Ideally situated property with fabulous views across the bay. We watched the ferries, planes and cruise ships coming and going. Ajaccio and all it has to offer is not far away.
Clean and very well equipped house. Supermarket and shops close by. To be recommended.

Villa Josephine
We spent 2 weeks in Porticcio in Corsica & rented Villa Josephine. We had a wonderful time. The house was lovely, very well equiped and with simply stunning views. It was also very practical as it was very close to a lot of beaches, shops, restaurants, etc.
I have to say a special thank you to Michael, the owner of the house who made sure that everything was sorted out for us. we were travelling with 2 infants and Michael arranged, travel cots & booster seats for the duration of the stay, which was great for us.
I will definitely recommend this house for a family holiday.

Our stay was absolutely perfect
Our stay was absolutely perfect despite a little chill in the air and a few
overcast days...to be expected for the season. We were able to do and see
quite a lot in one week.
We were most impressed by the beautiful views from the Villa. The
configuration of the rooms worked out very well and we really took advantage
of the veranda for our meals; we even barbecued twice!
I also must tell you and Cathy that you are very fortunate to have Michelle
Bianchi welcoming your guests! She was extremely helpful, accommodating and
a very pleasant person indeed.
Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to rent Villa Josephine.

Excellent house with amazing views
The house was very clean and tidy and is really well equipped with all the crockery, kitchen utensils etc that we could possibly need. We loved the access to the terraces/balcony from each of the three main bedrooms. The barbecue was brill.
We really enjoyed exploring the local beaches and the nearby restaurants. Even in August you can find quieter coves. The short walk back is partly uphill - hence the spectacular views. It is a good location for getting into the mountains by car. We also enjoyed the ferry over to Ajaccio. The information left by the owners came in handy.
A very easy house to relax in.

Comfortable House with Majestic Views
This attractive house on the edge of the coastal village of Porticcio has comfortable accommodation and a lovely dining terrace with glorious views looking west over the Bay of Ajaccio. We were blessed with stunning sunsets every night. The sandy beach is a short walk (about 5 minutes) down the hill and shops and restaurants are also within easy walking distance.
The house was extremely well equipped and clean and the rocky garden stocked with an interesting variety of flowers, shrubs and small trees. There is also free availability to a sheltered tennis court just a couple of minutes away.
I would recommend this charming cottage to anyone looking for vistas, peace and seclusion with all the attractions of a bustling coastal village on their doorstep.

Villa Josphine, Porticcio, Corsica
The house is fabulous, the position just wonderful and really the photographs don’t do justice to the views from the terrace and bedroom. It was a real pleasure to find the house so well equipped and obviously a lived-in family home not just a holiday let. The quality of the furnishings, crockery, kitchenware etc was really high and added to the enjoyment of the holiday. The housekeeper, Madame Pietri was very helpful. The information you left was really helpful too, we tried out quite a few of the restaurant recommendations. The shops in the village were all really good and everyone was friendly. I have rented houses across Europe for the last 25 years and quite honestly Villa Josephine is one of the best I have found.

Corsica delight
We spent a lovely week at Villa Josephine, Porticcio. The house is clean, comfortable and peaceful with lovely views over the bay, which can be enjoyed from the terrace as you eat dinner.
Whilst Porticcio itself is not the prettiest place in Corsica, it has plenty to recommend it as a base. It has a long sandy beach and further down the coast are more beautiful beaches. It is possible to catch the ferry over to Ajaccio and also take a boat trip to Scandola,Les Calanques and Girolata which I highly recommend. We also drove to Bonifacio which should not be missed.
After each day of exploring, it was lovely to be able to make a quick trip to the nearby supermarket and enjoy a home cooked meal on Villa Josephine's terrace whilst watching the sun sink into the Mediterranean.

Even better than expected
I stayed in Villa Josephine with friends and family for 3 weeks, and couldn't have been more pleased with it. It is well-located in Porticcio, allowing you to walk or drive to the beach and nearby shops. The 3-level house is quite spacious and equipped with everything you need for cooking, relaxing on the beach, etc.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The best part is the amazing views over the sea from every room in the house. And the outdoor terrace is perfect for socializing and relaxing. We ate every meal at the table outdoors on the terrace, as well as relaxing and chatting over (many) a bottle of Corsican rose wine.
Although Porticcio can get crowded once summer gets in full swing, Villa Josephine is above the town on a hill, so you feel like you feel far removed from all the activity below. I have been recommending this place to all my friends, if they ever get to Corsica, that is!

Family from London
The villa was an absolute pleasure to stay in, with amazing views from every window, and a lovely terrace to relax on and admire the sunset. The complex looked a bit tired but overall it was good value for what we had paid. We managed a game of tennis one evening in the complex tennis courts which were adequately maintained boast a great view of the bay.
The kitchen was well stocked with all the necessary utensils. All the furniture in the villa was comfortable and of good quality.
Each room has double doors to the outside. It was quite a warm week and, as we preferred to not sleep with the doors open, we struggled with not having a fan in each room. That would be our only recommendation.
We would definitely return to this villa on a future holiday.

Great Villa with wonderful views
The villa is situated on a hill above the town commanding wonderful views whatever time of day, but they especially spectacular in the evening while watching the sunset over the bay. It has three good size double rooms and a triple. The double bedrooms are well appointed, the triple is a little dark but functional. The living space is on the top floor, with a large lounge dinner, opening out onto a veranda. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa, and enjoyed the homely atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and we spent most evening on the veranda enjoying the views and home cooked food. If you wanted to venture out their are plenty of good restaurants on the beach in the local town which is approximately a 10 min walk down the hill, but just remember you have to make it back up the hill after your night out. Shops are close by, with carrefour in town for all your major supplies. I would have no hesitation in recommending this villa, with plenty of beaches, shops and restaurants close by it's a perfect break.
This villa was perfect for our family for a week in April. A baby for and high chair were provided which we really appreciated for our toddler. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. Enough space for everyone. Bedrooms were comfortable and reversible AC worked well to heat a bit as we got cold wind. The view is amazing from terrasse/living room and kitchen. Alain and Michele who welcomed us were great for check in and check out. We found everything that we needed during our stay. Lots of touring guides with a few in English so that was useful for my in-laws. Porticcio is a nice beach town with cafes and restaurant right in the beach, a super market and gas station and really anything you need within just minutes of driving. Nice public playground area and carousel for the kids! We were able to tour quite a few spots during our stay including the Sanguinari islands, Piana calanques with a boat tour from Porto, the turtle sanctuary, even down to Bonifacio, going through Propriano and Sartene. We are overall very happy of our stay at micheal and Marie Catherine.
This was a fantastic experience, living for ten days in this marvellous big house with outstanding views and more than fantastic sunsets! Every day we had a real spectacle! Never seen before!
The villa Josephine is quite big, perfectly equipped with all you have at your home! Kitchen, washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, bedrooms, matrasses, pillows, etc etc, everything of best quality and clean!
A big thank to Michèle and Alain Bianchi, the property managers. As they live close by, they were always reachable. Very very supporting mangers!!
Also big thank to the owners, Marie Catherine and Michael in Great Britain, who allowed us to spend this perfect stay.in their villa in Porticcio!
We appreciate also the excellent place, close to Porticcio centre, beaches as well as to the airport and to Ajaccio.
There have been great days for us. Moreover the weather was fantastic in October, sun every day!
Thank you so much!

Lovely Villa in Porticcio
We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Villa Josephine. The property was excellent and was well maintained and clean. We found that the information provided prior to our stay and at the property itself was extremely useful and enabled us to make the most of our time in Corsica. This was the third time we had stayed in this particular area of the island but we managed to find some new places to explore as well as return to many of our favourite spots. The property was extremely comfortable for us and was well equipped. The property is in a great location, very convenient for the airport and visiting Ajaccio and other places of interest including the Gorges du Prunelli. There are plenty of boat trips from Porticcio enabling you to see other parts of this beautiful island. As the weather was so good we spent most of our time on the many local beaches, and you needn't drive very far to find some really great beaches. There are also plenty of excellent places to eat locally - our favourite was Chez Alain at Agosta Plage which we went back to three times - great food, very reasonable and extremely friendly staff. There are also lots of shops in Porticcio which enable you to buy from local butchers, fruit and vegetable shops etc without necessarily needing a supermarket (although the local supermarket also caters for most needs). We would definitely recommend a stay at this property and we would like to return to it at some point in the future.

Beautiful villa josephine!
We were a group of 7 UK scuba divers, with 5 staying at the Josephine and 2 staying at the viva marina in the town.
Our 1st impression was the same as our last, this is a wonderful place to stay!.
Mrs Bianchi and her husband (a keen diver) prepared the villa very well met us in the morning and made us feel welcome.
The villa itself is absoloutly charming, you could tell that the owners had lavished love and care on it and everywhere you looked there was something to like, from the nick nacks around the bathrooms and bedrooms to the pictures on the walls of the lounge and kitchen, you could tell that thought had gone into making it a place to be proud of.
As a group of middle aged men we are generally quite lazy so we tend to eat out normally. However at the Josephine we wanted to stay and watch the sunsets (spectacular!) and talk over the days diving and the terrace became our focal point. And we demonstrated culinary skills that we did not know we possessed.
Views - Stunning,if anything the pictures dont do it justice
Facilities - excellent, cant think of anything that was not provided
Cleanliness - very clean and functional
Location - easy to get to and in a fantastic position
Commnication - very good comms from the owners both before we got there and a huge folder of info about the villa, Porticcio and the surrounding area
Garden - beautifully maintained and a great place to relax and wind down
Bedrooms - great views and very comfortable
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our villa experience and would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Corsica.
Many thanks to Micheal and Marie Catherine!!

End of September holiday
We stayed at the villa for the final few days in September and the first five days in October, the weather was beautiful for every day except the final one which was quite stormy.
The villa itself is impressively large and well equipped with everything to make your holiday enjoyable. The striking thing about this property is that it feels not like a temporary residence but an actual home, one which is as welcoming and comfortable as you could want. Little touches such as a specially collated folder containing all the info you could want, from numbers to call for everything that could possibly go wrong to contact details and recommendations of restaurants in the area. The bottle of Corsican Rose (tremendous value and great quality) chilling in the fridge was a very nice touch!
We stayed at the villa without renting a car which suited our purposes, although if you wish to venture further afield then a car would of course be necessary. It is however easy walking distance to a glorious clean beach with lots of nice restaurants on the right on the sea front. There are facilities to rent jet skis and boats as well as a variety of boutique shops and local produce stores. If you go without a car the taxi ride from the airport is around 30-40 Euros, and it is an uphill walk for the last bit on the way back from the beach.
I would thoroughly recommend this villa to anyone who was looking for a relaxing holiday with wonderful beaches withing easy distance. The owners, locals and couple managing the property are extremely helpful with any questions and really facilitated the organising of the holiday. If you go at the end of September as we did the beach is practically empty apart from a few locals whilst all the facilities remained open and the weather was fantastic.

Lovely house in Porticcio
We stayed in the house in the first week in May '10 and the house itself certainly added to our enjoyment of the holiday. The weather was unfortunately very mixed for our week there, but this meant we had more reason to use the house to its fullest. It's very unassuming from the outside, but it really makes the most of its raised location with its excellent views over the bay, a good layout and facilities. Our bedroom had a balcony which looked out over the bay which was a lovely view to wake up to. The kitchen and very comfortable sitting/dining room were very well presented, with some nice homely touches. The private, covered balcony & dining area is the jewel of the house, with great views over the bay, and I'm sure you would spend much time there during a hot summer. The house was on the upper end of our budget as a couple, but we were delighted we went with it. The house would comfortably accommodate a much larger group and sharing the costs amongst a number of people would certainly help, and staying in such a pleasant house certainly enhanced our holiday.
The town of Porticcio is only a few minutes’ drive or 10 minute walk away. We found the local people to be very pleasant and they appreciated our poor efforts at speaking French! Porticcio has a lovely beach and the main part of the town is essentially a long strip parallel to the beach with a number of shops and restaurants along it. Le Club is the nicest one we found, and also has an excellent bakery for fresh bread and cakes. There is a Carrefour in the village where you would get your main groceries, as some of the other boutique type of shops are on the expensive side. Porticcio itself is pleasant but visually uninspiring, but it's beach and position in the bay is lovely. Apparently many locals from nearby Ajaccio weekend in Porticcio when it was indeed quite busy, although during the week it was much quieter, perhaps still early in the season.
Chez Alain near Agosta beach also worth visiting for their fab mussels!
The house is really only 15/20 minutes from the airport and you can see and hear the airport clearly from the balcony. We wondered if busy high-season flights would be irritating but it wasn't a problem for us. Hiring a car is very useful but you could manage without one if you wanted and were happy enough to walk everywhere or use taxis/public transport. We did drive to Bonifacio one day which was an experience on the twisty roads!
Definitely worth considering!
Tres bon sejour!
Alles da, was man braucht.

Disliked: Cleanliness
