Attention all stargazers, dog lovers, movie buffs and desert dreamers. Welcome to Moonset Ranch! Your place to relax, unwind and reset. Fall in love with peaceful quiet, beautiful desert landscapes, gorgeous sunsets, stunning starry skies, and of course the moon.
Located within minutes of The Integratron, Giant Rock and La Copine and a short 25-minute drive to downtown Joshua Tree as well as the west entrance of the national park, @moonsetranch is the prefect desert escape with an off-the-grid feel.
THE SPACE
This listing comes with 2 separate buildings both of which you will be given full access to. The main cabin is about 650 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The guest cabin is 425 square feet with a master bedroom, bathroom and movie theatre. Both cabins have kitchens. You'll have the entirety of both cabins and 2 1/2 fully fenced acres all to yourself.
The main cabin comfortably sleeps 4 guests but you can squeeze in 6 if you share the beds! Both the orange bedroom and the red bedroom have queen beds. The couch is very long and comfortable to sleep on (I'm 6' 3" and I fit!). There is also an air mattress kept under one of the beds. The bathroom includes a washer and dryer. Enjoy the living room with a fully functioning record player, bluetooth speakers and 55” OLED TV with Roku player. The recently remodeled kitchen features a handcrafted high top dinner table for extra counter space and a huge farmhouse sink.
The guest house sleeps 4. The master bedroom has a king bed and the bathroom features a rainfall shower head. The living room/movie theatre has a day bed which is the same size as a full sized bed. When pulled out and extended it is the size of a king bed. There is also another long and comfortable couch that can be slept on.
Each house has a dedicated workspace. The master bedroom in the guest house features a sit/stand desk with a rolling office chair, monitor, mouse and keyboard available for your use. The red bedroom in the main cabin also has a desk and chair. I recently upgraded my internet and it’s very fast and great for remote work! I’ve seen it get speeds as high as 400 Mbps down and 30 Mbps up, though the average is usually more like 200 down and 20 up.
There is lots of outdoor space to enjoy. The front porch has a gas fireplace (propane included) along with a 6 person private hot tub. The back patio features a propane grill (propane is provided). Outdoor games include corn hole and bocce ball. For AC and heat in the main cabin there is a 3 head mini split system with 1 unit in each room and 1 in the living room. In the guest cabin there is a 2 head mini split system with 1 unit in the bedroom and 1 in the movie theatre. You can set each room/unit to its own preferred temperature.
ACCESS
My property is about 15 minutes from Yucca Valley and 25 minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park Welcome Center. Access to the house is via a dirt road but it is only about a half mile off a very nicely paved road. Except in pouring rain or snow, any type of car should have no trouble accessing the property. There is plenty of parking (2.5 acres of it!). I have a lockbox with keys in it. You'll receive an access code the day of your check in.
OTHER NOTES
Use the hot tub at your own risk.
In an effort to maintain a secure premises, the house is equipped with two exterior cameras. One is by the main door facing the main gate. The other is on the north side of the house. No cameras are located inside the house and no cameras can see the front or back porch areas. These are fully private areas.
You are welcome to use the outdoor BBQ! It is propane and propane is provided.
Pets are welcome but I do charge a $30 one time pet fee. Please clean up after your pet! I have doggy bags on the bottom of the coffee stand. Pets are not allowed to be unattended in the house without use of a kennel. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and in the beds. I have pet blankets in a bin you can use on the beds and furniture.

My favorite thing about this home is the peace and quiet. The stars are quite magnificent out here too! With 2.5 acres all to yourself its the perfect get away from the city.
