About this property
Big Foot's Retreat- is in walking distance of Cumberland Point Recreation Area
New Listing - Welcome to a True Cumberland Point Home. This is the closest vacation home rental to (0.5 mile) the Cumberland Point Recreation Area. Cumberland Point is one of the many hidden treasures of Lake Cumberland. Unlike the Jamestown side of Lake Cumberland, Cumberland Point has not become so commercialized. It still feels like small town USA; "the locals hangout."
If you would like a break from cooking, forgotten any item(s), or would like to visit some local attractions the small town of Nancy has you covered. Nancy is a quick 15 minute scenic drive from the Point. Nancy offers a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options. For your other needs, Nancy has a grocery, pharmacy, hardware store and both a Family Dollar and Dollar General. We also have lots of places you might want to visit. Some of the Nancy attractions are Mills Springs Battlefield National Monument-Visitor Center & Museum, Mill Springs National Cemetery, Haney's Appledale Farm Store and Pulaski County Park (sandy beach). We have a detailed list waiting for you at Big Foot rental.
BUT OF COURSE YOU HAVE THE LAKE! At Cumberland Point you can do all of your favorite water activities (fishing, diving, tubing, water skiing, swimming, wakeboarding, etc.). If you're looking to relax, you can drop anchor in one of the many coves and creeks nearby the Point.
Less then a mile by boat from Cumberland Point is Newly Renovated Conley Bottom Resort which in itself a day treat. If you would like to rent a boat they have many different types including jets skis. With your rental, for a fee, they will pick you up at Cumberland Point and return you to the Point. Also at Conley Bottom you can find ice, gas, restrooms along with food, ice cream, lake supplies and souvenirs. If you just want to relax, Conley provides many rocking chairs and benches.
The historic gristmill at Mill Spring is a quick 10 minute boat ride to their dock. In late spring through early fall they are open daily between 9am and 5pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays they actually grind corn at 2:00pm.
AND If all that sounds exhausting just stay at the retreat that is nestled in the woods and just stop: turn off the cell phone, smell the woods, take a walk, read a book, or watch the wildlife from our porch rocking chairs. Just don't make eye contact with the Big Feet.
VRBO Location system is bad off I've tried to fix but here is a link for better accuracy:

About the host
Hosted by Sean

Hello, my name is Sean. Thank you for looking at our 1st Lake Cumberland rental. We have more to come- Our newly remodeled 5bdrm, 2 bath should be ready by lake season 2025 and will be listed here as well.
My wife, Sonya and I have been blessed to vacation here over the past 20+ years with our 4 children. One of the greatest benefits of marrying my wife was getting to know her side of the family. Besides from being really good people they are all Cumberland Point (CP) people and introduced me to the Lake Life! Both my Brothers-in-Law Families own property nearby and my in-laws own the last habited house on the right before you hit the water (the old Cumberland Point restaurant). I was immediately seduce by what all Cumberland Point (CP) @ Lake Cumberland (LCK) has to offer: tournament fishing Friday nights with my father-in-law, teaching my kids and nieces to waterski in one of the creeks, or sitting on the porch watching all the wildlife. Most of our fondest family pictures were taken right here at the point including birthdays and engagements. Conley Bottom Resort (CBR) is another must stop and one of the bonuses of renting here at CP. CBR is just a 5 minute boat ride over from CP. It has been one of our families favorite places to visit. We always enjoy shopping a bit in the store. There my daughter can't seem to leave without buying LCK or CBR merchandise to wear. Then, we are off to feed the resident fish, turtles and ducks and if your eye and hand coordination is at an expert level - try catching one bare-handed. It can be done! As the day winds down we sit in the rocking chairs watching the sunset over the water, all while devouring some ice cream cones and occasional pizza. Please see their website for additional details.
Therefore, we would like to offer other people the chance to make some of the same great memories we have here by offering CP vacation properties and a little retirement income for the wife and I. See you soon!
