Really exceptional place in a great location. This house is well equipped with beautiful furnishings and tranquil views. Everyone is of good quality and well maintained. I especially loved the vintage stove. The hosts are responsive and helpful. A perfect stay for a small family.

Another great stay in Pleasure Point. This is one of our favorites. It’s a perfect location, walking distance to the beach and so many other places, and we love the house with its many windows looking out onto Moran Lake and further in the distance the ocean. We cooked most nights, the kitchen had everything you need, and enjoyed the hot tub in the mornings before we went out and about. Would gladly return.

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was spacious and well stocked. The roomy kitchen was a great place to cook meals and reconnect with family. You can walk to so many beaches so no worries about parking. The deck and spa overlooking the lagoon were our favorite place to chill. We hope to be back!

What a fantastic escape into a tranquil and restful place that also allowed us to access all of the excitement of Santa Cruz from surfing and the boardwalk to long trail runs and fantastic biking. Couldn't imagine a better place to return to - the kitchen is warm and stocked with everything you need, the bedrooms quite, private and extremely comfortable, the bathroom a complete luxury and the hot tub was perfection! Thank you for being amazing hosts!

This is a unique and beautiful location and home, right next to a small lake and the ocean. The pictures do not do it justice; it's so much better in person. We didn’t expect the partial ocean view beyond the lake and enjoyed watching boats pass by. Sunsets were amazing with light reflecting on the lake. Fantastic views from both the living room and kitchen. Even washing dishes was enjoyable with the view. Monarch butterflies were in the Eucalyptus trees in mid-October, another unexpected treat. The bathroom felt like a spa, complete with a heated floor. Walk around the lake, to the beach, and East Cliff Drive, no need to get in the car. What a gem, we’ll be back!

Remains our fave getaway spot!

This was my family's third stay, and as always we had a great time. This property is in a fantastic location -- my sister and I went for long walks along the cliff coastline each morning. You can get fresh seafood close by at the harbor. And the hot tub on the back porch is an amazing vacation treat!

Laura has lived in this house for over 30 years. She grew up in Hawaii. Tony has lived in San Jose until they married. We have spent the last few years remodeling the entire house; doing much of the work ourselves. We are so happy with the results. However, we have relocated for a while to care for Laura's parents in Hawaii. We plan to return to Santa Cruz but for now our home is available to you. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Since growing up in Hawaii, living near the ocean is crucial despite our long commute to work in Silicon Valley. When we descend from the Summit on Highway 17 towards Santa Cruz, a soothing feeling comes over us and all the stresses of the day melt away. We love Santa Cruz because of the temperate weather (it rarely goes over 80 degrees), the outdoor activities, easy access to cultural events, as well as being close enough to enjoy Monterey, San Jose, and San Francisco. People seem much more friendly, easy-going and neighborly in Santa Cruz.

What makes this property unique

We love the short walk to the beach. We often would catch the sunset, strolling along the water's edge or walking along the opposite side of the lake. Sometimes we would take some wood down to the beach and have a cozy fire, roasting smores or watching the meteor showers. Or for a different view, we would go to Pleasure Point and watch the surfers. We also enjoy having our meals out on our deck overlooking the lake or sitting in our spa at sunset or under the full moon. I love that there are outside views from every room and the picture window in the grand room frames one of the best views.
