About this property

Village Jewel close-by Equinox Hotel & 15 min. to Skiing & Equestrian Festival

Winterbrook is a 5,000 sq ft, renovated (2023), Colonial Revival family home with room for everyone and is located in historic Manchester Village. Our home is set on a 6-acre lot in Manchester Village historic district--we are just a short walk to the Equinox pond (.5 mi.) and a delightful 5 min., stroll down the tree-lined, marble sidewalks to the Equinox Hotel. We are just across the street from the Ekwanok Country Club and the Equinox Golf course.
This property is perfect for a large group or family and has been very popular with wedding events. Many brides and brides maids have enjoyed a magical stay here. During the summer we host equestrians from all over the country during the 8 week Vermont Summer Equestrian festival. In the winter, Winterbrook is in high demand for outdoor sports enthusiasts during the prime ski weeks.
Winterbrook’s in-town location can't be beat and the privacy and amenities of the property will wow you. Our home has been selected as the backdrop for the Orivs Dog Catalogue, Spring, 2024 and was recently as used as the setting for 2025 The Vermont Country Store Catalogue. The property offers sweeping meadow views, large continually blooming summer gardens and lawn areas, fire pit, a babbling brook (seasonal) and views of Equinox mountain. The home has many access points to the beautiful grounds. A newly constructed patio, designed and built using marble and bluestone slabs sourced from the local quarries, is accessed from the kitchen and the dining room. It is a wonderful area to sit and gaze at the meadow and towering birch tree views or to enjoy a family meal. The patio is outfitted with seating for ten, with 2, 50-inch round tables. There is also a Solo stove/fire pit on the patio for those who don't want to venture to the firepit out in the meadow. A small kids' cottage in the back yard is a fun discovery--with porch and twin beds for summer sleeping.

Inside:
Our home offers spacious rooms with lots of natural light. The upstairs offers 3 en suite bedrooms. 2 of these rooms have 2 full-sized beds. These bedrooms are great for couples or for kids who are smaller and can share a full-sized bed. The 3rd en-suite bedroom upstairs has fun built-in beds with trundles and 2 antique cannon ball twin beds. The Master bedroom is on 1st floor and has a spacious en suite bath. The master has a separate sitting area and 2 closets and windows look out at back lawn, large birch trees and large flower garden. The master bed, itself an heirloom from Leonards, is a tiger maple king bed.

All of our linens are high quality (100% cotton) and we provide down comforters/duvets (colder months) and beautiful quilts (warmer months) for all of the beds in the home as well as ample amounts of pillows!

A large, gorgeous eat-in kitchen. The kitchen was designed with a large family or group in mind and has excellent circulation and accessibility in order for many to be in it at once. The center island is topped with Vermont Danby marble and measures 5’ x 10’. The island houses 2nd sink, dishwasher, 2 refrigerator drawers, 2nd oven and drawer microwave. The island seats 2 and the kitchen table seats 6. A gas fireplace with custom mantel and hearth is the focal point of the room and it is flanked by 2, deep seated club chairs. Appliances are Thermador, Bosch and Meile.

A huge mud-room. This is the most-used entrance as it is closest to the garage--and is attached by a covered porch. The mudroom has a separate boot room w/antique pocket doors, large comfortable bench for gearing up or taking off and plenty of room for coats, boots, ski apparel, etc. there is ample shelving for ski bag storage.

There are 2 family rooms on the 1st floor. The 1st is a sophisticated library-style w/ a wet bar and wood burning fireplace. This room has a puzzle table and seats 6-7 comfortably. The 2nd is a very large great room w/ a 80” flat screen smart TV, ping pong, foosball. Custom built-ins flank an entire wall, stocked with games, activities, puzzles, etc. There are 3 large and very comfortable couches and large, comfortable club chairs.

A home office is located off of the kitchen and can be closed off for privacy. The office has a generously sized built-in desk, cabinets w/ printer etc. and looks out to the patio, yard, birches and garden.
