The house was really spacious, charming, and very clean. The host was fantastic—super responsive and helpful throughout. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is due to the location being a bit misleading. One of my main priorities when booking accommodation at Lake Atitlán was to have a direct lake view, and the map/photos suggest the property is right by the lake, which isn’t quite the case. That said, everything else was perfect, and I would highly recommend the property.
Our stay here was excellent. The owner communicated with us days before check in and recommended various places to visit near the house. He kept in contact with us, making sure we were okay and if we needed his help. Wonderful customer service. The house is beautiful and secluded for privacy, yet very close to major establishments and activities.
Our visit was amazing. I couldn't ask for anything better. Richard is an amazing host and a very interesting man full of ideas and plans. He was most attentive. I had problems locking the door and he immediately responded to my WhatsApp message with exactly the information I needed to lock it. The master bed was cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed. We cooked every day 2 - 3 times. He had the house cleaned during our stay. It was quiet and relaxing and peaceful. My husband and I mostly were the only ones at the property but we had friends and our grandkids from Xela come in and spend a night with us each. We were tight when we had a full house but definitely fit 8 people. The place is amazing. Highly, highly recommend this place.
Richard was also a marvel. He went above and beyond helping us out. Not only arranged for us to use the pool and beach at Hotel Bahia (which was also a great place), but also was willing to give me contacts and information to host my g-ddaughter as an international youth exchange student with the Rotary Club.
Five stars only because I can't give more!
Richard is a friendly, hospitable, thoughtful and caring host. He went above and beyond throughout the entirety of our stay. Not only was he helpful in giving TukTuk drivers information once we got into Pana, he personally called one of the restaurants that were delivering to us to clarify our location and helped get us our food. The house itself is very charming. Windows were everywhere and unlike most places here, he had screens on all the windows and a bug screen on the front door which allowed us to keep everything open without worrying about bugs getting in. AMAZING! He also kept the fridge and freezer stocked with some goodies from the area that were available for at cost. Highly recommend the bread in the freezer. The water was hot, the towels were soft and the bed in the master was huge and extremely comfortable. The coffee provided was from local farms and was delicious! You are by yourself with no other houses close by for total seclusion. There were all types of birds around the property as well as tons of butterflies and the coolest blue lizards I've ever seen. The entire place is out of a storybook. Richard is an excellent host and incredibly thoughtful of his guests. We would have zero issues staying at his place again. We rate it a 10/10.
