About this property

Maison Campagne "La trouvaille des retrouvailles" 14 p. babyfoot/ping-pong/vélos

In this family home, you'll appreciate the spaciousness, comfort, amenities, and tranquility. With 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, a playroom for your children, a large living/dining room, a lovely outdoor area, foosball, ping-pong, a large garage, a bar, a washing machine... everything is here for a pleasant stay! Whether with friends or family, everything is in place to offer you a rental that will allow you to create fabulous memories! Sheets and towels are optional! Beyond accommodating up to 14 people in this beautiful house, you'll benefit from 5 bedrooms with double beds and one bedroom with one double bed and two single beds. Each bedroom has tilt-and-turn shutters, your beds will be made and your towels placed on them, and we provide bath mats, dish towels, and hand towels. In addition to the storage in most bedrooms, you can store your belongings in the cupboards located on the landing (which also contain a travel cot, vacuum cleaner, and board games). The advantage of this large house is its layout, which allows everyone to find their own space. A separate but not independent area with its own TV provides a place to relax while others occupy the main living room! In the main living room, there is a lounge area, a television, a large solid wood family table (with a high chair and a baby chair), and a cupboard stocked with various dishes, allowing you to set a festive table. A fireplace is available during the shoulder seasons (50 euros for the use of the wood). The kitchen of The first floor is also equipped (oven, microwave, hob, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, Nespresso machine, toaster, crockery, fondue set, 2 raclette grills with extension cord, steamer, and various utensils), and 2 refrigerators are available for your convenience! A room with a bar and foosball table allows you to create a separate relaxation area, as does the double garage with a ping-pong table. In this garage, bicycles for children and adults will be available with helmets, a Mölkky set, a shuffleboard set, and some games for children. You will find two outdoor tables there so that up to 14 people can gather, and a charcoal barbecue. You will have access to a room on the first floor. A shower room with a changing table and separate toilet is located on the first floor. Upstairs, there is a shower room with a shower, sink, and toilet, another bathroom with a double sink, a shower, and a bathtub, and a separate toilet on the landing. Your bath mats and hand towels will be provided in each shower room! A washing machine and a clothesline are available for your use in the bar area. A little history... You will arrive at the hamlet of La Guerche. This area, between the 5th and 6th centuries, was a border zone where populations attempted to mark their territory. This shifting buffer zone established by the Franks aimed to contain Breton incursions. The Franks had to establish numerous strongpoints, observation posts, and refuges. The name "guerche" comes from the Germanic word "werk" and testifies to the oldest defense system of the Marches of Brittany. These "guerche" allowed control of the main communication routes within a radius of 5 to 10 km around each anchor point. Architectural features allow us to date the construction of the house to between the late 16th and early 17th centuries: large timber framing, thick walls, a massive chimney stack, and the presence of rafters. The house in La Guerche is distinguished by its height and the presence of a rafter on its east gable. Various renovations (bay windows, large windows) have replaced a much more modest opening layout (small windows with grilles, a round-arched doorway), but with masonry still constructed of large blocks. The height of the house suggests a manor house. The corner quoins of the house have remained intact, as has the rafter (the upper part of the east wall extending beyond the roof). Some noteworthy features: - A reused window lintel features a grotesque head whose braids appear to sprout from its ears. On either side of these braids, one can distinguish animal profiles (bird) and some plant motifs.1René Cintré, "The Marches of Brittany"

- The mantelpiece features an interesting coat of arms:
the presence of the chalice may suggest a priest's house or a family home where one of the children entered the clergy. The religious symbolism is strong.
The bones located on either side of the coat of arms remind us that man is mortal. The chalice indicates that after death, eternal life, paradise, is only attained through piety. On this coat of arms, the oldest Christian monogram – IHS- – has been engraved. It stands for "Iesus Hominum Salvator," that is to say, "Jesus, Savior of Humanity." PGJyPg - The main beam in the living room is very large. From this living room, one accessed the upper floor via a left-hand turning staircase attached to the north wall. The front of the dresser still bears traces of this former staircase. The upstairs bedroom had amenities including a fireplace and a dresser with a stone sink. The upstairs beam is smaller but features a beautiful double-molded decoration with a bracket at the end. The dresser, now located in the stairwell, is very well crafted. The stone sink is a through-hole to ensure wastewater drains to the outside. On its left side, a small water reservoir opens onto the stone sink through an opening that blends into the mouth of the face sculpted in the stone.
