Come and enjoy old Avon Village on a quiet one way street. The Surfstead suite offers an eclectic blend of island history, craftsmanship and comfort in one of the oldest houses on Hatteras island. There is a private deck and entrance leading into a living and dining area equipped with a Roku tv. Prepare your meals in the fully stocked kitchenette. The bedroom boasts a queen size bed with another Roku tv, and a full bathroom with a custom tile shower. A private hot tub too! This truly unique space has been my rehab passion for the past four years of my life and I look forward to sharing it with others. Built at the turn of the 20th century, the house has weathered many storms and with a lot of TLC she is ready to weather more. This unique space has all a traveling surfer or couple would need to enjoy all Avon has to offer. Centrally located, the beach is a 5 minute walk away as are numerous restaurants and epic sunset spots such as Avon Harbor. The suite is a completely private space, as is the outdoor shower and hot tub. Guests are free to enjoy the suite in its entirety including the private outdoor living space. Upstairs is my personal residence where I live solo since I finished the rehab circa 2019. Always quiet and tranquil, there is no other neighborhood quite like Scarborough Town own Hatteras island. I have laundry facilities upstairs which I am happy to share with guests if they find themselves in need to freshen up their boardies after a few long, hot days on the beach. Just ask!

Avon is a nice, relaxed area and the suite we stayed in was perfect for a couple to stay in. We didn’t hear much noise from the house but got all of the information we needed through messages. We didn’t get a chance to use the hot tub because of a storm but it was clean and a good temperature when I checked.
Daniel is very attentive and responds quickly to all inquiries. He’s a great host making sure even the smallest details are taken care of (soaps, towels, cleaning materials etc). We enjoyed our short stay there and him being so accommodating. Great location!
We enjoyed our stay here so much! The apartment is beautiful and very well done. We also enjoyed the hot tub. We come down the the obx all the time and will be coming back for sure!
Wanted to find somewhere close to the beach to celebrate Mothers Day. Was a peaceful stay and great especially for the price. A little small but thats what we were looking for. Perfect for one person or a couple. Hot tub was the best part of the property for sure!
My husband and I enjoyed our visit. The home was centrally located to restaurants, the sound, markets, and the ocean. Daniel made sure we were stocked with everything we need to grill, cook, and enjoy our time.
Felt like I was staying in the cabin of a ship! Newly renovated by the looks of it so very clean but also renovated to the period so there is plenty of charm. Daniel was very nice and attentive. Highly recommend
This little spot is perfect for one or two people. The neighborhood is very quiet and a great mix between close to everything and yet private. Yet still close to any and everything you might need (hint: Foggy Dog & Oceana's are must visits).
The kitchen area is fully stocked for anything you might want to whip up. I loved that the bed was fully made and all we had to do was walk in.
This place is a truly a labor love for the owner and it shows in every detail. It was very clean and just a cozy little place to be.
Daniel's place is brilliantly designed - beautiful and such a smart use of small space: complete with bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room area (although tiny), plus private deck and hot tub. Unfortunately it was too hot to use the hot tub, but it looked so inviting! As hot as it was outside, the small AC unit worked amazingly well! Also, the place was spotless - looked and smelled so clean. Very short drive to the pier/public beach access. Several great eating spots, especially "Muffins & Scones" and "Po House." Be sure to visit the United Methodist Church in the neighborhood - so welcoming and alive. My only negative comment is to warn folks that this place is not ideal for TALL people - I was fine at 5'8", but my husband is 6'3" and hit his head multiple times on the entrance to the bathroom. :)
We had a very nice stay, the place was perfectly matching the description and it was spotless. The location is great. The pace is small, but it’s the right size for a couple.
This space is more than adequate for one person or a couple. It has everything you need. And it's just minutes from the grocery store, restaurants, a fishing pier, and the beach.
The place was very clean and tidy. There was everything in the home that we needed. Cups, Pots, Pans, coffee, silverware, crockpot, towels, soap, toiletries etc. The hot tub was also very clean and nice to relax in. I’m sure we will be booking again next year at this same place. 10/10 recommend.
Cozy, quiet and comfortable. Great location on a one way street with hardly no traffic. The house has everything you need for a wonderful getaway and the host Daniel was very accommodating, my wife and I will be back! Thanks Daniel
Daniels place was great. l admit iIwas a bit weary being downstairs but it was very quiet. had everything we needed for our 2 day stay. Would definitley go back and recommend.
Couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and lay my head while visiting family. It was perfect. When I walked in the first thing I noticed was a lemony clean smell….so important to me. It is the perfect size for 1/2 travelers and close to everything you need. I would love to stay again!
