This gorgeous home was perfect for a larger group with kids and exceeded our expectations! There was ample room to spread out, the house and kitchen were fully stocked, and the large hot tub was spectacular. The house itself is gorgeous and well maintained, and we loved the Christmas tree and holiday cheer. The owners were amazing and we greatly appreciate their hospitality as well as their advice on which highways to take during the snow. They guided us to a spot very nearby for sledding and the kids had a blast. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we all had a great time and agree that we will be back!
We had a wonderful stay at this property in Clio with our group of 6 adults, 6 kids, and 3 dogs. The check in process was very easy, and the property manager Walt was very responsive to our questions. Although we had been hoping for snow at the property, Walt directed us to a snow hill about 15-20 minutes from the property. We were lucky enough to be there on a weekend with long ski races, which were a total blast to watch (and there is a sledding hill that the kids played on while the adults watched the races). The home was very comfortable and warm. We greatly appreciated that the hot tub was already hot when we arrived.
Thoroughly enjoyed the house and beautiful setting with meadow view. Management was very friendly, hot tub was perfect and the character and layout of home was great - had everything we needed!

Great house. Beautiful setting. 4 spacious bedrooms, plus the multiple-bed loft; and a large dining room table for our group. Everyone agreed a return trip a must!

Perfect
This property has plenty of room inside and outside. Their are at least 5 golf courses within 5 to 20 minutes. The owner Johna is very helpful and easy to work with. The property was Perfect for our 8 guys and our golf trip.
Eight of us stayed at this house for an annual golf getaway. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable and extremely well-stocked. Communication with Walt and Johna was a breeze. Proximity to golf courses could not be better. When not on the golf course, we were able to enjoy the early Fall days on the huge lawn, back deck and front patio area. We hope to return next year!
Beautiful, peaceful property. More than enough room for 10 of us (didn't touch the 5 bed sleeping loft). Loved having 4 K beds and 3 baths. Property is aging, but everything worked well. So well stocked, we had everything we needed and more. Perfect for large group. We couldn't have enjoyed it more. We would love to return, Thank you!

Hidden Gem in Graeagle
The home is truly a hidden gem in Graeagle. The home easily fit our two families (10 total) with a room to spare. The kids could run and play in the snow while the adults relaxed in the wonderful accommodations within. Being in close proximity to downtown (Graeagle and Blairsden) was a bonus as restaurants and groceries were only a short drive away. It was a New Year's to remember for us, and we'll be back, thank you!
Came up August for my bachelor party/golf adventure with family and friends. About 13 of us fit perfect in the house..plenty of room to spread out. The house is in a perfect location from all the golf courses. The house was very enjoyable as the side yard was used for corn hole and deck area was perfect for grilling and chilling.
Walt was an amazing host and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. Can’t thank him enough for a great weekend!
Will definitely be back!
Johna provided a perfect landing spot for our 3-generational family gathering during this pandemic time. The home was carefully cleaned and prepared for our arrival. Johna and Wlat met us, provided amble support and information during check-in and during our stay. The home is has a well-stocked kitchen, well-arranged and full sleeping comfort, and the property has an expansive year that made a great play-zone for the kids. We enjoyed the solitude, meals, hot tub time, and watching a beautiful setting sun each evening. Fantastic home!

This was the best VRBO experience ever. The hospitality we received from the owner was beyond spectacular because they not only expressed their desire to ensure we had a flawless stay, they came through by periodically checking on us via text message to ensure that everything was going well for us. A large bottle of fresh water for the standing dispenser was dropped off on day 3 when I mentioned it was running low. The owner lives nearby and can easily take care of any issues quickly and personally.
Our children loved the home with all of the board games and puzzles. The piano was an added bonus for our children learning to play it. And all the kitchen supplies worked well.
We definitely intend to come back.
Our group of 12 (6 adults and 6 children under the age of 8) spent 4 nights here and had such a fabulous stay. The home is amazingly spacious, very clean, and so well stocked. We brought groceries up with us and cooked all of our meals at home and had everything we needed for cooking and so much more.Walter is such a friendly person, greeted us at arrival and checked on us during our stay to make sure we had all we needed. He was helpful in guiding us to a good spot for sledding and even let us use the sleds stored on their property. This property is PERFECT for kids! There is ample yard space to play and explore and the sleeping configurations are endless for accommodating all different ages. The home is centrally located, just a short 5 minute drive to Graeagle and about 20 minutes to some excellent sledding. We couldn’t have had a better time ringing in 2025 and we are exciting to plan a return trip!

Thoughtful owners - and a great house!
We had 12 people here for New Year's. This place is super comfortable, with lots of space - but it feels like home. I cook a LOT and the kitchen was great. It has this big butcher block island in the middle that makes for a great work-space. The owner is super thoughtful - checking in to see if we needed anything, putting out lots of towels for the hot-tub, there's a fire pit (if it's not the dry season) and lots of outdoor seating, wood for the fireplace ready, Christmas lights welcoming us. We also met a really nice neighbor on the road who told us where to find a creek-walk. Within driving distance of here there are stunningly gorgeous wilderness areas with lakes and meadows. But the view from the living room big picture windows here - especially at sunset - is jaw-droppingly beautiful. We were all really grateful to stay in such a comfortable house in such a beautiful part of the world!

Great property, hands down the best property in the Graeagle area for larger groups. House has everything you will need for your stay, the location is great and the owners are awesome. Highly recommend.
This place was perfect for our stay for a wedding in Graeagle. Sweeping views of the valley and a great lawn for the kids to play on. The house was very kid safe and had plenty of beds. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this location for a group stay.

About the host
Hosted by Johna Berg
My name is Johna, this is the house I grew up in and also raised my children. I am a Broker/Owner of Sierra Mountain Properties, one of the top producing Real Estate offices in the area. I am vice president of the Plumas County board of Realtors. My goal is to share this beautiful area with those who are on vacation and may also want to purchase their own vacation home, land or business here. I know why it's called the Lost Sierras, we have such a close proximity to Lake Tahoe and Reno, yet the mountain quiet, wildlife, and historic past has not been diminished by overcrowding.
Why they chose this property
This home has passed down through the generations. It was the original summer home for the owner of Mohawk Valley. The cattle are here every summer, without fail. This area is growing, but will never be as busy as Tahoe or Truckee, its our little secret piece of the sierras. There are many hiking and mountain biking trails and lakes within 10 minutes of the house, and for a quick swim at the millpond in Graeagle, that's just 4 miles away. In Graeagle you can enjoy shopping in the old mill town, enjoying a glass of wine at the wine garden, or visit the local brewery.
What makes this property unique
This home offers incredible views of Mohawk Valley and Eureka Peak (where the historic Longboard races are held each winter). The home has two fireplaces, one in the living room and one in the kitchen, hardwood floors, and original pine interior. The dining room table seats ten, did I mention the BABY GRAND PIANO? Although the home was built in the 50's, I have remodeled and upgraded the home specifically for vacation renters in mind. The character of the home is still in tact, with a history in the valley of one of the original homes built in Mohawk Valley.
