Quick communication and excellent "staying with us" kind of introductory guide. Plan ahead if parking but good advice was given on where to hunt. Hot water in the shower takes time to warm up, but stick with it!
This stay worked well for us for a weekend to enjoy Chicago. The space was neat and functional. For the check-in/check-out information I had to ask the host for details as it wasn't available for me in the app.

We loved the apartment! It's fantastic! So comfortable and everything available! The whole place was great! We did enjoy our stay l! Very walkable and enjoyable area! The beach is really close! The host was responsive and good with communication! I absolutely recommend this place!
This apartment is exactly what we needed! It is a great location! So close to Northwestern and my elderly mother found it easy to navigate! It is beautiful and well maintained!
Nice, quiet neighborhood. Short walk to the water. Very neat, spacious and clean place. Comfortable beds. Only had trouble finding parking on the street 1 night. Host very responsive. Will definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for family weekend at Northwestern. It was clean, bright, well-maintained and spacious. So much better than one hotel room for the same price. Parking was easily available. Dimitri was very responsive and even got us non-feather bedding after he found out we were all severely allergic.
I would stay here again.
The apartment was clean and updated, and in a great location. The building is old, so lots of creaks and noises, and a few cracks in the walls/ceiling. We were only staying for a few nights and did not need more than the bedrooms and bathroom, but the kitchen was not as supplied as other rentals I've stayed in.
This property was squeaky clean and I loved the fact that it did not allow pets or smoking since i have lots of allergies. It is very well appropriated and decorated. It was just what we needed and wanted. Thanks!
The stairway to enter is dated but don’t let that fool you! This apartment is completely and beautifully updated!
The beach is a 4 min walk (about 2 when go through the alley/pkg lot).
The neighborhood is shady and comfortable to walk. Host is super responsive and helpful.

Daughters Graduation
In Evanston for daughter’s graduation from Northwestern. Location was great . Check-in a piece of cake! Apartment description matched perfectly !!
Time to shower for graduation party, Friday night … no hot water (like a cold plunge). Bummer, called host , super quick response , said it’s an “old building, water pressure and temperature not consistent “. Host said he’d call the plumber. Unfortunately, couldn’t fix problem and on graduation day, Saturday , same situation, no hot water . Saturday evening time for family dinner , another cold shower , that’s when we decided to cut our graduation vacation early and check out . Great place with a hot water problem .
I stayed here with my sister-in-law for 4 nights, July 11-15, 2024. The apartment is comfortable, clean and attractively furnished. Its just a couple of blocks from a Lake Michigan beach and 5 blocks from a Chicago "L" system train--easy to get around! Previous folks who have stayed here have commented about the cool water in the showers. It does take awhile to get hot water. I didn't find this to be a problem. One of the two bedrooms has a window AC; the other room has a fan. However, the main room has a floor AC unit that quickly cools the entire apartment. It's effective, but noisy. So, we turned in on and let it run a couple of hours then turned it off when we wanted to sleep. Fortunately the apartment stayed cool for the night. The owner quickly responded to any question we had about the apartment. I would stay here again.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, communication
My over all experience was NOT satisfactory.
- Poor communication: I was not given lockbox location information ahead of time. Therefore we had to stand in dark and cold wind for like an hour. So we ended up staying the night at a hotel.
- Top of that the host made arrangements for gas company to come at night to come in and fix some gas situation? And that seemed like very suspicious to me. Which company comes and check gas at night? And I was supposed to let them in? So I felt very unsafe for anyone to be coming in the apartment while we were staying. The host kept continue to ask me to open doors for gas company people to let them in!! I did not understand why that needed to be done while his guests are in the apartment.
- And because of the gas situation I was not able to use stove.
- There is a door with net outside of the main door, where the net was ripped, suspicious too! The placement of the lockbox is in a very odd position.
- The lighting in front of the door is so poorly that we had to keep using our phone lights and that felt unsafe as well.
- The door lock was not locking properly from outside.
- Also when we turned on the temporary heater that was there since it was getting cold, the heater shut off saying Filter Change!!
- So overall very poor maintenance.
I would say the decor was nice enough and the location being close to the University and by the Lake was my reason choosing the property. But wouldn’t stay again bc of bad experience.

Major issues with plumbing and sewer smell
We had a very bad experience with this property. We booked for two nights for a short vacation from Milwaukee and had a terrible experience at the rental due to issues with the plumbing and cleanliness.
There was NO hot water. It took running it for 30 minutes to get it lukewarm. The manager’s response: pipes were old. Not great when you’re paying so much each night. We went to bed and were woken by a horrendous sewer smell coming from the bathroom. We closed the door and tried to get back to sleep, hoping to deal with it in the morning, but it was so strong we both felt nauseas and felt there was something wrong with the unit. By 2am we’d had enough and decided to drive back to Milwaukee. I contacted the manager several times, and he said he would investigate it. We asked for a refund for the second night, as their investigation was still not complete (even today, which is 2 days past our planned stay). The host refuses to offer the refund, due to the cancellation policy. Because we didn’t leave willingly, but due to the issues with the plumbing I’m even more upset at his inability to make this right.
We also did not feel the rental lived up to the descriptions, images, and reviews which states the unit was very clean. The unit was updated, but it felt like it hadn’t been kept up. The dishes were dirty, the bathroom was grimy and dusty, and had toilet brush cleaner was left out next to the toilet, and looked to have an accumulation of poop from the past three years.

I am sorry to hear about your negative experience at our unit. However, I must respectfully disagree with your statement as I believe it is untrue and unfair for the following reasons. I sent my plumber and maintenance team right away when you reported the sewage issue, but they did not find any problems as you described.
We take cleanliness very seriously, and our apartment is cleaned thoroughly before each guest arrives. I was there with my cleaners when you left, and nothing you described about the apartment being dirty is true. If you were having issues during your stay, I would have been more than happy to send a professional cleaner to address the problem, but you did not reach out to me and left without giving me a chance to rectify the situation. Regarding the hot water, I informed you prior to your arrival to run it for a minute as that is how the system works in older buildings.
It is very unfortunate and disheartening that we had this experience. However, it is important to note that your negative experience does not reflect the experience of all guests who have stayed at the apartment.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment! It looks professionally decorated and was thoughtfully stocked with absolutely everything we needed - right down to the band-aids and cotton balls I forgot to pack. The beds are very comfortable and the bedding is high quality. The bathroom is a little small, but nicely updated. There is plenty of hot water, but let it run for a while before getting in..
We were in town for Northwestern's graduation and had less than a 5 minute drive to campus. There is no designated parking, but we were able to find street parking fairly easily. The proximity to Lake Michigan was a nice bonus as well.
Given the attention to detail I will not only stay at this property again, but seek out others managed by Demitri. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
What a lovely apartment! It honestly felt like we were the first people to ever stay there — so pristine and sparkling!
Comfy beds
Conveniently situated between the two families we were visiting
Street parking
By the lake
The only imperfect tho g wax it took the shower forever to warm up and then the pressure was not great. Finally figured out to run the water in the bath until hot and then pull the diverter.
But everything else was perfection.
