To visit around about thirty minutes by car: Fatima, famous pilgrimage site; Ourem, a pretty village and its medieval castle; the river beaches on the Zèzère river, and Constancia and the castle of Almourol on its island in the middle of the Tagus.
Between 30 mns and 1 hour: culture lovers will not miss the monasteries of Batalha and Alcobaça; the village of Obidos; the peninsula of Peniche; and the famous beaches of Nazaré (the big waves are in winter!)
Porto is 1h30, Lisbon 1h15.
