The Lazy Bear Lodge was true to its name. It was a cozy serene space that allowed for a peaceful romantic getaway for me & my fiancée. The host Carrie was very nice & responded quickly to all communications throughout the entire process. Our stay was a Dream
The Lazy Bear lodge was perfect location for our spring break getaway with our two young children and dogs. It is very convenient to town, hikes, waterfalls. Gorgeous views. Sweet creek along the property that our kids enjoyed visiting daily. Host has all amenities covered and very helpful!

I did a 5 day stay here with my mom and sister in late October and we enjoyed this property. The leaves were changing so that was a nice perk but the home offered everything we needed. Plus it's not too far from the local area for restaurants, shopping, train ride, wineries, etc. It was clean and comfortable put we enjoyed the fireplace, fire pit, hot tub, and Blackstone grill. Also the host was very responsive and helpful.
What a spacious comfortable cabin! Plenty of room to spread out both inside and out. The field by the stream is an excellent place to relax in one of the provided hammocks or sit in the grass and listen to the stream. On chilly or rainy days, the room upstairs provides a space to work or relax with a good book while enjoying the awesome view. There are plenty of decks and seating all around the house. The downstairs is a fun area for kids to play any one of the dozens of games provided or the full size Ms PAC-MAN! Super cool. I was a little concerned before booking about the road between the cabin and field, but quickly learned there is hardly any traffic and people go real slow. So no concern there. There is a little road noise from the main road out of Blue Ridge, that you can hear from the cabin, but not really a bother. Awesome place! 5 out of 5!

Thank you so much for this amazing review, Amanda! We’re so glad you and your family enjoyed the cabin and all the spaces it has to offer—from relaxing in the hammocks by the stream to cozying up upstairs with a good book. It’s awesome to hear the kids had fun with the games and Ms. PAC-MAN too! We’re also happy the road and surrounding area weren’t an issue and that you could fully relax and enjoy your stay. Your kind words mean a lot, and we truly appreciate you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime!
Property was beautiful with lots to do for all. My kids enjoyed the hot tub, hammocks and the large wrap around porch. The layout of the cabin was very convenient and easy to navigate. Plus it was not far at all from downtown with all the activities we did each day. Would for sure come back here in the future.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The house is beautiful and larger than we expected. Unlike most places we have stayed, everything worked here. There was literally nothing out of place. Clean as a whistle too. Really, the cleanest VRBO we’ve ever stayed. Thanks to the owners for accommodating our 11 yo puppy as well. Close to town yet in the country. The views are anmazing. Actually watched some deer in the yard one morning. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again. 5 stars aren’t enough!
We had an amazing stay at the Lazy Bear Cabin in Blue Ridge over Thanksgiving! The cabin was beautiful, and we loved that it was decorated for Christmas, the Christmas tree in the living room was adorable. The views were breathtaking, and the outdoor space was perfect for our two boys to run and play. The location was also fantastic, close to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend for a family getaway! We will defiantly book this cabin again.
Cabin is super spacious and so relaxing. Porches galore and beautiful mountains and a creek surrounding the property. So convenient to Lake Blue Ride and the quaint town of Blue Ridge. Lots of great places to eat nearby as well. Highly recommend!
Jacuzzi was very dirty and all the grills I had to clean the jacuzzi myself and the grills

Unfortunately this guest continued to complain about multiple things during their stay, proving they were simply looking for a free or discounted stay. We would not host again as we have photos of the jacuzzi prior to their arrival showing it had been drained and cleaned.
We had a blast at Lazy Bear Lodge! Although this is a pet-friendly cabin, it was incredibly clean, which is important to me and something I have high expectations for. The cabin is also very kid-friendly and extremely spacious, with plenty of room to spread out both indoors and outdoors. The property itself is massive and absolutely beautiful. There’s a big open field perfect for a family football game, a pretty creek, hammocks, and a fire pit that overlooks it all (which I didn’t even realize was included...don’t worry, there is a fire pit!). My husband loved that there are two grills hooked up to a large propane tank, so there was no need to bring or swap propane. Our kids loved the game room, and the hot tub being right off that space was a huge bonus. One of the best parts of this cabin is the location. It’s literally minutes from Blue Ridge, maybe 10 minutes at most. Being close to town was perfect for us with small kids (ages 4 and 7). You don’t get a super high-up mountain view, but the view is still beautiful, and the convenience of being close to town was well worth it for our family. If you have kids check out the mini gold and gem mining down the road. So fun for littles. The house was very well stocked with everything needed to cook. My only suggestion would be to bring your own drinking water—the sink water was fine, but the fridge filter had a slight sulfur smell, likely from not being used often. Carrie, the host, was amazing. Thank you, Carrie!
