5 mi to WEC, 10 to HITS -spacious house sleeps 10, big kitchen & 2 sitting areas
5 miles to WEC (side entrance off 40) 10 miles to HITS 15 miles to Zip lining and kayaking
Spacious Home, with almost 3000 sf and 4 "bed"rooms, 2.5 baths, (the house has 3 official bdrms + a “flex” which has a "bed" in it (note: not technically a bedroom since it doesn't have a closet or egress).
Huge, spacious kitchen/DR area with small island w/2 barstools, a kitchen table with 4 chairs and DR table with 6 chairs.
The Family Rm/Living area is very spacious with 2 seating areas, one with a desk/chair/printer and the other with a large 78" Smart TV. There is a huge 600+sf enclosed patio just off the living area, with lots of additional seating and a ping pong table. There's even a small dog run off to the side through one of the doors (also assessable via the laundry room, which is also big, has a twin daybed in it for overflow. Free use of W/D.
Remodeled just a couple of years ago. It has been furnished with high quality mattresses, bedding and linens to make your stay comfortable. House sits on 4 quiet acres in an Equestrian community. Home has a well stocked kitchen with new tile floors & granite counters.
The family room is on one end of the large living area, and office/sitting area on the other. The flex room (4th "bed" room) sits next to the MBR and also has access to the MBA. There is also a single size daybed set up in the mudroom area for overflow. There is also plenty of space in the common areas to set up the folding bed (single) or pull out chair (single). There is a small fenced in dog run (please clean up your dog's poops) with plenty of additional space for your dog to roam on the (unfenced) 4 are property.
Lots of parking with a front circular drive. There's another driveway to the rear of the house and if you would like to use that, just let me know in advance.
Zip lining, kayaking & horse back riding all 15 miles from house https://www.zipthecanyons.com
** NOTE: This property is 3 bedrooms, but has a private “flex” room that can be used for sleeping, just note that there is no egress (door or window to the outside) in this space, although it does have a door to the MBA with a window, and door leading to the rest of the house. If you need additional sleeping space, there is plenty of space in the house to set up the air mattress, or use the "chair-bed" in the FR area that opens up to a single bed. Even the MBR is large enough for another mattress. There are 6 total beds… 1 King, 2 Queens, 1 Full/Queen & 2 twin daybeds (one bedroom has a queen bed and daybed, the other daybed is in the mudroom area next to the 1/2 bath). Sorry for all the explanation regarding bedding/sleeping, I just want to be transparent and make sure you are comfortable about the layout prior to staying at the property.
Patio/Lanai Area: Please note that this is considered an "outdoor" structure, it was simply enclosed at some point but it does not have heat or A/C and is not completely sealed so could have an occasional dead bug. The entire house & patio is on a 4x/yr pest control program and this area is cleaned & swept prior to your arrival, but that doesn't prevent an occasional bug from sneaking in.
Please do not move any furniture around but If for some reason something gets moved, please return it, undamaged, to where you found it. Damages will be charged to guests. Dogs are permitted but can not be left alone in the house unless crated. Prior to leaving..... 1) Set thermostat at 78 in summer, 66 in winter. 2) Place all trash bags in the 2 trash cans outside. Excess bags should be left in the laundry room as animals will tear into them if left outside and not in a covered bin. 3) Please inform me of any breakage of kitchenware, furniture, etc, or any stains, tears, etc of linens, furniture, carpets, etc. 4) Run the dishwasher and put all dishes used back into the cabinets. 5) Make sure all lights are off except one at front door. 6) Make sure stove/oven is off. 7) Please make sure all doors to the house are locked prior to leaving. 8) Please travel home safely

We had a great stay at this house. Was actually my second time staying there! Beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious and the living room has a cozy couch and huge TV! We came for competition at WEC and look forward to staying here again.
There were 4 of us down for a horseshow. The house was perfect for us. Plenty of space and it was great we could each have a bedroom. Would definitely stay there again

I'm so glad you enjoyed the house. You were a great guest and are welcome back anytime.
This house was perfect for us, we came to Ocala to horse show - the location was great and the house had every thing stocked. We were able to cook and do laundry and never had to purchase anything other than groceries. Thank you!!!

Thank you Charles, I'm so glad the house worked out so well for you!! You are most certainly welcome back any time!
Beautiful, comfortable house and very clean. It's a big space with room for more furniture, but Carol Lynn is working on that. Overall, nothing significant missing. Carol Lynn was very responsive and helpful to questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you Becky, you were a pleasure to work with and welcome back any time.
We started renting this property in 2021, and we have enjoyed staying here ever since. It's very convenient to the World Equestrian Center, but far enough off the beaten path to be quiet. We will continue to use it as long as we are going to Ocala.

It’s always a pleasure to have you stay at the house. The cleaning crew even comments on how you go above and beyond to leave the house in a good condition after your stay. Welcome back anytime!!
The home is open design which was welcomed as standing and visiting was comfortable. The rear game area provided an opportunity to play some ping pong and visit. Host was pleasant and prompt. Directions were clear and easy.
Would recommend and return again.
Things were solved as we were there nothing major but nice woman to rent from!

The cleaners contacted me when they saw 16 people dropping off luggage prior to check in, as well as a truck that came and unloaded extra mattresses. They were concerned as the house has a max of 10 ppl without special permission. I then received text from guest at 10pm saying they just got there and there was no toilet paper or trash bags. I immediately spoke with owner of cleaning service who stated she was there earlier checking on her girls and personally put 2 rolls of TP in each of the 3 bathrooms and left trash bags under kitchen sink. Regardless, She offered to come by in the morning but the guest said not to come. She came by in the morning anyway as she was worried about the # of people that might be staying there. The woman who answered door in the morning refused to let them in to drop off more supplies & check the ice maker which stopped working. I texted the guest to remind him of max people in the house. He said it was under 10 people, all guys around 20-25 that were in town to sell or install solar systems. I asked that he monitor things closely, and make sure house and contents were left in good condition. Unfortunately the house was filthy, full of trash on counters, floors, tables, etc, open containers of leftover food, refrigerator full of leftovers, wet towels all over, a couple of broken dishes & cigar, cigarette and pot ashes, butts and smell throughout the house and thermostats left at 65. Guest named on reservation said they cleaned up "quite a bit" before leaving. The cleaners had sent pictures and it was obvious that no one picked up after themselves, threw away trash, cleaned dishes or did anything to leave house in an acceptable condition.
We were Carolyn’s First guests and her property was the perfect location for our family vacation. Since we were the first ever, there were some minor issues but nothing that Carolyn wasn’t able to help us with. Overall it was great attention, Carolyn was very responsive to all our needs and the house was pretty nice and clean. There was furniture missing and some other was a bit outdated but pretty

Thank you for being my first guest and thank you for your suggestions.
We have stayed at this location twice this year. It is convenient to the World Equestrian center in Ocala, Florida. The rooms are spacious and the kitchen is top of the line.
This was just the right size! Perfect location as we were at a horse show at WEC. Our group consisted of 5 adults and there was plenty of room. Kitchen appliances worked well, lots of room there as well.
We plan on a return visit in September and will stay here if it is available.
Communication with the owner was wonderful. She answered any and all questions immediately.

Barbara, I am truly sorry you weren't happy with the house but to clarify, there is a 10' long closet in one bedroom, a 5' closet in another, and a rolling hanging rack in the third bedroom. There is no dining room table yet as I've been waiting on it since Dec. but I did state that in the house description. There is a kitchen table with 4 chairs and 2 barstools at the kitchen island and hopefully the dining room table will arrive soon. I don't know what happened with the towels as I personally stocked the house with at least 8 nice quality plush bath sheets along with hand towels & washcloths. The cleaners said they were there when they cleaned the house prior to your arrival. They brought 4 more towels the next morning which apparently were not at the house when they went back to clean after your stay. I am at a loss with the towel situation but in an effort to prevent any future issue, I have asked the service to fill out an inventory checklist at each cleaning.
Easy location convenient to the World Equestrian Center. Very clean, spacious and comfortable place to stay. Furniture was a little sparse in certain places but nothing necessary was missing!

Thank you Charlene. I'm glad you found the location to be good and the house clean & comfortable. It's a big house but I'll keep adding to the furnishings and hopefully it will all be complete well before your next stay! Thank you for the review and the 5 stars :).
and I'll be looking to have you again. Glad you enjoyed your time there.
About the host
Hosted by Carol Lynn Richards
I grew up outside of Wash., DC in a MD suburb. I left the corporate world to run a horse boarding facility in Aldie, VA for 15 years. I am a licensed realtor and busy myself renovating homes and managing a couple of short term rental properties. I spend my spare time riding horses and spoiling my French bulldog, Gabby.
Why they chose this property
I loved the location of this property and it's spaciousness. Not to mention that the community is quiet, safe, horse friendly and extremely close to WEC and HITS. I hope to convert the silo barn into another rental and one day fence in some paddocks and convert the detached garage into a small barn.
What makes this property unique
Quiet neighborhood in the middle of equestrian estates. Home sits on nearly 4 acres at end of 3 adjoining streets so very peaceful with plenty of indoor and outdoor space.
