Rancho Soquel is a 15 acre estate accessed by a private gate. Located in Soquel, California, a mere three mile drive from the beaches at the Capitola Esplanade. Guests may enjoy a leisurely walk through the beautiful gardens across the many bridges through the lovely grounds and perhaps through the forest to the Bocce Ball Court. The Super Cottage features it's own private walkway to the front patio. Guests may enjoy dining outside in the covered patio or inside. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a full kitchen the super cottage comfortably accommodates a family of four. Complete with cable, wifi, fireplace and washer and dryer. Sliding glass doors lead from the master bedroom to the back deck. Conveniently centralized between Monterey and San Francisco.

What a great place to stay. Beautiful accommodations and lovely landscaping. Super soft bedding … And an official sized bocce ball court!!! I will be back for a vacation visit.

Magical Cottage in Magical Gardens

This special hideaway was so peaceful, whimsical, wonderful mattresses. The cottage is on 8 acres of gorgeous land and you can walk around it. If you want a peaceful, lovely stay on an amazing property look no further. The owner was wonderful and magical too!

Lovely property

We were visiting our daughter who attends UC Santa Cruz and wanted a place not too far from campus. This property was perfect! It was just 20 minutes from the college and wow is it gorgeous! The cottage is warm, welcoming and comfortable. The property is private and secluded, perfect for anyone who likes to spend time outdoors. This place is a true gem.

A Secret Garden

Going into the gates takes your breathe away with the gardens and pathways and home and cottages. My 96 year old mother and I stayed for a long weekend for a family wedding at another location. (But this is the Perfect wedding venue!). My mother said the whole stay was perfect and she would recommend this location to everyone. Everything was provided, the art work and sculptures in the cottage and throughout the estate are stunning. Caroline helped settle us in and and gave us the freedom to walk throughout the grounds. A weekend that will never be forgotten.

Our daughter lives in Capitola in a tiny apartment. This was the perfect space to gather. The six of us were able to eat outside at our place and cook our own meal for her 25th birthday. The cottage was clean, beautiful and well appointed. The grounds are gorgeous. Plenty of space to walk around and a variety of places to sit outside. Our only surprise was that it is also a wedding venue and our cottage was along the perimeter of the grounds., so one of the nights we had that going on but it didn’t impact our stay except for the noise and people asking directions to the restroom

If this place is available while you are searching VRBO, I urge you to snatch it up immediately, before somebody else does. This two-bedroom two-bath cottage was perfect for our family of four. It is one of several houses on a large estate, though I think this is the only one rented out on a short-term basis. The entire property is covered in fantabulous gardens. In addition to the spacious (for 4) interior, there are several outdoor sitting areas to enjoy the gardens and wildlife (lots of bunnies, birds, lizards, and butterflies). The quaint town of Soquel is just 1.5 miles away, where you can find several coffee shops, restaurants, wine bars, and retail. Capitola is just a little farther, and it has even more restaurants and retail, including a Trader Joe's to stock the fridge and pantry. We were in the area for a wedding, and the rest of the family stayed at a Marriott Courtyard in Santa Cruz. They were all envious when we showed them pics of our lovely cottage. Also, Soquel seems so much cleaner and safer than Santa Cruz, which suffers all the problems that have made most California cities unsafe and undesirable for tourists. While you are in Soquel, be sure to consider the 50-minute drive to Monterey to visit the aquarium. The $60 tickets were higher than I remember from our previous visit (30 years ago), but it is worth every penny. To avoid the crowds, try to go on a weekday afternoon.

Estate-like stay

Beautiful & well appointed 2 bd/2ba cottage on a former event venue set at foot of Santa Cruz mtns. Patios/outdoor space galore, hot tub & bbq. Fully equipped kitchen & cable tv. Owner Bjorg was very accommodating. A 10 min drive to Capitola beach/wharf. Perfect if you’re looking for a bit of piece & quiet.

Girls trip

Renting the property and contact with the owner was excellent. She is extremely kind and very accommodating. She left us a welcome bottle of wine and snacks. So very kind. One suggestion is that when it’s warm the house gets very hot and stuffy, so providing fans for each room and keeping the temperature in the house low would be a huge help and make the stay extremely comfortable. Overall it was an amazing place for our girls reunion. Thank you so much Bjorg!

Wonderful place, wonderful people!

This place is truly unique! The house itself is fantastic. Clean and comfortable with everything you need. But what makes this place really stand out are the beautiful grounds and the excellent host. The gardens are worth a visit in their own right. It is the stuff of grand botanical gardens. The reception upon arrival and during our entire three-day stay could not have been better. Many thanks for a wonderful stay!

The secret garden !

This place was incredibly charming! The guest house was perfect for the 4 of us ! The grounds are a touch of Europe with the villa at the entrance and the guest house in the back . Baci ball court was so fun and such a peaceful quiet setting!
