Beautiful historic chateau, lots of indoor & outdoor space
Unexpected heat wave was a big frustration, finally we got one room AC on the third floor for kids. Nights were cooler.
An expieriance of a life time, unique, easy access and plenty of outdoor space.
The home was amazing. We were met at check in and given a tour of the grounds and the house along with the history of the chateau, the frescos, furniture, and books. We were surprised by the beautiful welcome gift of local cheeses, yogurts, jellies, and wine all of which were enjoyed during our stay.
The kitchen was well stocked and modern allowing us to enjoy coffee and breakfast each morning and evening meals. There were a few cold days where some rooms were colder but not miserable. We received immediate responses with questions or issues and our stay was thoroughly enjoyed. The views were outstanding!
Upon arrival we were met by the chateau owner and the caretaker, the owner shared a lot of historical stories about the chateau which really added to the excitement of staying in such a remarkable location. He gave us a very nice welcome basket of goodies too - which was a sweet surprise! The chateau was so beautiful, and we took a million pictures - inside and outside, of the horses and goats, the gorgeous grounds and the interior of the home as well. There are so many bedrooms to choose from and plenty of bathrooms each of our guests were able to have their own room which is nice on a vacation. When our weeklong trip was nearing its end everyone wanted to stay even longer and we all agreed that we will definitely come back and stay there again (and hopefully soon)! Thank you for having us and letting us stay in your beautiful chateau! Sante!
We absolutely LOVED this beautiful place! The kids couldn’t believe they’d get to sleep in a Castle when we pulled up….and it only got better!! The grounds were lovely, with many relaxing nooks, trees, a beautiful fountain, flowers and even fruit trees! Inside, beautiful rooms awaited, with fantastic bedding. Open widows yields fresh air, and one can leave traffic and traffic sounds behind…here, one hears the gentle fountain, a nearby church , perhaps a few birds - SO relaxing and peaceful. The kids loved the games room too and the grandeur of it all. We walked around the village and locals were very friendly. And, we had a great time visiting nearby local sites (Avenches, Morat, Gletterens , Bern, Fribourg, Romont etc.). We found the house very clean and had everything we needed - for example in kitchen and bathrooms including soaps, clothes, appliances and so on,(which often isn’t always the case we find, with rentals). The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and very helpful with any/all questions, even introducing us to great local products (great cheese and yogurt place steps down the street!). We would love to return here someday ! It was just wonderful!
