Mobile Home, 2 Bedrooms + 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-8). Natural High is a Cedar Island, North Carolina vacation rental -- a beach retreat that overlooks the tranquil waters of Pamlico Sound. Natural High is an excellent place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The uniqueness of mile after mile of unspoiled sandy beach, and the smell of the marsh and sea are perfect for early morning walks or romantic twilight strolls. Bird lovers, sun bathers, and fisherman alike find this a paradise.

The upper deck offers a view of the Down East fishing fleet, along with the departures of the Cedar Island-Ocracoke Ferry. After day trips to surrounding points of interest, come back to the peaceful setting of a beautiful sunset and sounds of the water and nature.

Come experience the fascination of the waves, sun, winds, and tides of Pamlico Sound, Drum Inlet and Core Banks. The variety of living things that enrich our coastal waters make this area such a special place to visit.

The sound and surf is filled with trout, flounder, blue fish, shrimp, clams, and blue crabs. Porpoises can often be seen riding the waves, while sea gulls hover overhead.

Please note that although the property is not handy-cap compliant, the low front deck with only 3 steps, makes reaching the property easy for the elderly or those confined to a wheel chair. Come visit our get away at the best beach 'Down East' offers.

Important information: Restaurants listed (Sharky and Bay Breeze) are no longer in business. Wild Will's Restaurant is open and located Atlantic, NC. Paddys Restaurant is located in Sea Level, NC. Both are approximately 10 miles from Natuaral High. Call before you go. Pamlico Sound/Cedar Island beach is a two minute walk from the property. There is only a small convenience store on the island. It is advisable to do your grocery shopping prior to your Cedar Island Visit.. Cape Lookout is a 45 minute drive from Cedar Island. Bradly's Seafood (Quality Seafood) is an excellent place to purchase seafood.

Much obliged for a pleasant stay!

About 5 minutes after we arrived, we knew we wanted to return again as soon as possible...It's that kind of place. The house was cozy and clean and reminiscent of the best childhood vacations you had as a kid. The screened in porch was perfect for morning coffee and evening beverages, and we got to see the best sunsets from both the empty beach and the rooftop deck. Denise was fabulous to rent from and provided a lot of care with her responses to questions; she really wants her guests to have a great experience. We appreciated the medicine for the soul that the past several days provided.

Great place to get away

Really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a place to go to the beach with young kids, this is it. Lots of sand bars keeps the water shallow. It was great for my 3 year old. We will look to stay here again if we make it back out to cedar island.

Love Natural High

Wonderful place!

We all enjoyed our weekend at Denise's place, it was perfect for my elderly retriever, with easy access to the beach. The furniture was very comfortable also , especially the recliner. We Hope to go back soon!

Summer Getaway

Beach Heaven

We loved staying at this property: nestled in the dunes, just a few steps to Pamlico Sound and a short walk to the Ocracoke Ferry. In the mornings we enjoyed watching the waves from the little raised perch. The mobile home is rustic and had everything we needed. Lovely stay!

Perfect for us

Very quiet lovation with easy beach access. The property was very clean upon our arrival. Supplies were well stocked. Our small dog loved the screen porch. We would love to stay here again only for a little longer.

Hidden Gem

This quiet, comfy property truly is a hidden gem. The house is comfortable and the location is beautifully perfect. We particularly enjoyed the natural beauty, sunroom and spacious decks. The house has everything needed for a comfortable stay....plenty of room inside and out. We will certainly look at this property again when we return to Cedar Island.

This was the second year we have stayed at Natural High and we truly enjoyed our stay. It’s a wonderful property with great beach access. We like the small town area with little traffic in the beach. This place has EVERYTHING

Screened porch with rocking chairs? Check. Upper deck with view of sound? Check. Fish cleaning station, hoses to rinse off sand before entering house, bench in the dunes? Check, check, check. This quiet place was wayyyy more than we had hoped. We'd definitely stay again!

Wonderful location

We wanted a get away for us and our two elderly dogs. The place was perfect because it's ground level and so close to the beach. The home was nice & clean, and there was nothing that we needed (except better weather unfortunately). Denise was available when I had questions, & she couldn't have been a better host. We'd like to try it again when there isn't coastal flooding and relentless gale force winds for DAYS & DAYS. We made the best of it and the four of us had a very nice trip, no matter what. Thank You Denise.

Peaceful week on the beach

Denise's property is very clean and well kept inside and out. The views from upper deck of both ocean and sound are beautiful! Neighborhood was very quiet during our stay. We kayaked to secluded beaches and loved walking the beach on other side of ferry to see cows and a few horses roaming the beaches. Nearby restaurant was convenient for a couple beers and appetizers. Got fresh caught fish nearby for very cheap and fileted outside at fish cleaning station. Made day trips to Beaufort, Morehead City and Fort Macon. Despite not having ideal weather, we still enjoyed our time here! Thanks for having us!

Relaxing and private

This was the first time we have stayed on “the sound” and our stay here was perfect. The town is very small, but had a restaurant and gas station market as well as the ferry to Okracoke Island. The property is charming. Clean inside with beachy decor. The bedrooms are on opposite sides which is great if you have kids. The screen porch and rooftop deck were awesome and the private boardwalk to the beach was great. The beach was not crowded and the water had a nice sandy bottom and was calf deep for at least a hundred yards before gradually getting deeper. We saw skates, lots of different birds, little fish, and a few hermit crabs. The owner is nice and is happy to answer any questions. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well supplied, WiFi, and cable. We brought groceries with us and then drove about 30-40 minutes a couple nights to restaurants on the water. We very much enjoyed the low key atmosphere and relaxing on the beach.

Labor Day - 2012

What a wonderful vacation we had! Seven girls for an extended "girls weekend," had a great time at Natural High! We loved going to the beach every day, dragging our chairs out to the sandbar to sit for hours...watching the ferry come and go. It was so relaxing! We enjoyed fresh crabs right out of the crab pots supplied by the local fisherman. The Quality Seafood provided fresh shrimp and fish. We loved going to the Island Choice for our daily shopping needs. The locals were so nice and helpful! Natural High is stocked and ready for whatever you want to do or could think of to do. But Denise was the best! She and her family made us feel right and home. Denise made sure we had everything we needed. She even took pity on us and showed us how to cook the crabs, which were awesome!! We really enjoyed ourselves and look forward to coming back. It was a little slice of heaven for our short week, but we'll be back! Thank you again Denise!

Bobby and Denise Daniels are the owners of Natural High. We were both born and raised in the area. We have raised two children here and still love it as much as we did when we were growing up. We enjoy having friends and family get together's at the beach when Natural High is not rented.

We live three miles away, so it is easy to maintain. We wanted a place where we could enjoy the peace and quiet of our very own beach.
