We made a trip up to visit our daughter who attends Winthrop, and celebrate Thanksgiving with her. We also visited Charolotte while in the area, and my two sons attended a football game. It was the perfect location as well as a tranquil place to stay!!
We needed a short term rental while my mom moved out of her house and wait on the new one to be ready. This was the perfect spot for her to relax and enjoy the views while she waited. The host were great with communication and made us feel like we were home. We loved this little slice of heaven.
This house was perfect for our family + friends getaway. It's on a lovely spot on the main channel with spectacular views, yet enough privacy to swim and kayak near the dock; our teens loved the water trampoline! The house is clean and updated--we didn't see a speck of dog hair mentioned in earlier reviews. The sunroom and dock offer180 degree views--we watched both the sun and moon rise over the lake. Beautiful spot with friendly, helpful hosts.
The view was beautiful. The house did not look anything like the pictures. We were very disappointed especially given the price we paid. The floor covering in the room with all the windows was a kids foam mat and the room had kids toys all over. The second bedroom was a kids room and the bedding looked worn out. There were men’s clothes filling the closet in the master and spoiled food reeking in the refrigerator. The hot tub looked gross as did the toilets in the bathroom. They looked very old and used. When we told the host we did not want to stay there because it was gross he laughed and said he didn’t care and then proceeded to say some things that did not make us feel comfortable staying. Unfortunately we left without taking pictures because the host said a slur and told us to get the f out of there. He the proceeded to tell VRBO we were lying. Save your money and find another place to stay.
We loved Lake Wylie! It was clean and fun to jump off the docks or use the beach area to swim. The house was updated and beautiful! There was excessive dog fur, although we were okay with that. The beds are comfortable, and the sunroom is one of my favorite rooms ever! The only downfalls were the dock was in a bit of rough condition, so you had to be careful of splinters and nails and there are huge wasps or hornets living in the ground by the hot tub.
We really enjoyed our 4-day stay here, spending most of our time in the large sunroom, which has 3 walls of windows, all of which can be opened, all of which look out on big stretches of Lake Wylie from the SC side, and plenty of sofa space. The living room and kitchen combo are large and have a vaulted ceiling. The king bed in the master bedroom is perhaps the most comfortable we've ever slept in. There's a wood-burning fireplace in the living room and an small outdoor small fireplace with seating and wood provided. The covered dock, in addition to housing the owners boat, also holds a sectional sofa and heater, and there's a floating dock attached from which we launched a rented tandem kayak. The house and grounds we're very clean.
Lovely location, but "clean" sheets/towels were not available
Property has lovely views of the lake. The only complaint was that the sheets, bedding, and towels had a great deal of animal hair on them. Pictures show the hair boldly on the dark blue sheets/towels that were on the beds and in the cupboard. The owner mentioned that he has a dog that stays with them when there. This was very uncomfortable for us the first and second night. The third evening new sheets arrived from Amazon - white in color - we finally slept without issue. The rest of the house was clean. The animal hair on bed sheets and towels was our only issue.

Why they chose this property
One of the few flat lots on a peninsula and the main channel. Enjoy the sunrise from your bedroom window and the sunset by the comfortable couch on the dock. New salt water jacuzzi with privacy and a water front view. Great for a year round vacation spot.
