House had everything we needed and close to hiking and sight seeng

To our future guests: We are very disappointed by this rating, especially since the guest confirmed the house had absolutely everything they needed and was perfectly located for hiking and sightseeing. Many travelers do not realize that on this platform, any rating under 5 stars heavily penalizes hosts, hurts our visibility, and risks property suspension. When a stay meets every single expectation, a 5-star review is crucial to keeping our independent business running. We will continue to offer fully stocked, well-located stays for all of our future guests!
The host was more than accommodating to us, and quick to respond regarding communication. The home is cozy, comfortable and tastefully decorated with the most unique and beautiful art pieces, pillows, and furniture. They have made the most of the space they have on both the main level and the finished basement. Just wonderful!A truly seamless and pleasant experience for us!

Roomy and well appointed house with character and comfort. Two of the bedrooms are in the basement, but the basement is clean and finished really well with another living space and very roomy bathroom. Everything you need in a convenient location in town. Would absolutely stay there again.

Thank you for the fantastic feedback, Charles! We’re so glad our location and layout worked perfectly for your stay. It's great to hear you enjoyed the basement space and found everything comfortable. We would absolutely love to host you again next time you’re in town!
What a cute and comfortable place. The hosts have a refined sense of aesthetics and we enjoyed staying in this environment surrounded by interesting art. In addition, the host Billy gave us a gracious welcome that we appreciated. And if you haven't seen southeast Utah (Bear Ears, Bluff, Mexican Hat/Monument Valley, Canyonlands NP, Arches NP, Moab, etc.) you are missing one of the most stunning natural environments in the entire US. We spent four long, full days touring and could have stayed longer.

Fairly well stocked kitchen with dishes and pans. Decorated nicely, except we found the big bear a little scary. The listing did not mention how steep the stairs were to the basement.Over all, it was a very nice stay for our sibling get together.

Great location and just what we wanted. We rode off-road adventure motorcycles in SE Utah for seven days, and this was a great base. The house was perfect for 5 guys. The house had everything we needed, and the host had a great welcome package. I would recommend this location to anyone.

The hosts for Big Bear were a pleasure to work with! The home is wonderful with a lot of rooms and sleeping areas. We loved that the family room and large dining table area were together. The home is warm and welcoming and the hosts have the home stocked with everything that you could possibly need. We had a wonderful time!

The property was cute, the kitchen was well stocked, they had a nice welcome basket of snack snacks in the kitchen, it was clean. Only the area of improvement would be that the beds in the basement were very firm. They could use a mattress topper. The bed upstairs were great! Also the water pressure in the kitchen was low, but it didn’t stop us from being able to do the dishes. All in all, it was a good experience. The Neighborhood felt safe and it was a good jumping off point to go to monument valley and natural bridges.

To our future guests. We are very disappointed with Heather's review. She mentioned she had all in all good experience. It's very important to leave a 10/10 star review when you have a good stay. Less than 10 stars hurts the listing visibility and risks the property getting suspended.

This is an older home with lots of room. Our family enjoyed the quiet naborhooh and the location.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay and explored this great area of Southern Utah. The property was as listed and served as our space to reunite with friends. The house has plenty of room, simple efficient amenities, in a quiet neighborhood, and well supplied kitchen. Communication with host was excellent. Definitely would stay again.

The hosts are quick to respond to questions. The home is very cozy and had everything we needed. I loved the sliding shelves in the pantry and cabinets. There is plenty of parking. It is close to everything! We rode our side by sides all over town right from the house.
We had a very good time during our Blanding stay as we used the comfortable and welcoming Big Bear house as headquarters for our Cedar Mesa hiking and exploration. The home is remodeled and decorated in a welcoming and non-fussy manner; we felt at home. The kitchen in particular deserves a shout-out; it was complete with quality pans, dishes, and appliances.

The Big Bear Home was perfect for a family vacation with our two adult children. We loved the unique interior decor and artwork. Bears Ears is a wild and beautiful place and this vacation home is an ideal launching point. Billy is a great host! We're glad we got to meet him in person. We definitely hope to rent a vacation home from him again. Petrina and Larry

Big Bear was the perfect launching point for friends and family who were running an ultra marathon through the mountains of Bears Ears and for those of us who just wanted to enjoy the beauty of the area. The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with what we needed. Communication with Billy and his staff was smooth, responsive, and friendly. We had a great time and would definitely return if we’re in the area.

We stayed at Big Bear for 4 nights in February. A group of six adults that like to explore and hike the area. The house was fine for us, the dining room table easily accommodated all of us, the kitchen had new appliances and was fully equipped, the home was clean and Billy was very cooperative when we brought a self-induced problem to his attention. Be aware the house has limited closet and drawer space for unpacking, but all-in-all it is as represented and fit our needs quite well.
We came here for the annular eclipse. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky.
We've been to this part of Utah in the summer and I've got to say that October is sooo much nicer.
The house was centrally located, Arches/Canyonlands are about 1.5 hours north, Monument Valley about the same to the south. Hovenweep was a bit closer, about an hour away. Unfortunately we didn't have enough to time to visit Natural Bridges but it's about an hour to the west.
The house itself was nice, plenty of room for our family. Every room had it's own wall mounted A/C unit. The kitchen was well stocked so we only had to pick up a few things at City Market in Moab.
Will definitely consider renting again in the future.

The house was as advertised and was roomy and comfortable for two families to enjoy (7 people). The kitchen is nice and well stocked. The only noticeable item missing is a corkscrew. I gave the property 4 of 5 stars because it was not ideally set up for a winter visit. Four of the five beds did not have blankets only sheets. We were also only able to find two blankets and they were lightweight. Fortunately the second family came a day later and brought additional blankets. Overall this is a very nice property and is a great spot for exploring southeast Utah.

Aloha!!
So sorry you didn’t decide to reach out about the blanket issue, I have a team literally next door that could’ve brought over anything you needed including the corkscrew or blankets.
Someone must’ve walked off with both because the house used to be completely full of extra stuff like that. I will make sure to restock and again sorry we didn’t have a chance to speak during your stay or I would’ve fixed this instantly.

Clean and well located in a quiet neighborhood in Blanding. Well supplied.I have to deduct one star for cold feet. Hosts repeatedly and strongly asked for no shoes to be worn in the house. That's fine, but the heat units are located near the ceiling and were not easy to program.(hosts provided an explanatory video for a different model unit than the one installed). Mainly hard floors and kitchen does not have a heat unit. Our last morning there the heater was set at 75 degrees but external thermometers showed 64 degrees in the loving room.

Dear future Guest,
We are so sorry that this person gave us four stars because they didn’t come prepared. We mentioned to them on several occasions that bringing house slippers or nice big socks or anything to keep their feet warm would be totally acceptable. We never want anybody to have cold feet! We just know from many years of living in Southeast Utah that the red dirt is a killer for our housekeeping team.
We appreciate you looking at all the rest of the great reviews and staying with us anyways.
