About this property
Wow! Awesome Kailua Ocean View, Pool, and Convenient Too!
ALOHA AND WELCOME TO OUR PIECE OF PARADISE!
Hale Luana (House to relax and idle away the hours) is located 3 miles above Kailua Kona and overlooks Kailua Bay and Kailua town. Maka Nui Tui ('Tui' as we like to refer to it) is our 3+ acre property ideally located 1100 feet above sea level containing Hale Luana along with the owners main residence. Tui is private, quiet, convenient, and most relaxing. Surrounded by tropical plants, flowers, and fruit. The fruit is yours for the picking when available. You enter through iron gates and drive up the palm tree lined driveway passing the main house to find Hale Luana.
Hale Luana will be a perfect retreat from relaxing by the infinty pool. (Pool hours are 9am to 4pm daily.) the daily sightseeing, beaching, shopping, and numerous other activities available on our wonderful island of Hawaii. Tropical breezes maintain a perfect temperature day and night. No need for air conditioning, but ceiling fans are in all rooms if you feel the need.
Now that you've completed your long trip to the islands, you can relax in your most comfortable, Hawaiian decor Hale Luana. Sip on a glass of wine or tropical drink as you watch the sunset from your private lanai. Marvel at the spectacular view of Kailua Bay and as the sun sets, delight in the stars above and twinkling lights of quaint Kailua town below.
Awake in the morning to the sounds of the local birds and rustling tropical leaves. Enjoy your first cup of Kona coffee on your lanai before embarking on the adventures before you. Whether it be sightseeing, beaching, snorkeling, shopping, golfing, or any of the many activities available. Hale Luana is so very convenient to everything to see or do on the big island. Most are within a 10 to 20 minute drive.
Please note that our pool does not have a shallow end. The shallowest portion is about 4 feet deep. We also have several tall rock walls that are quite attractive to children. For these reasons, children would not be allowed outdoors without adult supervision.
We've tried to prepare Hale Luana for you're pleasure and comfort. We are positive, your vacation here will be one of the most memorable you've experienced. Please contact us by email if you have any questions. We look forward to your visit.
Mahalo and Aloha,
Ray and Barb

About the host
Hosted by Barb Poston
Ray and I met in 1960 on Oahu, where he was a Marine stationed at Kaneohe MCAS and I was attending Kailua HS, as my father was also a Marine. We eventually married and moved to Virginia, where Ray is from originally. We always wanted to return to Hawaii and did, in 1985, and fell in love with Kona. Well, we bought a home, sold it in 2005 and built on Maka Nui Tui(loosely translated ('WAY TOO MUCH view'). Shortly after building our main house we completed Hale Luana. We wanted to share our happiness with as many folks as possible. What a wonderful place to live and sooo convenient to everything. We hope you can visit with us and realize the true feeling of living in paradise. Mahalo, Ray & Barb
