The Spruce Guesthouse: A Beautifully Renovated Contemporary Barn.
Beautifully converted barn sits on 10 acres nestled amongst pines, hemlocks and birch trees. Situated in Peru Vermont, the barn is a 5min drive to neighboring Bromley Mountain, 15mins to Magic Mountain, 20mins to Stratton Ski Mountain, 30mins to Okemo and 12mins into the town of Manchester. We are also close to nearby Dorset and 17mins to the Vermont Summer Festival, a premier horse show event. Perfect for families, couples, small groups, yoga retreats, equestrian aficionados, and those looking to disconnect.
The guesthouse barn shares the ten acre property with the main residence where the owners live. Although the homes share the land, the guesthouse is private, with its parking directly in front. The original rustic exterior reveals a mid-century inspired designer furnished interior with open living space that includes a brand-new shower with heated floors, new bathroom fixtures, brand-new lighting throughout the house, and a private yoga studio with heated floors available upon request. The hayloft on the top level has been converted into a hangout space for meditation or lazy late afternoons apres skiing or hiking. Please note, the yoga studio has a separate entrance and requires a reservation to ensure availability as the owner often uses it. The yoga studio is also available for hosting retreats.
The barn showcases ceiling beams, heated floors, a cast iron fireplace, two bedrooms with full bathroom ensuites, on-site parking, high-speed Internet, Smart TV (loaded with Apps: Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV - login using your personal password), a fire pit and a spring-fed private swimming pond. Set back in the woods, the peaceful property is a nature lovers delight yet only 12 minutes to Manchester Center with an array of high-end restaurants and designer outlet shopping. During winter months, the property is snow ploughed regularly and on the mornings of exceptional snowfall our plougher arrives between 6-7am to plough all common roads and then our double driveway. Main paved access roads are cleared ahead of dirt roads.

A wonderful guest house that was perfect for a ski weekend away. The owners have done a great job with this property. Perfect for a family looking for a weekend in VT.
We had a wonderful time at this cozy renovated barn/guest house. We enjoyed visiting local towns to see colorful fall foliage. The house is super clean, well appointed, and cozy. The beds and bedding were so comfortable and the setting was extremely quiet and peaceful! The hosts were super helpful and kind. We would love to visit again!
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and woodsy, and the accommodations were clean, spacious, comfortable and charming. Tatyanna was very responsive and accommodating.
This location was everything we were hoping for for a 2 night stay in southern Vermont. Close to skiing at Bromley and exploring the Manchester area. Property is beautiful, quiet and this restored barn is perfectly situated for a family of four. Hosts Tatyanna and Michael were very gracious and accommodating. Definitely would consider staying here again.
We had an amazing and fun time staying at this lovely place.
The moment we entered the Barn we loved it.
The owners are super friendly and so responsive.
The location is great for all Wintersport activities and more. We will definitely be back.

This property was perfect for a small group! Everything was immaculate and in order. All linens were of the highest quality and comfort. Bathrooms were clean and beautifully updated. the bunk beds were much bigger then picture shows also
Group was six friends and it was perfect! Would love to stay here again
Communication with owner was also amazing and quick response
The Spruce Guesthouse was our home away form home this ski season and we enjoyed every minute. Clean and cozy, tucked away in the woods; we loved the wood burning stove, comfortable beds and newly remodeled bathrooms. Close to Stratton, Bromley, Magic, Okemo and Killington - we hit them all. Also enjoyed the town of Peru (JJ Hapgood's and Bromley Market are favorite spots for breakfast / lunch / provisions) and proximity to Manchester is a bonus. Tatyanna and Michael are attentive and gracious hosts. We hope to visit again soon!

Thank you so much Jeff. It was a real pleasure hosting you guys. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back any time.
Wonderfully kept property just 20mins from Stratton mountain base. Owners were very responsive and accommodating every request. Truly a gem! Every detail is thought about, and had some intense games of backgammon on the couch! We shared the accommodations witha family of 4 (2 children 8 & 10) as well as another couple. Worked out great, and plenty of space for us all to relax after a long day of skiing. Can’t wait to come back next year!
We had a wonderful stay and experience at Tatyanna and Michael’s beautifully renovated barn in Peru. The property and barn were very clean and very well maintained. We loved the comfortable, welcoming vibe of the decor and enjoyed the quiet surroundings. It’s very close to Manchester, Bromley mountain and other hiking,/skiing areas. We did this as an adult getaway, but the bunk room would be perfect for kids. Tatyanna was very communicative and available for any questions we had. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us!

Thank you so much Jessica. I'm really happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Come back anytime.
Returning to the Spruce Guest House after a long day of activities was the most welcome transition. There as several areas to spread out and get comfortable, which makes it perfect for a family or small group. Clean and thoughtfully appointed, with lovely little touches at every turn, such as nice bath products, cozy throws, popping corn and board games. It was so nice to have all the comforts of home such as laundry and well stocked kitchen cabinets. The beds are comfy, the climate controls work perfectly, and I haven’t slept that soundly in ages. We will definitely be back!!
The house is nestled in a woodland setting. We used it as a romantic getaway over Columbus Day weekend and as a base camp for hiking and biking excursions. It was spotless. We loved the decor, a mixture of rustic and modern. Everything about it was welcoming, including a little goody bag. There was a generous supply of coffee and the kitchen well supplied for us to make a couple of meals. Our only need of the owners was help in finding the place(!), and Tatyanna and John were lovely. Our highest recommendation.
Overall, a very nice stay at this lovely property. The hosts were very nice and communicated very well. A couple of cleaning issues, but nothing to take away from our stay. A couple of things of note. The property does not have a microwave, which is a bit different. We also thought that the listing showed a washer and dryer, but we did not see it in the rental. The TV in the loft was good to have, but the seating is very hard for adults, so watching can be a challenge (comfort wise). The setting of the home is beautiful.
This was a perfect place for my group. We loved the house. The decor is exceptional and the hosts could not have been nicer. I definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a perfect Vermont getaway.
Our family of 5 decided to visit Vermont in the Fall and are lucky to have found this property! It exceeded our expectations in terms of staying in a wooded and secluded spot, while being close to multiple towns and activities. The owners were very responsive to our questions and provided some wonderful suggestions (hikes, farms, activities) for our kids ages. If we could could give more than 5 stars we would!
We had a great time at Michael and Tatyanna’s beautiful property. The renovated guest barn was perfect for our family of 5, our three young kids loved the bunk bed room and the rest of the guest barn was decorated beautifully and was pristine. Tatyanna and Michael were very responsive to all of our questions and were very welcoming. Great location, super close to Bromley and about 15 minutes to Stratton and shopping area of Manchester. We loved our stay and would definitely come back!
My wife and another couple had a wonderful winter weekend getaway at the Spruce Guest House. First off, the house is amazingly chic. Very updated bathrooms and rooms with a modern Scandinavian feel to them. Great location, you feel that you are really set in the woods, but less than 5 min away from a great country store, less than 10 min to Bromley Mountain, and maybe 15 min to Manchester. We were able to do everything we wanted around town and still come back to our cozy home at the end of the day/night. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a secluded but great access location in VT.
VT is our 'happy place" and this property enhanced every part of it. We brought our two teenagers to SKI for a few days, and the location in Peru is perfect. The converted barn has a very clean, modern, chic and zen feeling to it. Tatyanna is wonderful host!
We had a great stay at the Spruce house. It was clean, nicely decorated and had all of the amenities we needed. The hosts were great, responded quickly to questions and seemed to really care we had an enjoyable stay. We hope to be back again soon.

Why they chose this property
Covid presented an interesting opportunity for my husband and I to move our family to Vermont. We had been moving further away from New York City over the years, nature was calling and the pandemic presented a scenario to rethink the way we were living. We are big skiers and our children are competitive alpine racers so living in the Northeastern ski area is perfect for them. I wasn't looking for a home or property on Stratton Mountain, I wanted to be nestled in nature, surrounded by trees yet close enough to Stratton and other mountains as well as access to a main town, and driving distance to major cities. The minute we arrived at our future 10 acres, I knew I was home.
What makes this property unique
This is a special place. I immediately feel in love with the property the day I came to see it and spent thirty minutes admiring the grounds, the pond, the fruit trees and the cabin before I even stepped foot into the main house. I saw potential with the barn to convert into a guest house-slash-yoga studio - to host retreats. friends and guests, something I've always wanted to do. And to have it all situated in a pine forest is just amazing.
