Zuni Tranquillo is a newly redecorated concept design retreat located just minutes from the beach and downtown of Ventura and just a short drive from Ojai, its hot springs, and Santa Barbara.

A 15-minute ride down a beautiful bike path takes you to the sea and the stunning Seaside Wilderness Park where you’ll find hiking trails and coastal views.

Zuni Tranquillo is a lush, aquatic oasis in balmy Ventura that invites you to let go of all your worldly concerns and be tranquillo.

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a lush, verdant front garden complete with a beautiful Spanish-style fountain, just one of the calming water features in this suburban sanctuary that invite you to leave your worries at the door and enter a space and state of tranquillo.

When you step across the threshold you’ll find yourself in a magical oasis lovingly curated with pieces from the host’s personal collection. Art and objects that reflect her passion for world travel and global culture and design. Pieces that invite you to take a journey to faraway lands in your imagination.

The location is a single-story, ranch-style home with a large pool in a sunny, private back garden. The pool, heated by solar panels**, is perfect for swimming laps or just floating in the sun. Lounge chairs surrounded by greenery will make you feel like you’re living in a private, sun-drenched spa created just for you.

The home features a large open-plan living room/dining room with beautiful wood floors, sumptuous textiles and pillows, and a cozy fireplace. Everywhere you look you’ll find art and furnishings made by talented craftspeople from all across the globe--including Cuba, Morocco, Africa and Mexico. Each piece has a story to tell. The large kitchen will inspire your culinary creativity and its connection to the dining room allows for Italian style cooking--with good wine, animated conversation, and communal joy flowing while you prepare meals. You can also cook your favorite meal with our large gas BBQ in the backyard.

The location has three full bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The master offers garden access and a King bed and has an ensuite with a shower. The second bedroom has a Queen bed and is light and airy and full of cozy, inviting natural materials and eclectic global art pieces. The third bedroom has a queen bed and is decorated in clean, classic American style. All bedrooms feature organic cotton linens. The second shared bathroom features a tub and shower. The bathrooms are both newly renovated decorated and artfully appointed with Turkish cotton towels and all-natural bath products. As a bonus room, you’ll find an office decorated with mid-century modern pieces including a comfortable Full-size pullout couch.

Lovingly curated with globally sourced art and artifacts from the host’s personal collection, collected over decades of adventures, the location is a celebration of world travel and a passion for curious exploration. Travels to North Africa, Cuba, and Morocco were especially inspiring as you’ll see in the home’s design details.

Each element in the space has a story to tell, inspiring curiosity, creativity, connection, and conversation. We try to keep our beloved Zuni updated and in good conditions therefore some of the furniture you see on the listed pictures might be different during your stay if damaged from the previous guest, we apologize in advance but we want you to have the best experience.

The property has three security cameras installed for safety purposes in common areas (main entry, garage and backyard - no cameras inside the house) that are not to be fiddled with for any reason. Any damage or adjustment cased by the guest will be repaired immediately and billed directly to the guest.
