Rented this home during Colgate Family Weekend. So much better than a local hotel. The space was perfect for us. Very clean and in excellent condition. Julie (the host) was quick to respond to questions and easy to contact. And great pots/pans in the kitchen - not always the case when you rent.

Our stay at this rental was better than expected! The description and photos of the cottage were spot on when we walked through the door. And Julie had the A/C already cooling the place down for us. This year's 4th of July weekend was probably the hottest weather we had seen so far...,so that was the best welcome we could have asked for.The beds were like sleeping on a floating cloud and the sectional sofa with the big screen TV made you feel right at home. The bathroom was spacious and spotless. We loved sitting at the large island type kitchen table for our late afternoon cocktails and snacks. If it weren't for the 90 weather, we would have spent more time outside in the little oasis the owners created for their renters, Maybe next time.We discovered a neighborhood restaurant/tavern just down the street called Gary's. Had a delicious haddock fish fry and some great conversations with the locals over a few cocktails while looking out on Oneida Lake. We spent many hours in Sylvan Beach at the Lake House Casino, Harpoon Eddie's, Canal View Restaurant and made a couple trips to the new bakery in the village! It was a great mini vacation for us, even though we live in Utica and have frequented the beaches over the past years. We hope to be able to get away again and if we do, we will be going back to Julie's little gem of a vacation house!
