About this property

Peaceful Mountain Cabin Chalet & Wonderful Outdoor Living Space

Smoky Mo's provides a welcoming and memorable experience for all who stay here - starting with a change in altitude and a curvy, well paved, wide scenic drive! Our mountain “home away from home” sits quietly in the woodlands, where you can expect to see a family of deer or a bear passing through every now and then. We hope you enjoy the peace of mountain living as much as we do

If you’re looking for a vacation that is equally entertaining as it is relaxing - you’ve picked the perfect place! An outdoor hot tub and wood firepit await you after day trips spent hiking - or venturing around Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Some of our favorite past times at Smoky Mo’s were spent sitting around the fire, roasting marshmallows and telling stories…just like the good ol’ days.

And if you’re planning on staying in, we’ve got you covered! We have plenty of board games, retro mini Nintendo Station, a deck foosball table, a deck pool table, jenga, chess, corn hole, checkers, connect four, and yes - even flat screens and wifi to keep you busy! Outdoor lawn games include Lawn Darts or Ladder Toss. After all of the fun and games…take a walk down to the lower deck, where you can visit Smoky Mo’s own personal, screened in bar / “tavern”! Try your hand at bartending, or grab a seat where 5 others are welcome to join you, for good times and the perfect night cap!

You can expect to wake up to quiet, peaceful mornings in these mountains….which we believe are best spent outside on the wrap around deck! Take a deep breath, relax, and kick back on the covered (or uncovered) outdoor living space. Plan eating meals in the outdoor dining area or picnic table where there’s plenty of seating to go around. Several rocking chairs line the upper deck near the swing chair and outdoor patio bed. Lower deck also has propane firepit with starter propane tank. Please bring or exchange once empty. It will also be used for Gas Grill. Hot Tub is also located lower level next to trickling water feature that adds to the relaxing mountainous atmosphere.

We know location is also important to our guests - so we’re happy to say that you’re a short drive away from PLENTY of fun! Hiking the Smoky Mountains, Tubing the Little River, Dollywood Theme Park & Splash Country, Soakey Mountain Waterpark, 4+ Comedy Show Venues, the infamous “Island” at Pigeon Forge, plus all of the attractions and dining Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have to offer - just a drive down the mountain and 15 minutes away!

The home has a fully stocked kitchen and small dining area. Stainless steel appliances with modern flip Waffle Maker, Popcorn maker, Insta Pot, Keurig & Drip Coffee Maker, Blender, and others. Refrigerator does not have water line. Please bring bag of Ice or use ice trays.

The living area has a wall mount full motion large Roku TV so you can stream your favorite platforms. Relax on the loveseat and couch, or use the pullout queen mattress for additional sleeping space. Small labtop/retro mini gaming space and addtional glass table sitting area.

The downstairs bedroom has a gas fireplace, king firm memory foam sized bed, Queen sleeper sofa, large Roku TV and a laundry room. Just a few steps away is the full bath with low ceiling shower. Faux bear rug.

The upstairs bedroom has a queen memory soft foam bed, Roku TV and a full bath with a low ceiling soaking tub. Window AC unit for additional cooling needs.

A fun little free adventure is 4 minutes to Bluff Mountain Fire tower. Observe the moutain ridges and 3 cities from this spot

Note: the only available (I've tried them all) service for internet or wifi is Viasat satellite. Because of the remote location and lack of line of sight. It's very temperamental and has latency when multiple devices are on it or cloudy weather. Best viewing for Streaming TV is turning off all devices. We have also provided 130+ DVD's just in case it goes in and out of service. Log on your own Apps with Roku. Pluto TV App is provided with 100 channels as well as Roku Channel & Tubi Movies. All others you will need personal logins.

There is a newly build cabin next door

*Cabin has Creek bed at bottom of property. Very active during winter months or lots of rainfall. It can dry up during summer dry season.

*Home is on a well system. Low rainfall can stir sediment and cause brown tint. Heavy rainfall and surface water overflowing into well can cause brown tint. Hot Tub is clean after every stay. Iron can cause ring along with murky look.

Cabin is all yours to use. Please be responsible and treat home with care. Large yard but has large steep slope. Please be careful. Short gravel drive way. Has lip onto paved road when exiting. Possible to spin tires if exiting at crawl speeds. This is deep woods lifestyle. You may see spiders, bugs, flying insects, squirrels, mouse, ground hog, wildlife, turkeys, bears, fallen leaves or acorns on deck.

Bear awareness is needed. Keep grill clean. Trashed tied and trash can lid on tight. If not able keep inside cabin.

The property is exactly what you expect for a tree lined mountain get away. If you don't like nature stay in town. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub as well as hanging out on both decks. It was secluded but still close to all atrractions.

Upon arrival EVERYTHING was out of order! When we pulled into the driveway the cleaning lady (whom i really liked btw) was there cleaning. BLESS her heart, she was apologetic, but the way i look at it, it was no fault of hers when i booked this trip 4 months in advance. The owner of this place knew we were coming. The place was dusty, it had last seasons dust and cobwebs throughout the cabin. We couldn't jump in the hot tub that was outside because a part had to be replaced. We decided to use the inside jacuzzi and lo and behold, all kinds of dirt polluted the water, resulting in a none relaxing bath or soak vacation. The grill, lets just say my BFF gagged as she cleaned it. The back deck was filled with last years fall leaves 🍂. My daughter has to use the leaf blower to make it look vacation presentable. The nice patio furniture displayed on the Vrbo pictures was NOT clean and welcoming. It was dirty and had leaves and stains all through the furniture and surrounding area. The screen door to get into the bar room (that was also dirty btw) was broken and flimsy. The room remained untouch due to how filthy it was. To forget the bad we go to play some pool. Out of 6 pool sticks ONLY 1 worked. Besides, it was pointless, every time we hit the ball the table wasn't leveled. Therefore every hit slanted to the side. The "pullout bed" as decried in the amenities was no actual pull out and my daughter slept on a matress on the floor!!! LAUNDYRM OLD! I don't have room to say the rest

Smokey Mo’s
We planned this trip for my husbands birthday! When we arrived on Wednesday David was very helpful with useful information pertaining to our rental property. Once we unloaded the car, we decided to go into town and grab a few things for our stay. Not realizing it was a little over 1/2 hour drive off the mountain to anything. Which was ok, we loved the site seeing and wildlife on the way up and back down. The listing stated the refrigerator had to be manually closed, that it would appear to not be chilling BUT IT DOES! (As the listing stated). We did not have any cold drinks or food the following morning that were in the manually closed refrigerator! We then had to go purchase ice and coolers to keep our food and drinks cold! The refrigerator WOULD CHILL but not get COLD! The small refrigerator on the back deck where the bar area is worked great, so we decided to use it for the most part of the trip! Our second night we decided to stay in and cook. We grilled steaks, potatoes, marinated mushrooms, and green beans! Everything was delicious! Then time to clean up! I loaded the dishwasher and when I got start nothing would happen. I then had my gas and take a look to see if I was brain dead and just overlooking something but no, the lights would blink but the dishwasher would not work! I washed everything by hand so we could use the dishes while we where there. The listing stated the internet was satellite internet and there was a data cap so be easy and try to conserve the usage while streaming. We don’t play games or anything like that we just watch tv and it was very aggravating trying to watch a show to go to sleep and it constantly “buffering”. Being on a mountain where the elevation is 2593 high, we had barley any cell service, but thought the internet would help, it did not! We could only use our phones for photos and while we were in town! I highly recommend the owners hire someone to go in and check and change the light bulbs, all through the cabin, we changed a few while we were there just so we could see to get around. But there is a few more that needed changed and there wasn’t the correct kind of bulbs to replace them. If your on the bigger/taller side, you most likely WILL NOT FIT IN THE SHOWER! There is a jetted tub upstairs, but there too the ceiling is VERY LOW! I’m 5’ 3” and I hit my head every time I went up there! Now keep in mind most people like to sleep with a fan on, not unless you sleep in the upstairs living room! Not 1 fan!
