Excellent location. The temperature in the house stays cool for the whole day. The kitchen has a large counter and it makes meal preparation very enjoyable. Having 2 bathrooms and washer/dryer is also a big plus.We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the lanai and listening to the sound of birds, and many other creatures in the surroundings.
This is a great place that has everything that you would need for a vacation stay. The lanai is amazing. The property host was very responsive to our special request, and easy to work with.
Perfect and beautiful home with amazing views. Everything went super smooth and easy to find. It was in a great location, just 15 mins to everything Kailua-Kona. About 20-25 mins to Waikoloa. So just perfect and beautiful.
This house was wonderful! Close enough to the touristy spots, but far enough away to relax and breathe. Beautiful property, well stocked, just loved it! Would definitely stay again!
We stayed just under a week and wish we stayed longer. Location is great! Neighborhood is quiet and clean. The view shown and pictures are spot on and Bill was very responsive.
We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect! The ocean view and sunsets were beautiful. It’s only about 10 minutes from the airport. If staying multiple nights I would recommend a run to Costco. Way cheaper gas and food. We would stay here again!

Aloha Anessa, Thank you so much for your review and It makes me so please to hear about my guests who have enjoyed their stay. You are welcome back anytime. Warmest Aloha, Bill
We loved the space and location. It is <10minutes from the airport. Perhaps ~20 minutes to most of the beaches and restaurants we visited, but the space and views made the drives to other places worth it.

Warmest Aloha, Bill
Loved this house! It was perfect for two couples, but the back patio was by far where we spent the majority of our time…early morning coffee as well as sunset viewing. We would definitely come back.
Highly recommend this property! It is near the airport, has a great view of the ocean and sunsets from the patio, and has quality furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to do laundry. Book it if it’s available!

Thank you. We hope you will come back again soon. Warmest aloha. Bill
We absolutely loved our two weeks at this property. The location was ideal for us, as it was minutes from Kua Bay, which we visited daily. Both the home and lanai are very spacious, and nicely appointed. Communications with the host were timely. We would stay at this property again.
This house had fantastic views and plenty of space. The host was quick to respond to any questions. It is very close to downtown Kona area and in a quiet neighborhood. Couldn’t recommend more!!
The property was beautiful and well maintained. The property owner was prompt and accommodating regarding any questions. The view was spectacular and the sunset was absolutely breathtaking. I would absolutely recommend this vrbo home to anyone who is interested in a visit to the big island.

Great location, views
Outstanding views, owner very responsive and easy to work with, quiet neighborhood. Only down side was that the carpet was really stained and could use a cleaning and beds were not super comfortable. Overall good stay though.
The property was beautiful and the view was incredible. However, there was a bug issue in the kitchen and we had to frequently spray bug spray. The owner was very communicative and apologetic though, and assured me this was not the usual situation.
The property was just as described, and comfortable! Although apparently normal for the area, the home is cooled by ceiling fans. We found it warm at times. The back porch is lovely, but also very warm in the afternoon and evening. There is a table and chairs in the car port that we used until sunset, when the porch cooled..
The property more than exceeded our expectations. Large bedrooms, baths, living and kitchen areas with a beautiful view in a very nice neighborhood. Modern appliances (I struggled with the thermomate cooktop but there is a manual to help). The owner was very prompt and kind in replying to questions. Both check in and check out instructions were very clear. We didn’t get to stay here long enough to use the bbq or beach chairs, snorkeling gear but would definitely book here again.

Didn’t meet expectations
The location and ocean view was amazing but the property was not as clean as we expected. Some examples are, floors were sticky and dirty, dishes had food stuck to them and the carpet crunched when you walked on it in some areas. As a part of the booking we were charged a cleaning fee and then were offered a secondary cleaning fee if we didn’t want to start laundry and the dishwasher before leaving on the last day. Also, if the owner deems that you used too much electricity, the renter is expected to pay extra for their stay. Every time you leave the house and turn the fans off, you come back to a musty smell and you start the process of airing it each time. The rules that are emailed contradict the rules on a white board on the refrigerator at the rental. This was our first extended stay at a VRBO so we learned a lot for future vacations.
The rooms in this house are very spacious, especially compared to some other VRBO houses we have stayed in. The view from the back of the house is beautiful. We watched the sunset from there on a few nights.
We did have a few questions and some minor issues and Bill was very fast to respond.
As one of the other reviewers mentioned, the rules on the kitchen whiteboard did contradict the email we received so that should be addressed. But we sent an email to clarify what we needed to do.
Also as mentioned by others, there was a musty smell in one bedroom.
There are 6 large chairs at the dining table and they are a little low. We needed to use pillows to sit on to be at a better height at the table.
Oh and if you are staying on a Tuesday night, you need to take the trash down to the street. It's a long steep driveway. I'm not the tallest or strongest person so that was a little difficult but good exercise. Something to be aware of.
But overall it was a relaxing place to stay and the communication was good, great views and location so it gets a good review from us.

Lovely View, But ...
Husband, daughter, and son-in-law, and I stayed for two weeks. The lanai is lovely. The ocean view, the sunsets, the cool breezes, the fragrance of flowers and fruit were perfect.
On the day of arrival the owner notified me that the dishwasher was broken, but that he hoped to have it fixed in 10 days. Then, he notified me that it would be replaced next week. That never happened. We handwashed dishes for our entire stay. The owner did give us a small refund, but it was inconvenient. Also not working, but listed as an amenity is the icemaker. We bought and left behind two ice cube trays. We had looked forward to grilling,.but the listed.and pictured gas grill is not there. According to the owner, the fire marshall and his insurance nixed any grilling on the property. He says he has been unable to update the VRBO listing.
If you stay here, be aware that the drive to Kona is about five miles. The property sits on a steep hill. That's the reason for the spectacular view, but we had to drive to flatter areas in order to do our daily walk. Matsuyama's is only half a mile away, but it is a strenuous half mile. Grocery shopping is down in town.
The beds were comfortable enough. The bathrooms are fine. But, the lack of listed amenities in the kitchen, made preparing meals a challenge.
The lanai is nicely furnished. We enjoyed it. But, we stay in VRBO properties to avoid eating all of our meals in restaurants. That was a disappointment.
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We were out and about during the day but made sure to home by around 5:30 pm or so to watch the sunsets from the lanai. The house is quite roomy with a very large and very well stocked kitchen. The house is also stocked with a nice supply of beach toys. We found the chairs very useful. The house is as pictured.

Why they chose this property
This property sits on a Bluff overlooking the Kailua-Kona Town and the Pacific Ocean. It sits at approximately 500 foot elevation so it remains cooler during the day and great sleeping weather. Spend you days down at the beach and then come back up to a very pleasant temperature. Dining on the lanai with the fabulous view is the end of a perfect day.
