the villa district. From the spacious property in Waldstraße you can reach the city center, the bakery, the cinema or hiking trails in the forest in 5 minutes on foot.
Our house is one of the oldest buildings of the monument protection ensemble "Ilmenau Baths Quarter". Originally built as a "glue factory" in front of Ilmenau, it housed a "forest mosaic factory" around 1900 and later the company "Hugo Wernicke - Laboratory Requirements; Thermometer and Glass Articles for Steam Operation".
In 1998 we acquired the house, which is over 200 years old, and has now been completely renovated.
When planning the apartment, the materials and design elements found, such as the historical wooden lambaris and clay plaster, were important to us. The original framework was largely preserved. We have replaced a few infills with light-etched glass panes.
The apartment can be entered from the spacious garden. In summer, an outdoor seating area with garden furniture offers a view of the countryside. A lawn for our guests invites you to relax.
