At the end of the county road is this very private and secluded guest casita that borders the 15,000 acre Truchas Land Grant. Views of the Rio Grande River Valley & Jemez Mountain range from the deck of the casita are breathtaking. Relax and unwind at this magical destination. Offering a range top and refrigerator, Toaster Oven, Kuerig coffeemaker and outdoor grill. Only one hour to Santa Fe or Taos. 40 minutes to Sipapu Skiing. Great hiking and photography. Nearby fishing opportunities. Your stay in Truchas will have you coming back year after year. Please be reminded, one of our policies is "No Pets Allowed". This small cabin (casita) is located in a very remote area of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range at 8000 elevation. We encounter field mice, rats, moles, chipmunks, squirrels, skunk, raccoons, bobcat, coyote, deer and elk, mountain lion and bears. We have seen all of these animals near and around our homes. We do contract with a local pest control company to help us mitigate the rodents and they conduct monthly checkups and bait the exterior and interior boxes.

We loved our stay in the Casita. Easy to find. Even though I am familiar with the mountain village of Truchas, I was not familiar with the location of the Casita. The directions were easy to follow to find this quaint little hideaway. Thank you Vicki. Athena and I loved our time there. We also had the best of Northern New Mexico dinner at Ranchos de Chimayo, within easy driving distance from the Casita. Nick & Athena
The host was incredibly responsive and provided helpful details throughout my stay. I was fortunate to experience a rare early-season snowfall, which made for a truly magical visit. The views were stunning, and the host's kind assistance in navigating the weather added a thoughtful touch to my experience.
Our recent stay in the mountains was nothing short of enchanting. The cozy casita provided a perfect retreat for our travels between Santa Fe and Taos. We spent our evenings by the crackling kiva and really appreciated the kerosene soaked wood chips too! Great place!
Beautiful views from every window. We loved the rural and secluded feel, very private, the wifi worked great. Enjoyed being able to have a fire out on the deck and inside.

It is a hidden gem that
provides everything needed from comfy coziness to privacy with views of excitement. All nestled in remoteness yet centrally located where one can visit Santa Fe, Espanola, Rio Grand, Taos, and history of The Bandeleir Ruins, Sanctuary Chimayo just to name a few. The Casita is absolutely cute and cozy.
Quiet location. Perfect get-away. Great to have a kitchenette to prepare meals and eat out on the deck. On the deck we were entertained by hummingbirds. Wonderful spot and owner!

This cabin is off the beaten path and perfect for getting away without totally being off grid. Beautiful views from every window and an awesome porch for relaxing with a firefire. Truchas is a quaint town and a great place to explore the mountains around them. We will be back some day!
Everyone knows life gets hectic and this little place was the perfect getaway. It had just snowed and the view was spectacular. This little cabin was cozy and very relaxing, we will be back. The management we're awesome people and responded quickly with any questions or concerns. Thank you so much
The place was just as described. It was a perfect getaway. We had a wonderful time on the porch with a fire going. That’s where we spent 70% of our time. I would recommend to anyone.
This little house is just wonderful. It is close to Santa Fe about an hour. So if you want to be in Santa Fe, maybe not for you. But if you want to be alone in the mountains, it is wonderful. It does everything you need. We were a little worried that there was no air conditioning, but the nights were very cool and was wonderful. Thank you for our stay
Could not have been happier. House is private, cozy, well-appointed, and utterly quiet. Plenty of kitchen ware, plentiful wood supply, clear instructions. Delightful hummingbird wars.
Looking forward to coming again.
We drove 12 hours and didn’t make it before dark, so absolutely try your best to do so the first night so you can figure out how/where to get in. Wonderful home, perfect to enjoy the views, the weather and lose all sense of responsibility to your job or kiddos for a few days. We will absolutely be back.
The casita was the perfect little vacation home. My husband and I booked it for our 33rd wedding anniversary and we had the best time!! The pictures do not do this little house justice. The views are amazing. Vicki is the best host she answers all our questions and was just awesome! This was our first time exploring New Mexico the state is beautiful we will definitely be back! Thank you again Vicki for being a gracious host!
I had a wonderful time resting and recharging here. The scenery couldn’t be better, there are nature walks and scenic drives in all directions, and there is not a hint of pretense. I suggest you arrive before dark on your first night, as there is a gate to maneuver and a key box. The owners were lovely to me about figuring out both of these even though I arrived on the late side. You will love this property. Five stars.
Loved everything about this cabin! We were worried at first about not having an air conditioner, but we didn't need one! The cool mountain breeze through the open windows was more than enough!! We had a quiet peaceful getaway until the children staying at the adjacent property took a walk past our cabin to the abandoned car on the property and starting playing drums on it like it was their full time job. But the property manager was at no fault for that. We still thoroughly enjoyed the rest of our stay!! The trees in front were the perfect place for our hammock!!
