The Inkwell ~ An Oak Island Gem

Bring the whole family to The Inkwell…a great beach cottage with lots of room for fun. The Inkwell is beautifully decorated, clean, well maintained and stocked with everything you need to make your beach trip worry-free. Beach access is at SE 40th Street…a short walk away. The Inkwell features a newly renovated covered porch with rocking chairs. You can also enjoy a nice evening out on the screened in deck. Or enjoy an outdoor fire at the firepit.

A $100 deposit will be requested through VRBO once a booking is made. It will be refunded through VRBO within 24hrs of check out provided there aren’t any damages.

The golf cart stored on the property is NOT accessible to guests. Please do not touch it or attempt to use.

Fabulous Rental!

My family and I absolutely loved our stay here. The house is clean, well stocked and oh so adorable. The new covered front porch is a beautiful and functional addition. The neighborhood is quiet and close to shops and restaurants. I can not say enough wonderful things about this house!

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at this house. Our daughters loved that they each had their own bed and bedroom! Our host was very responsive with a couple minor issues. Super short drive to the beach!

Arrived at the property with a seamless check-in and a cool (nice withe the July heat), clean house. As a coupe the house was a good size and would be good for a small family also. Thoroughly enjoyed or visit.

Stellar Experience

We loved everything about this house! Cozy yet plenty of room for everyone and everything. Was exceptionally clean, never saw a single bug inside. The screened in back porch was perfect for having morning coffee. It was so convenient being so close to town and the beach. The hosts were easy to communicate with and let us know about fun happenings in the area. Can’t wait to stay again!

First timers to oak island

The inkwell was adorable, perfect for first timers to oak island! Small walk to the beach- we typically had someone from our group drop us off at the beach entrance with our gear and have others walk. would have rented a golf cart if staying awhile. The home was cute, perfect amount of space! Wonderful outdoor shower! Had all the kitchen gadgets needed and plenty of board games :) we had a great time! Destiny was wonderful to communicate with.

Our stay at the Inkwell

We checked in on June 12 to spend a week with our daughter before she moves to Japan for two years. We enjoyed our time. The Inkwell is a nice place in a good spot BUT it was not clean. The floors had dead palmetto bugs and a toenail in the right bedroom. Not ideal to start a vacation. I realize that owners rely on cleaning companies to clean for them but it is the most important thing with the rental.
