The nightlife at the lake also has a lot to offer. Pörtach and Velden invite you to stroll around in the evening. In Velden there is also a casino, a beautiful park and many cafes as well as interesting boutiques for shopping. From the lake you can explore the region on the numerous hiking trails up to 1000 meters in altitude. Mountain biking is provided on dedicated trails in the area. For day trips, Klagenfurt, 25 km away, and Villach, 27 km away, are perfect.

In winter, you can explore the Gerlitzen ski area on 42 km of groomed slopes. Gerlitzen has that certain something for young and old.
