A great weekend with adult sons and father, with lots of hikes, trips to local brewery and great time hanging out in Blue Ridge Cabin. Great views, lots of space with fire pit and huge living room kitchen area. Lots of wildlife with several deer and turkey sitings

We spent the weekend at Miller’s Retreat while in Hiawassee for a family wedding. This property was the perfect place for us. The house is impeccably clean and so comfortable. Deanna is a very responsive host and checked on us to ensure everything was going well. The weather was great and we were able to have meals out on the deck. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great house - Problem Owner
I can easily give this house 5-Stars. It's beautiful and very well kept. My problem has been with the owner. This stemmed from a problem with the TV. We could not get the primary channel we wanted to watch (ESPN), and the guest book very CLEARLY states ESPN "is available." There was no mention whatsoever that a PAID SUBSCRIPTION is needed to receive this network. We spent over three hours trying to get this network, and we even spent almost an hour on the phone with the owner trying to make it work, all with no results. Not even the owner could resolve the issue. That led me to ask the owner if any type of refund was available due to the problem with the TV.
WOW, that eventually led to a barrage of very negative comments from the owner, SOME EVEN INSULTING ME PERSONALLY by questioning my character and my integrity. In all my many years of using VRBO, I've never, ever had an owner respond in such a negative manner. Dealing with a problem issue is one thing, but insulting someone's character and integrity is totally different. This has been so disturbing that I reported the situation to VRBO. VRBO responded in a very positive manner and has handled this issue to my satisfaction. Highest praises to VRBO in being so concerned and so very responsive.
Bottom line, this is a very nice house. But the owner is the single most difficult person I have ever encountered in all my years of using VRBO.

When Tom first contacted me, he inquired about a senior citizen discount. Then when the second payment was due, he again asked for a discount.
When I checked with him at the beginning of his stay about the accommodations, he was very pleased. Then he texted me on my phone five days into his stay indicating that he was having difficulty watching his television show. In between cleaning up from the most recent hurricane, I called him to see if I could help and it became clear that he was not familiar with streaming services and SMART TV’s. Five days after we spoke, Tom again texted me and threatened me with a negative review if I did not give him a refund. He further stated that he is always granted refunds when he complains. I denied his request because I am not responsible for network changes and charges, however VRBO gave him a refund which eventually gets passed on to both guests and hosts.
