Angels Landing: Close to Beach, Huge Deck, Hot Tub, Canal, Kayaks, Well-Stocked!

If you're looking for convenience to the beach, water views, direct water access, a hot tub, outdoor shower, and loads privacy in a well-appointed beach home, Angels Landing is your kind of place! And, if you have a well-behaved and clean four-legged friend (or two) who you’d really like to enjoy your vacation with, we’ll allow them, too! Emerald Isle is dog friendly; they’re even allowed on the beach year-round and at nearly all outdoor restaurants! If we approve your dog(s) to stay, our pet fee is $35/night for the first dog and $15/night for a second (the second pet fee will be invoiced separately from your initial VRBO booking). This is much less expensive and much more fun than boarding your best friends!

Our well maintained and loved cottage rests on a one-lane, tree-lined street that dead ends at a court overlooking the beautiful Bogue Sound. The Sound is also partly visible from the cottage's front yard and living room. The cottage's driveway is right off the court and has ample private parking.

Beach fans will love how convenient the sand and warm ocean waters are from Angels Landing. Two different beach access points are a short walk. The beach is such a short distance that it won’t be a problem to dash home for lunch, supplies, and naps, or to head back to the beach in the evening to witness sunsets that will take your breath away (see our pictures for an example). Our south-facing beach has amazing sunsets and boasts warm waters during an extended May through October/November swim season. We provide beach chairs, a beach cart, a Shabumi beach shade, boogie boards, a skim board, and some other beach toys and games to enjoy (like Can Jam, a Frisbee, bocce ball, etc.). And, you'll always have plenty of space to spread out on the beach even during the busiest summer days because there is not public parking where our home's access points are!

When you come home from the beach, you'll enjoy the large outdoor shower that has hot water and views of the Live Oak trees and canal. The separate, large changing area makes for added convenience.

Our home features a huge, 20x25 foot deck that includes a 6-person hot tub! An outdoor dining table is the perfect place for enjoying meals outside, and the soft lighting that we provide creates a great space for continuing the conversation and fun outside after the sun sets. The deck overlooks a back yard that is full of mature, Live Oak trees, and a canal with a private dock. The deck is completely private -- your neighbors and you won't be looking at each other! The view from the deck also is spectacular on clear nights. The lack of light pollution at this part of the island makes for a spectacular night sky.

The canal out back leads out to the Bogue Sound and is extremely peaceful. Our private dock has Adirondack chairs in the shade - perfect for reading a book or simply having a drink while you watch and listen to the birds go about their day. Launch our two kayaks or an adult-sized paddle board (life vests also provided) from the dock or from a water's edge spot that's also on our property. The Bogue Sound is known for great fishing, oysters, and other wildlife, and has lots of islands to explore that you can only access via kayak.

The large yard boasts mature Live Oak trees in an undisturbed setting, providing shade, privacy, and a home to native birds. They'll sing as you sip your coffee on the deck or the dock. It is impossible to describe the peace and tranquility of the time spent in this setting or the relaxing feeling of resting in the hammock as a light breeze rustles the tree leaves.

Inside, the well-equipped kitchen includes various gadgets that cooks will love, a full-sized microwave and dishwasher, a Keurig machine, a Nespresso Vertuo machine, a standard coffee maker, toaster, crock pot, blender, air fryer, hand held and full-sized blenders, and various other tools of the trade, along with a large collection of spices. Tired of vacation homes with nasty old pots worn out Teflon pans? Not here! Dull knives? Nope! Not enough utensils, grill tools, measuring spoons and cups, serving dishes, and the like? Not here! We also provide a gas grill with ample gas and grilling utensils. The indoor dining area seats six and overlooks the deck through a large sliding door.

The family room has lots seating so for gathering comfortably. Enjoy conversation, games (we provide many!), the 65-inch QLED HDTV with Spectrum streaming (like cable, essentially). All TVs are smart or Roku-enabled so that you can log into streaming services, including Spectrum, from every room. Need strong Wifi for work and gaming? No Problem! Enjoy a full gigabit speed wireless, encrypted internet access powered by the latest model high speed router. Working remotely, even on a VPN, and video calls are no problem at all. We also provide a quiet, comfortable desk work space with an extra LCD screen (and connecting HDMI cable) in one of the upstairs bedrooms, should you need to participate in a virtual meeting. Familiar with Sonos? If not, you should be! We offer Sonos speakers in various rooms so that you can connect with the Sonos app. and stream tunes throughout the home. Great tunes are a must on vacation!

Angels Landing offers three nice-sized bedrooms. The primary bedroom is on the ground level and features a king bed with a comfortable, high-end hybrid mattress and a large HDTV. The primary bedroom has its own bathroom with a large, low step-in shower and a walk-in closet. Upstairs, the two large bedrooms share a Jack & Jill bathroom with a full tub and shower. The first upstairs room has a queen bed, a large HDTV, and a private walk-in closet. The second upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bunk bed, plus another HDTV. There's even a second upstairs walk-in closet adjoining the upstairs bath that has games and other toys that you'll be free to enjoy. We don't have old, cheap rental mattresses, either. You'll see many reviewers comment about how comfy the mattresses are. We even provide a large assortment of pillows for varying preferences.

Bed linens and bath towels are provided, and all beds will be made when you arrive (who wants to arrive at a vacation home and start making beds?!). Ceiling fans in every bedroom provide extra comfort, and we also provide a large selection of pillows of different thicknesses and types from which to choose.

Like to explore, shop, or go out to eat? You’ll love Emerald Isle and how close our home is to all of its great amenities! It’s an ideal beach town with many locally-owned restaurants and seafood markets, shops, grocery stores, a movie theater, massage and nail salons, and other fun places to explore. The island offers a fishing pier, tennis courts, playgrounds, a wide bike path, and an affordable water park that’s perfect for kids. The bridge to the mainland and all it has to offer is only 3 miles from the cottage. We’ll have recommendations and resources for you to read about and access when you arrive and will provide some other useful info ahead of time, after you book. Angels Landing is perfectly located because you get peace and quiet when you want but is also close to the island’s shops and the mainland. You'll also be a convenient drive from lots of nearby towns to explore: Swansboro, Atlantic Beach, Morehead City, and Beaufort (pronounced “Boh-Fert”).

We respond quickly to your questions and requests and our property manager is incredibly kind and lives right down the street (and we love supporting him because he's retired military). The check-in process and staying in a vacation home shouldn't bring additional stress to your life, and we do our absolute best to make sure it won’t!
