A holiday flat in an authentic Ticino villa with panoramic views, built in the 16th century has a big private garden with Pergola and a Grotto The flat (ground floor and first floor) has a living area of about 100 sq. meters. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with a fire place with hot air circulation and a large sun-terrace; a kitchen with dining table as well as a bath room. On the first floor there are three bedrooms, two with two single beds each and one with a single bed. From each room you will have a marvellous lake view. The flat with central heating is partially renovated and equipped with mostly antique furniture. An outdoor covered swimming pool (2,5 x 7 metres) with a hot shower is located in the garden.

Abbiamo soggiornato in una casa incantevole, con un bel giardino e una piccola piscina da cui si gode una vista davvero mozzafiato sul Lago Maggiore. L’atmosfera è accogliente e autentica, grazie allo stile rustico della casa, che rende il soggiorno speciale e rilassante. La posizione, nello storico quartiere di Porta sopra Brissago, è suggestiva e tranquilla: un luogo ideale per staccare e godersi la bellezza del lago.

Ein fast perfekter Urlaub

Das Haus ist umwerfend schön mit traumhaftem Ausblick, wenn auch in die Jahre gekommen, was uns überhaupt nicht gestört hat. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war etwas schwierig (zumindest über das Portal), der Kontakt mit seiner vor Ort im Haus lebenden Schwester war jedoch sehr gut. Der Pool war zwar sehr kalt (18-19 Grad), aber eine willkommene Abkühlung! Wir haben uns dank des Wetters nahezu ausschließlich draußen aufgehalten, was mit drei kleinen Kindern wunderbar war. Hätten wir uns primär drinnen aufhalten müssen, wäre das ggf. schwierig gewesen (Sofa nicht bequem, nicht viel Platz im Wohnzimmer, Kinderzimmer nur über steile Treppe im Hausflur erreichbar). Das Haus liegt sehr weit oben am Berg, sodass man (zumindest mit Kinderwagen) zwingend aufs Auto angewiesen ist. Wir waren sehr viel im Nachbarort Cannobio (Italien), der wirklich sehr schön ist, ein Strandbad und eine schöne Promenade und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten hat. Generell ist die italienische Seite in allem deutlich bezahlbarer als die Schweizer Orte. Alles in allem war es eine wirklich schöne Woche dort.

Haus mit viel Charm

Die Casa Al Riale hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Gerade weil alles alt und nicht renoviert ist, vermittelt es den Tessin wie man ihn sich vorstellt. Der Garten mit der einzigartigen Sicht über den Lago Maggiore ist unbeschreiblich. Wir haben die Woche in Porta sehr genossen.

Sehr schön, altes Flair, wunderbare Aussicht mit Pool.

Die Wohnung ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Vieles lottert und ist heikel zu bedienen. Die Sitzgelegenheiten im Wohnzimmer sind nicht sehr komfortabel leider. Preis Leistung etwas teuer für den Zustand aber dafür mit Pool! Jedoch ist alles vorhanden. Wenn man nicht heikel ist, ist alles wunderbar :-) uns hast gefallen. Auch sehr nette Hausherrin. Danke für alles, wir würden wieder kommen.

Familienurlaub in Brissago

Die Ferienwohnung ist rustikal hat aber alles was man braucht und die Aussicht über den Lago Maggiore ist traumhaft schön. Wir machten viele Ausflüge und Wanderungen. Auch Cannobio in Italien mit seiner Piazza ist sehenswert. Wir kommen wieder!

ein bezauberndes Haus

Das Haus ist wunderschön, sehr alt mit viel Flair und Charme. Wir hatten eine herrliche Zeit. Die Lage genial mit herrlicher Sicht, 10 km nach Italien, man ist aber auch dank neuem Tunnel schnell in den Bergen. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und stilvoll eingerichtet, Feuerstelle im Wohnzimmer und in einem Steinhäuschen im Garten machen auch Regentage zum Genuss. Der Blick von der großen Terrasse ist traumhaft. Es war einfach perfekt und wunderschön.

Ein Haus mit Charakter, eine Umgebung mit reichlich Ausflugsmöglichkeiten und entspannte Tage und Abende mit umwerfender Aussicht über den Lago Maggiore. Selbst Regentage machen im gemütlich eingerichteten Haus Spass. Die Küche ist umfassend ausgestattet und selbst der Blick aus dem Badezimmer einmalig. Es waren wunderschöne Ferien! Herzlichen Dank!

Fantastic house on the shore of Lago Maggiore

This very charming, but rustic house must have one the most perfect views over Lago Maggiore. The swimming pool was covered and we even used it when it rained. The house has everything you would like (even a beautifully painted ceiling in the main bedroom). The house is a 5 minute drive away from the Italian border. The valleys around the lake provide for excellent drives and walks. The house has its own car park, from where it is about 30 steps up to the house. We really enjoyed our week here and wished it could have been longer.

Fabulous Place

Dear Sabina What a fabulous place this is! We still can't get over how wonderful the view is after looking at it for 2 weeks! The swimming pool was a real luxury and much appreciated. Sorry we smoked you out with the barbecue - blame the sausages. Do hope we are fitter after walking up from Brissago a few times. Now it is back to work. Many thanks for a lovely holiday. Ein herrlicher Urlaub

Wir haben dieses wunderschöne Fleckchen im Internet gefunden und das Haus - oder besser die Villa - auch "live" als ganz herrlich erlebt. Gerne hätten wir mehr über die Geschichte des Hauses erfahren! Dank der besonderen Ruhe des Hauses konnten wir uns bestens erholen. Auch einige heftige Gewitter haben uns nicht gestört - dadurch hatten wir Zeit in der vorzüglichen Hausbibliothek zu stöbern. Empfehlenswerte Ausflüge: Natürlich das Hermann Hesse Museum in Montagnola, aber auch die Fahrt nach Como hatte spezielle Reize. Unbedingt sollte mann einen Ausflug zum St. Gotthard Pass machen. Einzigartig ist sicher die romanische Kirche S. Nicolae in Gornico. Wir werden vor allem die wunderbare Terasse vermissen - einfach nur sitzen und schauen !...

Schönstes Urlaubziel am Lago Maggiore

Liebe Familie Bächlin Selten hat uns ein Urlaub so gut gefallen und so gut getan wie dieser ! Die Casa "Al Riale" hat nicht nur schöne Räume, einen tollen Aussichtsbalkon, einen gepflegten Garten und Swimmingpool, sondern darüber hinaus viel Charme. Das Haus mit seiner langen Geschichte besitzt eine gute Ausstrahlung und ist durchatmet von einem guten Geist! Wir grüssen alle, die schon da waren und alle, die noch kommen werden !

Perfect Place on the Lago Maggiore

Dear Sabina and Michael My wife and I spent many hours on the internet attempting to find the perfect place on the Lago Maggiore to bring our visiting friends from Australia with their kids. Casa "Al Riale" looked to be the exact place we were after and we are very pleased to write, that it didn't disappoint ! Our Australian Friends had a wonderful time visiting Ascona and Canobio with us and enjoying the nice ferry trips in between. This was made all the more exciting by the fact, that each day, we knew, we were returning to our beautiful 600 year old villa on the hill ! Every late afternoon was spent with a Prosecco in the little grotto in the garden. Surely this grotto must have the best view of any grotto anywhere and the addition of a crackling fireplace and a beautiful sunset made the experience a lasting memory for all time. After dinner each night we sat around the indoor fireplace, enjoyed a few Italian red wines and talked and laughed till late in this homely environment. We had a wonderful time and leave with lasting memories.
