We had a great weekend away for my birthday. The house was cozy and had everything we needed. We could've spent much longer than a weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub, the yard, and the yard space beside the river. The view from the deck was gorgeous and we spent a lot of time soaking in the sunshine! Luray is a quick, easy drive, and there is a Food Lion close by as well. I bet it's a great spot in the summer for river time!
We really enjoyed this property. It is peaceful being on the river. Elkton and Luray were both close by, with the national park a little less than an hour away. The cabin was spotless when we arrived and very well appointed. The owner was very helpful. The hot tub was great in quiet morning looking out over the river.
Amazing weekend stay for hiking! From the meticulously organized and well-stocked kitchen, to the hot tub and fire pit, and the hibernation-worthy beds, this was a perfect home away from home. Kids loved the gaming table and arcade while we stargazed by the fire. Chrissy made the whole process so easy and answered all our advance questions right away. Loved it!
Really enjoyed our time. We've stayed in a lot of cabins in Luray but this one by far had the best access to the river. Beds were SUPER comfortable! An added bonus! Thank you!
This was our first VRBO experience and it was fantastic! The cabin itself was lovely and the extras (hot tub, fire pit, riverside location etc.) made it feel extra special.
Our stay was absolutely everything we could have asked for!! The cabin was so clean and had everything we needed! It was so quiet and peaceful!! Would definitely stay here again!! Thank you for such a wonderful getaway!
We really enjoyed our stay. There was a few issues with the hot tub but we made the owners aware and hopefully it will be fixed. All in all though it was a great with family we will definitely be back
Great location. We enjoyed a nice long weekend. It was great to be right on the river. We sat and relaxed at the river, fished, had bon fires each evening. We had a great afternoon tubing down the river. It was so relaxing and still only 20 min to Luray. We hiked to Dark Hollow Falls, drove the scenic Skyview parkway. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were so very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
This cabin provided us with a much needed respite from the northern VA area. The neighborhood was very quiet and there is something special about being able to walk just a few steps and be on the bank of the river. The cabin has everything you need and is super cozy. I find that a lot of rentals are not as clean as they say they are but this place came through! It is well maintained and even down to the towels and linens you can tell the owner cares about their home and their guests experience. I would certainly go back!
Very nice, well-equipped and maintained cabin. We were only there for 2 nights but enjoyed some hiking and tubing, plus hanging out around the firepit and playing some cornhole (we brought that). The host is very responsive and quickly helped us with hiking choices and tubing put-ins. There's one 1.3 miles from the house for about an hour long float, another one in town for a much longer float. We messaged Christina that the chairs down at the river were missing. She said they had been swept away by a flood the previous week, but had chairs delivered by the next morning. Thanks Christina!
This house was very nice although the beds are pretty hard it did not ruin the trip. The floor was very squeaky also so not good for bottom floor light sleepers. The creek was nice, my nephew fished. The selection of coffee was great as well. We enjoyed smores in the fire pit and loved the hot tub. WIFI was awful so dont count on watching television. But who needs television with the view from the balcony. Thank you so much for letting us stay.

Very Cozy- Some Challenges
This place was absolutely adorable.! The owners were extremely pleasant and very attentive. However, we were not aware of the train that is directly behind the property that runs often in the middle of the night. In fairness, we may have missed it in the description! A few other nuisances (internet connection was more than “spotty”, almost nonexistent- not able to watch a movie in full). Overall, it was very relaxing and serene. Not sure that we would revisit, but it was nice ( for the most part)
My family of 6 had a wonderful long weekend at the Skyview River Retreat! It was exactly as described. Comfy, cozy beds with plenty of extra blankets. More than enough bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Towels for the hot tub too. Loved the extensive DVD collection with two DVD players. My boys loved the game table. Lots of board games too. Awesome firepit with amazing views of the river! Used the kayaks which was a nice bonus. Our only issue was that the previous renters left the hot tub in an unusable condition (which was completely out of the owners hands) and because it was a long holiday weekend, the hot tub maintenance company was unable to come out until Monday, but we were able to squeeze in a couple of uses and were compensated for not getting full use. We were close to Shenandoah National Park and also visited the Shenandoah Caverns which I highly recommend! Would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful, scenic, and relaxing! We loved the plentiful outdoor options for the kids, the firepit, the river with float trips, swimming, fishing, and so much more! The property was very clean and the host was very attentive to our needs!
Our family had a perfectly relaxing week at SkyView River Cabin. We spent the week fishing (and catching a ton of bass!), tubing down the river, soaking in the hot tub and ending each night with a fire and s'mores. The house was fully stocked, the beds were super comfy, there were a ton of games to play during the rainy moments. Small downsides would be the single bathroom, the steep driveway and the high speed of the cars that pass by the house was a little unnerving when my son was running to the river. However, all of this was stated by the owner so there were no surprises. We would absolutely rent here again and recommend to another family!
We had an amazing stay. Nothing could have been better! The river was a little wild. It was a real adventure going in the kayaks! Best host, great communication. Hope to come back next time. Thanks!!!
This mountain-themed decorated cabin was the perfect accommodation for our family getaway. Lots of amenities and thoughtful details made for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the hot tub overlooking the river. Would recommend!
