The property was great. Clean, charming, and full of accommodations. Check in/out was really simple if you need a quick place to crash, but has everything you need for a longer stay. The best part was the communication with the host though. Very easy to get in touch with, very detailed in answering questions, and was understanding when discussing damage found from a previous guest. Overall would stay again.
This property looks exactly like the photos, the host also already had family games. And it is in a really convenient location close to a mall and grocery stores for quick store runs.
Neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Host was very responsive to questions I had and accommodated requests I had. Overall the place was nice and a good spot for five people that stayed here. Recommended!
Our stay was short but beds and living areas were super comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us. Short distance to dining and shopping. Quiet street and reserved parking was a plus. Great communication with owner with prompt responses. Thank you for the stay!
We came into town for my sisters wedding for the long weekend. Our stay was great, we had easy communication with Craig, and our needs were met quickly. Plenty of space for us to get ready and not be on top of each other which was awesome. The area is super nice, beautiful neighborhood, very family friendly with a 9 year old. Thank you so much for everything!
First...i was nervous booking on this site due to many scams and I'm glad I did....This was my first time booking and it was a great experience.. The place was clean and spacious. The owner craig is responsive to all questions asked..
Everything worked just right. Wish I knew that it was the other end of Evanston from my daughter, but I would have taken it anyway. Easy to communicate with owner. Two things that could be better. Towel hook in the small bathroom. More lighting in general. I assume those will be fixed in short order because the owner really cares and listens

Good location, not so clean
The location is great...
We we're visiting friends who live in the area, so we were out of the house most of the day. But there were some cleanliness issues. The rugs clearly hadn't been vacuumed recently or thoroughly (thankfully I found a shard of glass before I put my 1-year-old down on the living room rug). And there was hair and dirt in the tub, so that was kinda gross. And just generally throughout, surfaces were dusty.

Lindsay, my apologies for the cleanliness issues. My cleaners had less time to clean as they were working to accommodate a turnover plus your early check-in, so it’s possible there may have been some misses. I host remotely so unfortunately, I don’t see the unit most times before it’s turned over to a guest. I will work to improve in this area. Despite these issues, I hope you enjoyed your stay. I appreciate your feedback!
we were a group of seven, aged 18 months to 66 years. the flat was great. with the three bedrooms, queen beds in two rooms, two twins in the other, plus a pack’n play for the youngest, everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. also great that we were able to make breakfast in the mornings! the neighborhood was fantastic! very friendly people, so quiet, plenty of on street parking (no permits required!!!) easy communication with the host. great price! we appreciated the welcome booklet. flat was nice and clean. the listing does say there are four bedrooms, but we could have missed something in the fine print? in any case, we all HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property!!! (the only ‘real’ issue, was that a big old group of cheeseheads had to use keys glorifying da bearz 😉) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This property was ok. Good location for visiting Northwestern and Evanston. Mostly quiet, although if the downstairs neighbor is talking you can hear everything. It only has 1 1/2 bathrooms even though it is listed as 2, which was good enough for us. The furniture is not exactly what is in the photos, but similar pieces are there. You do have to carry bags up 1 1/2 flights of stairs, which was fine for us but could be a problem for some. The biggest downside for us was the complete lack of any dishes or silverware in the kitchen. There were a few mugs and glasses and some knives and pots. So overall, a good location, quiet spot with parking and fairly comfortable, but some improvements could definitely be made.

Hi Amie, It’s clear that you didn’t check the dishwasher— that’s where the dishes and silverware were.
Sometimes, on the days where we have a checkout in the morning and a checkin in the afternoon, there’s isn’t enough time to allow the dishwasher to run its course and have items placed in cabinets. I wish you would’ve communicated better during your stay and this issue would’ve been prevented. Thanks for the constructive criticism.

Great Low Key Location
There were a number of issues we experienced while staying here: number of bedrooms was not accurate, no hot tub, towels provided have holes in them, unflushed soiled toilets, used coffee filter still in coffee pot). I sent pictures to the host and he then ghosted me. The listing photgraphs well. It calls itself kid friendly but it is very clearly geared towards young adults partying for spring break. There is a card game that asks about sex positions and broken outlet covers. The cabinet under the sink does not stay closed. There is broken furniture in the closets. If you have a crawling infant or toddler, I would not recommend this place. The guests in an adjoining unit partied past 1:00 AM (This is out of the hosts control) I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here that wants a clean/quiet vrbo.

Sonia - I beg to differ. There are a number of reasons why this review is starkly different than the other reviews here and the hundreds of review I have on other platforms.
You attempted to cancel the booking through VRBO in January because you wanted a hot tub. You never approached me for the cancellation. I never advertised having a hot tub at this property, but I do have one listed at another one of my properties. I offered that one, but you said it was out of your budget.
There are 3 bedrooms photographed and listed. There are 3 bedrooms in the unit. No lie there whatsoever. It sounds like you did not read the listing OR checkin directions (with pictures) that I texted you because you called me at 11pm confused about how to enter the building. Also, you came with your partner and toddler— you never used the third bedroom so, that lie was also pointless.
The cleaning was properly done (I inspected the unit myself afterwards). You did send pictures (which I believe were fabricated) and I did respond to you. I never ghosted you and I still have our text thread to prove it. Yet, you didn’t respond until 8:13 am on the 3rd and final day of your stay with a text saying you’re leaving a day early.
I can’t control guests, only provide house rules. So the loud guests were out of my control, but they were quiet by midnight.
There are assortment of games in this unit, mainly contributions from other guests. If there was anything “inappropriate” for your child, my recommendation would be to put it away in one of the closets you mentioned.
Unfortunately, I expected these tactics from you and that’s why I rated you 1 star. Would not host again.
